This is my second art-contest!
I am a fanatical art-collector and I saved some gold I earned from commissions, plus a donation item to held this small contest. All entries are welcome, and all kinds of art are appreciated!

Currently, I have collected more than 200 pictures, and I'm striving for more as time goes by.
heart I'm already a veteran Gaian. And I must say, this is one hell of a celebration!!! YAY for second anniversary! heart
I love art the most. More than items, more than gold, more than letters, I love art.

I'm an artist myself, and I have worked for most of my commissions. I may not have as much gold as other art collectors or artists, but trust me.. it has taken me some time to save this much and finally decide that I want to hold this contest.

If you are an artist and would lilke to participate, you are free to join!

However, there are rules to follow in order to keep this contest fair and according to Gaian ToS (Most of these are pretty self-explanatory, but I'm going to post them anyways just in case someone forgets) :

RULES

No flamming!
No harrasing, attacking or mocking artists!
Follow Gaian ToS at all times
No spamming
No streching pages with long posts, please!
No cybering
No posting art that is not yours!
No picture stealing!
Post clearly, no L33t-speak!
No trolling!
Be true at all times, please
If you have questions, ask please.
All pictures entered become my personal property upon entering. I will not be using these pictures for profit and gonna give the credits to the artists, if someone ask or anything about the entry.
No pornography/sexually explicit pictures of any kind. Gaia is PG-13, but i accept tastefull nudity.
You ABSOLUTELY must host your images on your own webspace until the end of the contest.
You may enter as many pictures as you wish.

A: Of course!

A: No, its free.

A: Yes, feel free to do so.

Q: Do you accept donations?
A: Yes!! This way, I will be able to give out more prizes.

Q: Can I draw your avatar with an outfit of my own?
A: Yes!! I love artistic license!

Q: Can I add percings to your avatar?
A: Yes. On: ears, one eyebrow, lips.

Q: Can I add tattoos?
A: Yes, if you feel like it.

A: Anything you like

I love artistic license. This means, I like it when artists get creative. :3
But, to give you an idea:

The character I use in Gaia is part of a bit of my personality:
- Outgoing, yet reserved
- Stylish, yet sexy but not vulgar
- An artist and writer
- An art - whore / collector
- A bit of a goth-wannabe, but still shy.

Some of my favorite items and clothing pieces are:
- Striped stockings
- leather collar with cross
- pimpin' red skirt
- butterfly wings
- Stylish charcoal boots
- Goth boots
- Upside down red boots
- Top hats

Items that I would love to have always:
- monocle or eye patch
- elf ears
- devil tail
- nightmare headband
- a halo or devil horns
- same hairstyle.

If you are using colors, some of my favorite are:
- Dark red + black
- Pink + gray + black

Hello and good morning, everyone!!!

Now, after much discussion and hard thinking, I am pleased to announce the winners! But before, I would like to thank each and everyone of the contestants. I must say I am very pleased with the results of this contest, and there were so many incredible entries, that it was really hard to chose only two places and a honorific mention. There was a really though moment where I had two ties: one for the first place and another for the honorific mention. I would like to congratulate each artist for their effort, their creativity and their dedication to the artwork they submitted.

Each judge carefully chose their favorites and gave reasons for their choices.
The honorable judges were:

Munia: a very dear, dedicated and talented artist & friend. Art-whore on the making.
EeveeChan: my absolute exchange queen and a great help, as well as a wonderful friend.
Raesha: leader and founder of the Official Gaian Art Whore Guild
Joygasmasaur: sweet artist and a very luffed friend. </3
CHubas: My fellow art-whore disciple, a close friend and an artist, too!
Ryuuhou Harukaze: Member of the Gaian Art Shop Owner Coalition and a sweet man-groupie, a beloved friend, as well as my gaian son.
Chemie: last but not the least, member of the GASOC as well, a dear friend and a generous donator. </3

And now, the winners!!! biggrin heart

SURPRISE! Thanks to Chemie's generosity, I am now able to give out two more prizes, a third place and an extra honorific mention! Now, five prizes are given out! Please read on to know more about what lead us to these choices:

Honorific mention 1: Bastett. A very original picture, a great technique and lots of personality. Pure Deuxiness in a single picture. It is both sexy and cute at the same time, looks playful and pleasing to the eye, as well as very detailed. Congratulations!
Honorific mention 2: [In Square Braquets]. Gorgeous watercolor technique and a very fashionable goth-stylish look which Deuxia loves and hardly finds on artists. A very artistic technique and a great use of lines made this a very pleasing artwork and a fantastic piece. I could not stop staring. Great job!
Third place: thanatoss. Many judges agreed this had a stunning professional quality, clean lines and a terrific use of color. A dinamic pose, a great attitude and a unique style from the artist made this an artwork that was loved. Proportions and anatomy showed the originality of the artist. Excellent!!!
Second place: _Ishtar_. This piece attracted a lot of the judges by its apparent simplicity with a touch of luxury. The colors used made this a very stylish and elegant piece. Great use of proportions and lines, as well as a set of original clothing and stunning details made this reach the top. The wings, like a floating tattoo, (as a judge said) added a lot to this. Impressive skill and clean artwork was a plus. Marvelous!!!
First place: Artei. A realistic, but artistic piece. Proportions and anatomy showed a great skill and lots of dedication from the artist. Attention to the details was noticeable and the very kinky pose as well as the sexy clothing attracted our attention. This is a drawing with no outline and a painty look, which we rarely see here on Gaia. Small details like the nail polish and the textures on the stockings and boots looked magnificent. All of the facts named above and a majority of votes from the judges made this picture deserve the first place. Hail to the winner!!!

It has been such an exciting experience to held this contest as well as choosing the winners. I want to thank each of the judges one more time for their effort, time, concentration and consideration while helping me pick the winners.

A special 'thank-you' to all contestants for joining this contest and showing each of us what they are made of, thank you for your valuable participation. Talent like yours is very much appreciated and loved.
