THE HORSE TRAINERS' GUILD

Welcome to the Horse Trainers' Guild!
HTG is a guild run by x.Marsh[mel]low.x (Mel) and horseluvrelisha (Elisha). We are a restricted-access horse elitist guild, and welcome trainers of all experience levels. However, it is still a horse-elitist guild. If you are even starting to train horses, we will assume that you are very knowledgeable as far as horses go, and expect you to be competent. We do not accept beginner horse riders or workers.
If you are interested in this guild, please read through the full front page. Thank you for your interest!
To join this guild, you must be compatible with other guild members, open-minded to other training techniques, and be able to take a n** in the butt if someone decides to express their opinion in a blunt manner, or if they venture to tell you that something is wrong. Horse trainers may be fun-loving dorks, but we tell it like it is. Just remember that offense is rarely intended.
Inside, feel welcome to discuss anything equine-related. We offer a variety of subforums, and for off-topic chat we have an off-topic chat thread.
However, as this is a horse-elitist guild, people may critique you, offer facts that may contradict your horse beliefs, or put forth information at any given time. In joining the guild, you are agreeing that you are open to equine criticism (critisism in a possitive, progressive manner). Offense is never meant when it comes to these things. We’re here to help each other.
And last but not least, don’t be afraid to let yourself be known as an expert. If you see something wrong, let the person know in a polite manner, or offer your advice if a person is having troubles.
HTG rules:
Let's get started. It may seem that there are a lot of rules, but they are ALL easy/second nature to follow, so don't be intimidated!
1. No open flaming of people, their horses, or their training. Debates/reprimandings/discussions, yes. Flaming, no. There's a difference between harsh and rude.
2. Type with at least half-decent grammar and spelling. We realize that no one is perfect, but "you" has two more letters than "u" and is a hundred times easier on the eyes. No chatspeak, alright? LOLZ K?! ...
3. No Nazis. Not to step on anyone, but if you have a MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY attitude, your a** will be banned so fast. There's a difference between what's "right" and what's "opinion".
4. You must mention blueberry cupcakes in your request. I love how I picked something that doesn’t exist.
5. Minimal swearing... the odd F-bomb won't hurt anyone.
6. No mules allowed in the guild. They remain inactive unless an issue with the person arises, and then they become a problem.
7. You must remain active in the guild. We don't expect a lot, just an odd post. You WILL be banned for inactivity.
Please remember to visit the rules thread upon your entry of the guild. There is useful information in there.
UPDATE: to prevent inactivity in the guild, you will have one week after you join to make your first post, and we ask that you please post at least once per couple weeks, with competent posts. We’re fun people to talk to… and just posting a message that says “hi” and thinking “okay, I posted, it’s all good” doesn’t cut it. If you don’t contribute to the guild, you will be banned (just to prevent confusion, that is not a demand for you to donate gold to us, just for you to post). If you are not able to post for an extended amount of time, please let us know. There is a place inside the guild for you to do that.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to the rules, do not hesitate to contact x.Marsh[mel]low.x or horseluvrelisha. We don't bite... hard.
Sending a join request:
After you've read through the message above (it'll only take a couple minutes, so if you haven't read it already go back and do it; horse trainers can't be lazy, now, can they?) and agreed with the rules, we ask you to fill out the following form honestly. As before stated, this is a horse elitist guild and we don't want beginners to come in here and try to pretend to be something they're not. There are other horse guilds on Gaia that accept beginners, so you may direct yourself there. If you are caught lying in this guild, you will be banned and blacklisted.
Fill out the form completely. Take your time, think about your answers, and for the love of everything equine, type out your words. Chat speak-typed requests will be DENIED.
NOTE: If you are arrogant, vague, or rude in your request, you will be DENIED, no matter your skill with horses. Saying you've trained between "10 and 1000 horses" is not enough. Becoming arrogant is even worse. We do not welcome arrogance into our guild. Thank you.
NOTE: If you feel this form is not worth your time and decide to bypass it, you will be denied. Please don't take it as insulting your intelligence, we simply wish to keep the membership in this guild limited to the advanced horsemanship.
