have you ever heard of the republic of Oricium? how about the "war of Quarantine"? The great whirl? Majic? nope? well it all happened. after the incident of The great whirl, a great storm that swept over the small island nation (tarnishing its lands with a mist of the mysterious, almost sentient, Majic) other nations around the world decided to quarantine the island and its inhabitants for fear of Majic spreading.

Majic: the byproduct of the great whirl. there have been appearances of this strange force around the planet under many names such as Magic, voodoo, chakra (etc.). as it decended from the great whirl, it infected almost everything it came into contact with. the land, the plants, the wildlife and even the people. some changes where barely noticed. some where drastic such as a change in color, a feint glow, or a sudden ferocity. many things where uninfected, including many of the people.
those who where infected became something else completely. after a while, certian children, now called the whirl generation, began to gain powers and attributes of the infected. these children have been shunned by a society that was also shut off.

The Calst: some plants, animals and even people became infected and as a side-affect mutated into a scarred, malevolent and logic-less form. these "monsters" as they have been called, are held in the Xero district of the island.


IndustiA Academy for the Gifted: 20 years after the great whirl, Dr. Azua Valentine opened a school with the intent of housing, teaching, and studying the children of the whirl generation. as the population increased, so did the schools reputation. now the school even takes in people who have been exiled from the entire world.
