Suicide Prevention and in Memory of Those Lost- In 2001, suicide claimed the lives of 30,622 US citizens, and 132,353 more were hospitalized for suicide attempts. It is estimated that an average of six people are suicide "survivors" for each suicide that occurs in the United States.
- Suicide can be a devastating circumstance, not only to those who have lost someone to it, but to those who have felt suicidal sometime in his or her life. The grief and depression can continue years after the incident.
However, here at SP/ML, we strive to bring together a community dedicated to helping one another in difficult times. We are not professionals - we are just average, ordinary people just like you. There is strength in numbers, and together, we can overcome the depression, the grief, and the continuous cycle.
