--- Welcome to SLR! Here at the Society, we strive to help you improve and refine your roleplaying skills. Keep in mind that this is a literate to advanced literate roleplaying guild and you will be held up to certain standards, as well as required to submit a sample of your writing. After we've gotten through all of the paperwork, though, this guild is really here to help YOU find other roleplayers with similar interests and tastes.

Becoming A Member

To join the Society of Literate Roleplayers, we require a simple blood sacrifice and oath of loyalty-- I mean... we require a simple sample of your writing.

Be sure to include:

»Your reason for applying
»A sample of your Roleplay writing from a literate or advanced literate RP (LINKS ONLY PLEASE)

Requirements

The main requirement is that members know how to roleplay well and be able to form coherent sentences in novel format. The basic criteria are as follows:

Third person, past tense.
There are some exceptions to this rule, as roleplays can be conducted in first person. However, each roleplay should be consistent in the point-of-view and tense used.

Correct spelling and grammar.
Double check what you've written before submitting it. Although mistakes are to be expected, you always have time to go over your post before sending it. If you still aren't sure, use spell-check.

Two paragraphs per post.
Your posts should consist of eight to ten clear and well thought out sentences. There is no need to rush your posts and continuous one-liners will not be accepted.

No symbols or emotes to express actions.
There are plenty of ways to depict action and expression through words rather than using asterisks and emoticons. Use of symbols and emotes will result in banning. This is only acceptable when speaking in OOC.
