If you do, why? In the mood for a debate.

I do. And what kinds of gore are under debate? Don't ask me why, I just do.

Kay. Maybe because my life is completely boring, and nothing interesting happens, and gore is very interesting, and completely the opposite of what happens in my life, so I like it... I guess. I guess also since I'm kinda morbid and sadistic underneath everything. Plus things without gore get kinda boring. Gore has a certain appeal, as well. Maybe that's why I like it..? I think it's influence from my sister. She wants to open up dead people at a mortuary when she gets older.

Exactlly mrgreen

It just has that certain appeal. Life is so boring, cuz the most gore you'll most likely ever see is a bloody cut, cracked head, scrapped knee, so on. And thats just so... lame. So if we cant see the real gory stuff in real life without getting on the most wanted list and having the world hate you, why not read about it in gory books? biggrin Like you said, things that don't have gore get very boring, very fast. Seriously, books that dont have at least some form of violence or gore are almost always such a bore to read!

But why do you enjoy blood and pain and death? I can't see any reason for liking pain. If that happened to you I'm sure you wouldn't be compelled.

That's exactly it though. Because it's happening to fictional characters I dont feel so bad for liking it. I dont necessarily like pain blood and death in real life, because in real life it's well... real. But in fictional stories.. Actually.. I still don't know why I like it. I guess its just another confussing life mystery. I hope I don't sound phycotic, but reading about it satisfies me in a way- while when it's happening for real, it makes me a little uneasy. I have no clue why though.

I understand. Its like, in shoot-em-up video games, we shouldn't really enjoy them. At the end of a book I once read, Shadow of the Minotaur, the last page was simply: "What a corrupted world this must be where death is a game for children" (Or something along those lines). You're killing people, but it just relievs stress.

Exactly, I guess. It really doesn't make sense, eh? Also, with fictional things, it's not as bad, no matter how much detail there is, as the real thing. So it doesn't make me feel as... 'eeeh' about it.

Well in a way, its better to be reading, or playing about killing things vs. actually going out and killing people neutral You're right, it is a good stress reliever

Shadow of the Minitor- i read that book.
but me and my mum like the gore, although in Lord Loss, it does get a little too much at one point, but i still love the books, i'm just a little squeamish.

I like the gore. I'd go more in depth about why, but all my opinions have already been said... domokun
