Long before them, the Clan cats' ancestors created a system and a split of the forest. They set down rules to be obeyed by every Clan, formally known as the Warrior Code. They arranged that every month on the full moon, leaders (whom have nine lives given to them by StarClan) would appoint a number of Clan members to join them on a journey to Fourtrees, a place where four large trees stand together in the center of the forest, to meet in peace with the other Clans and report news to each other. Now there are four Clans, just as it has been since their ancestors first laid down the forest rules, now the rules of StarClan. These four Clans are ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan. They all honor and obey the rules of StarClan. StarClan, being a kind of clan cat heaven, contains the deceased warriors, apprentices, kits, medicine cats, and others, the clan cats' ancient ancestors. Leaders and Medicine Cats occasionally have dreams and visions of meeting cats from StarClan, usually ones they knew from when they were alive. Sometimes they will tell the leader or medicine cat that there is danger afoot, and give clues to how to resolve it or to what it might be, but they never completely tell you, at least not in one dream. It is all a prophecy to be looked into by the medicine cats, although sometimes they cannot understand the meaning of what the StarClan cat is saying (example: Water can quench Fire).

Although the Clans try to keep peace with one another, battles sometimes break out, whether they be over border controls, raids, or others. Most clan cats go on border patrols or hunting. They hunt for mice, rabbits, voles, chaffinches, and pigeons. On the other side of the forest lays a place the Clan cats call Twolegplace. It is right off of Treecut place and Tallpines. It is where the twolegs and kittypets live. Kittypets are house cats. They know nothing of StarClan or the Warrior Code. There are also Loners, who are kittypet runaways, strays, or Clan cats either kicked out of their own Clan or cats who left on purpose. Every ranking and position of the forest is an important one, and with three qualities of cats, Clan cats, Kittypets, and Loners, they build an extraordinary RP story you'll want to be a part of.
