So, what's the deal?
I'm bored

...Right. Bit more detail please?
Okay! I've been getting a bit bored since I quit modding, so I decided to run an art contest! It's four contests in one! Two, technically, but since one is in three parts and each part has prizes, I'm counting it as four.

Awesome. What are the contests?
The first is fanart from the anime series BLEACH - because Ichigo, Rukia, Karin, and Yuzu are hot.

Did you just say Karin & Yuzu are hot? Aren't they like 10?
Fine. They're "cute". Better?

Much. What's the second contest?
Well, my mind runs a million miles an hour, and I make up lots of characters. But sometimes I can't finish creating them. So the second contest is to finish designing three characters!

What are the prizes?
50k first place, 30k second place, 20k third place. 100k total prizes per contest!

How will prizes be distributed if there aren't enough contestants?
All prizes will be rewarded if there are at least three contestants. If there are only two contestants, first and second prize will be rewarded. Third prize will be given if there is only one contestant. This is per contest - number of entries in one contest will not affect prizes in another contest.

When does the contest end?
December 31 (11:59pm EST) is the deadline for entries. Prizes will be distributed some time in January 06.

How do people enter this contest?
All they need to do is draw the pictures I specify in further posts, and upload to a deviantArt account! Then they either post the link here, or send a Note to cassidypeterson on deviant!

Do they need a deviantArt account?
Yes, they do. For organization purposes, easier methods of giving credit, and as an attempt to cut down on cheating, I am requiring all entries to be submitted to deviantArt.

Any other requirements to join?
No actual "requirements", but contestants who joined Gaia after August 22nd will be scrutinized for muling more closely than those who joined before.

That doesn't seem quite fair.

Rules for BLEACH fanart contest

Simple backgrounds are best. This is not to say a solid/flat color is the only option, but the focus should be on the characters, not the setting
Excluding copyright information, text is to be limited to what I specify in the description of the entry.
Ichigo/Rukia entries must be in color.
You can enter both the Ichigo/Rukia and Yuzu/Karin categories, and submit as many entries as you like to the design contest, but you can only win one contest!
No more than two artists per image. If a collaborative image wins, the prize will be split in half and shared equally per artist.
If one of the artists in a collaboration wishes the full prize to go to their partner, they must post and say so. Call me a skeptic, but I need to hear it from the person giving up the prize, not the person the prize is going to.
Contestants entering the Ichigo/Rukia category must provide a screenshot of Rukia in whichever dress the artist has drawn her in.

I plan on finding out if submitting multiple entries through multiple usernames can be reported to the moderators as scamming. All users who do this will be disqualified regardless of what the mods say about it.

BLEACH fanart contest

FIRST OPTION: ICHIGO & RUKIA
Ichigo & Rukia back-to-back, leaning against each other. Ichigo in his Shinigami outfit. Rukia in any of the dresses she wears in the series. She cannot be wearing her Shinigami outfit or school uniform. Rukia staring into space. Both of them holding the same red spirit thread (for those of you who haven't seen episodes involving a Shinigami's spirit thread, it's like a thick red ribbon). Across the top of the image, text Who's gonna comfort me and keep me strong? (you don't need to make it this color tho' xp ) Text is not optional. If you don't like Ichigo and Rukia as a couple, then think of it as a very close work partnership. If you "just can't draw" a pairing you don't support, then don't.

SECOND OPTION: YUZU & KARIN
Yuzu & Karin holding hands and dressed in simple angel costumes. Pose is entirely up to you, but both of them must be looking "forward" at the viewer. And please remember that "simple" is not defined by "heavy embroidery and excessive frills". Optional text: KUROSAKI atop the image, with the girls' names at the sides of the image.

You are allowed to enter an image for each option, but you can only win once. Both options are being judged as part of the same contest.

Rules for fantasy character design contest

Do not forget that these are my characters. The winners will be credited with participation in character design in any future images I draw or request of them, but they are my characters and cannot be used without my permission.

All three characters have solid colored fur.
V.K. and Malcolm do not have human ears. Ellowell's ears are described in his specific description.
If you're gonna draw them pantless, they all wear simple boxers.
One character per entry.
Color images must follow the colors in the references provided

Please draw the full character! Headshots & waist-up are allowed, but fullbody is preferable for judging the overall design.

V.K. design contest
Part squirrel. A big guy with a soft spot in his heart for little girls. Sometimes accused of being a *****, he just has an overactive "big brother" complex. Not afraid to beat on people who harrass his "little sisters", though he prefers intimidation methods over actual violence. His favorite ice cream is caramel sundaes with chocolate chip ice cream.

V.K. has the ears and tail of a squirrel. He is muscular, but within reason; images depicting V.K. with DBZ-like muscles are guaranteed not to win any prizes, because the kneecap is not a ******** muscle, and DBZ muscles are just creepy anyways. He is not a "pretty boy", but I'll leave it up to you whether he's actually ugly or not. Feel free to draw him with barettes, bows, nailpolish, etc if you want to emphasize the time he spends with girls, but they won't be considered part of the design. Images depicting personality traits mentioned in his description will be favored over images that don't, but are not guaranteed to win if the design is unappealing. Young adult to middle-age is preferable but any age is accepted

Malcolm design contest
Part mouse. All scholar. Dresses in nice clothes and wears gold-rimmed glasses. Has a scar on his right arm/hand, running from his mid-forearm to the web between his thumb and index finger. He makes no effort to actively hide it but tends to wear clothes that cover it. Often looks serious, but can usually be caught daydreaming whenever he has a spare moment.

Malcom has the ears and tail of a mouse, the only parts of him with fur*. Malcolm is physically fit, but on the lean side, and while far from ugly he is also not very attractive either. Images depicting personality traits mentioned in his description will be favored over images that don't, but are not guaranteed to win if the design is unappealing. Middle-aged is preferable but any age is accepted. The scar should be left out of images depicting him as a child or young teen.

*edit: Okay, apparently real mice don't have fur on their ears & tails. Too bad Malcolm's not a real mouse xp His design is as stated, and his ears & tail are to be colored according to the reference. But I would like to thank the person who gave me this information anyways 3nodding

Ellowell design contest
Part unicorn. Loves to cook. Very bright, but aside from kitchen tools and basic things like lamps and telephones, he's technologically inept. And even in the kitchen, he prefers to do anything by hand that he can. Very much a pretty boy, and wears a silver locket around his neck.

Ellowell has pointed ears, but they are not elongated. His horn is no longer than his fingers. He has a lion-like tail, the only part of his body with actual fur. Images depicting personality traits mentioned in his description will be favored over images that don't, but are not guaranteed to win if the design is unappealing. Adolescent or young adult is preferable but any age is accepted.

Give V.K. a name! The "K" is for his middle name, not his last name.

Get this... his name is.... Dvei Kaye... Wait- people, don't berate me about "ZOMGS it's supposed to start with V!!!!!!!!" Well I know. And so does he. However, he hates trying to explain that "Dvei" is pronounced like the letter "V," so he just shortened his name up to V.K.

This retarded name inspired by a name that left a lasting impression on me from elementary school. That name is Dzeuye- pronounced "Z."
