[i:70b8de3ff9]Welcome friend and fellow writer to The Writer's Guild, a haven for writers of all sorts within the Gaia community. We are a growing group of diverse and creative people, who come together to share our works and develop our skills. We are open to all memebers, from those seriously persuing a career as published authors, song writers or journalists, to those who simply write for the sheer joy of expression.

We strive to offer a supportive, interactive environment for our writers where they can obtain helpful and encouraging feedback. Our crew are helpful and friendly, and more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have about the guild.

If you're thinking about joining, we invite you to please browse and guild and read through the rules, to make absolutely certain that this is the right guild for you. We do require at least minimal particiapation within the guild from our members, which is what makes a guild like this work.

If we haven't scared you off, and would still like to join, here are a few tips and hints that you may wish in make use of in your request:[/i:70b8de3ff9]

1. Don't leave it blank! This is our first impression of you, and if you can't make the effort to tell us why you'd like to join the guild, what does that say about what you'd be like as a member?

2. Read the rules? Tell us! It's wonderful to see people who have taken the iniative and done their homework on the guild.

3. When writing your request, however long or short it is, type words out rather than using "2" and other net slang and abbrivations. Not only is it horribly improper grammar, but this is our first exposure to you as a writer. And it doesn't really take that much more time to write the words out properly. wink

4. If you feel that a sample of your writing would help us decide, please feel free to provide us with a link. This is completely optional, however, as are the rest of these suggestions.

5. Looking for inspiration is great, but what are you able to offer the guild? It has to be a two way street, so if you're only looking to receive feedback and seek out inspiration, perhaps another guild or the writers sub-forum would be better suited to you.
