This clan is named for the fictional mercenary dispatching company from the Metal Gear series of games. If you haven't played, I would recommend it. But anyway, it wasn't just a company in the story, it was an idea, a vision - Big Boss's vision. It was his ambition to create a place where the dying race of soldiers can exist and not be used for corrupt ends by politicians. This ambition would later be taken on by his 'sons', his genetic progeny Liquid and Solidus Snake.

This might seem to romanticize mercenaries just a little, so I'm going to bring it back and throw you some totally objective information about mercenaries themselves, straight from the brilliant minds of Wikipedia. This should really help if you're not really sure what a mercenary does.

(About Mercenaries)

If you don't feel like reading it, the basic summary is mercenaries fight in battles for a side in exchange for compensation from that side or on behalf of that side. They're not necessarily good or bad, but it really goes without saying that sometimes it can get out of hand. It is for that reason that there will be a moral code, to be outlined and scribed (in your blood O.O) at a later date.

Basically, this is a clan for just about anyone who wants to be in it. We are a completely neutral clan and we will take direct part in armed conflicts, but never full-scale war. Our only allies, in the most permanent sense, are ourselves, and we will never have official enemies. Therefore, should one clan seek retribution by attacking someone who had nothing to do with a prior conflict, we will go medievil on their respective asses, however we cannot hold a grudge. ;P
