I was just wondering if any one has problems with their moods during certain types of weather. For example, it's been overcast and raining here on and off for eight days and I'm starting to feel very down and tired.

It could be a combination of lower light and lower air pressure.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a form of depression that occurs in winter when daylight hours are shorter.

Thanks. A friend of mine said a similar thing and wondered if I should take a vitamin D supplement. The sun's been out for the past two days, so I am doing a little better.

I've been seeing a nutritionist and take 5000 iu of vitamin D daily (among other things.)

Here's an interesting article about vitamin D. Good luck.

I take a multi vitamin with some extra vitamin D and my family are being very supportive. Have also discovered a few other things that may be contributing to my blues. Ta for taking the time to reply.

I've heard it referred to as both and I guess the combo of overcast/rainy weather in conjunction with working nights would be a double whammy.

The guy i work with has the same as you guys.
I know you are strong enough to make it through!!
I, myself am not affected by the weather, so i can only try to empathise with you guys. I guess, just meditate and support and trying to be positive are all the no medical/drug ways to cope...

I've tried chocolate and that seems to give me a quick boost but it often leaves me craving for more or I feel sick. I try to walk as often as possible, but that's difficult when it's raining. Have just begun meditation, so here's hoping that may help, too. Oh, and I have great support, too, especially now that we all know what ails me.
