NOTE:Back after a REALLY long hiatus! We have decided that this will only be a summer shop. Trying to do this while both of us are separated by 5 states is not very effective!

NOTE: Some image quality of the samples are poor right now due to the fact that we started taking pictures and are now scanning. Scanning not only looks clearer, but the lighting and color looks more even. Sorry in advance! Once more characters are done, better samples will come up.

Welcome to the Lego Shop!
Here you can find all your Lego needs.
Whether you want to spice up your signature with some Lego goodness, or just to see how your favorite 8-bit character would look in Lego form, you will be able to find what you want here.

This store is run by Popple and Fusan. We are real life brother and sister, so I guess you could say this is a family business. We create the Legos right in our home, take a picture of it, then touch it up through various programs to present it to you in its final edition.

History of LEGO Bricks

We want to promote playing with Lego bricks, because even though they are considered to be a child's toy, anyone at any age should use them. We are both in our late teens and still enjoy playing with Lego bricks. This post is just to share a bit of Lego history and maybe at a later point will show other Lego highlights. The following history was taken from wikipedia.com.

The Lego Group had humble beginnings in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a poor carpenter from Billund, Denmark. Ole Kirk started creating wooden toys in 1932, but it wasn't until 1949 that the famous plastic Lego brick was created.

The company name Lego was coined by Christiansen from the Danish phrase leg godt, meaning "play well." The Lego Group claims that "Lego" means "I put together" or "I assemble" in Latin, though this is a rather liberal translation.

In 1947, Ole Kirk and Godtfred obtained samples of interlocking plastic bricks produced by the company Kiddicraft. These "Kiddicraft Self-Locking Building Bricks" were designed and patented in the UK by Mr. Hilary Harry Fisher Page, a child psychologist. A few years later, in 1949, Lego began producing similar bricks, calling them "Automatic Binding Bricks." These bricks, manufactured from cellulose acetate, were developed in the spirit of traditional wooden blocks that could be stacked upon one another; however, these plastic bricks could be "locked" together. They had several round "studs" on top, and a hollow rectangular bottom. They would stick together, but not so tightly that they couldn't be pulled apart.

The use of plastic for toy manufacture was not highly regarded by retailers and consumers of the time. Many of the Lego Group's shipments were returned, following poor sales; it was thought that plastic toys could never replace wooden ones.

By 1954, Christiansen's son, Godtfred, had become the junior managing director of the Lego Group. It was his conversation with an overseas buyer that struck the idea of a toy system. Godtfred saw the immense potential in Lego bricks to become a system for creative play, but the bricks still had some problems from a technical standpoint: their "locking" ability was limited, and they were not very versatile. It wasn't until 1958 that the modern-day brick design was developed.

Over the years many more Lego sets, series, and pieces were created, with many innovative improvements and additions, culminating into the colorful versatile building toys that we know them as today.

8-Bit Character Samples & Information

When ordering an 8-bit Character Sample, make sure to check the list of already completed Characters. Any character that is already made results in a discounted price. Characters that need to be created have a higher price.

Note: If there is a premade character that you want, but in a different pose that will be charged as full price due to the fact that it needs to be created.

Also when ordering an 8-bit character make sure it is 8-bit!! 8-bit characters are characters from the NES and back. SNES CHARACTERS ARE TOO COMPLEX AND CANNOT BE MADE.

Also...again...when ordering include, if you decide to have text, what it says, what color, and what font.

Gaian Item Samples and Information

This is an experimental section that will take some time to get polished. PLEASE have patience when ordering a Gaian item due to the fact that Gaian items are not 8-Bit! We feel that we can create certain items if they are simple enough.

When ordering a Gaian Item state which ITEM (please no more than one at a time) you wish to order and we will look at it, and then decide if it is possible.

Again PLEASE have patience!

This section currently has no samples.
Create Your Own!

This section is dedicated to those BRAVE enough to create their own pattern, but do not have the Legos or the means to create it. We will make it and take a picture of it for you!

This is for those that are handy with sprites, or any other 8-bit creation.

Due to the fact that these can be very complex, there will be a "price meeting" prior to starting and completing the creation.

Closing Remarks

This store was created mostly to give us something to do with our LEGO Bricks, but also to promote creativity and to show all that Legos really have to offer!

Legos are more than just blocks that you can click together...they are tools to show off one's imagination!

The good thing is that LEGO is regaining their ground after a horrible loss of funds of dumping it into electronics (games, animations, and other mainstream things).

This is a great site to check out new creations.

Another great site (maybe even better) to check out new creations.

Mecha LEGO Creations... awesome...

So get out there, find your LEGO Bricks, wipe the dust off, and create!
Bleh...
Just trying to set up the pictures!

bumpies and good luck heart
