Pluto: We would be glad to have you on the team. =) Welcome to the Envy and Love room! =D Being good and experienced in art is always a bonus in the planning guild! And so is the rest of your skills. =3
For starters, on the first post on the first page of this thread, there's a run-through on how the planning goes. It's a really long list so take your time to read though them and grapple the basic idea of the planning. It can be mind-boggling and hard to understand with the sheer amount of work, and why we must do it, but don't worry. We're taking things one at a time, so in time things will clear themselves eventually. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. =D We're here to help.
Our current focus is fundraising. We have one fundraiser up, but it's not limited to one only. This is where you come in: Do you have any suggestions or ideas for a fundraiser? An art shop, or art auction, that could put your skills to use? Since none of us here are very familiar with your field, it would be wonderful if you can share your experiences with us. =D You won't be doing this alone though: We'll all be helping you in the brainstorming and planning, we just need a good idea, and someone who knows what she's doing.
Again, welcome to our room! =D

Cakes: Nuuuuuu okay, I admit, it's kinda down in the dumps, but it's not a lost cause. There must be something we're not doing right. If Blueforest fares well, how can't we? Is it in the advertising? The bumps? Or the (bumping) work force? We must search for the problem!
But... I say give it a go on your fundraiser. It is quite a unique idea. =D Yes, if it's possible, please put the guild down in the affiliates, and don't mind us if we run around your thread bumping with some adverts of the Ball. xD
Dusky: I STILL enjoy poking yuu. Mwuhahahahahaha! And I remember someone telling a certain someone bout how fun skiing and snow, if you know what I mean... *wiggles eyebrow* Ah, such fond, fond memories. Sitting down on a bench surrounded my snow and icy wind, staring at the dark sky thinking about all these makes you warm. =3
No, I'll be leaving on the 26th my time, which is the 25th your time. xD I'll be spending Christmas in Malaysia with a good, good friend. I'll be reaching England on the 27th, noon local time. Hahaha, great idea! =D =D =D *scribbles it on the top of to-do-list before term starts once reaching England* Unfortunately we don't have a campus for my college. :/ Just a tiny part of town, but it's okay. xD It's a really small school, with only 300+ students.
Ohhhhhh I smell lovely sisterly bond here. <3 We'll need to think over the idea, kay? =D But, please, if there's a next time, introduce yourself when you enter the room, kay? We were quite suspicious of who you were until Ninja introduced you, so we're not sure how to address ya. =)

@Shunatsu:
Thanks for the warm welcome! Just got finished reading all the guidelines and the planning list, and I after stalking some old posts, I'm pretty sure I see how things are going. I'll definitely ask if I have any questions.
What's our current fundraiser, and how are things going? Do we have an art fundraiser yet? I'd definitely love to offer my services if we have one running, or help plan and develop one if we don't. I've got three different styles of art I mainly do, so I've got shops and samples all over the place, but just for the most recent samples from all three styles.. [Standard] [Soft (typically bribe-only)] and [Chibi]. I can also do animations with all three styles, and have before.
As for experience outside the art world, I've done a few things.
Here on Gaia, my biggest impact was definitely the charity for Insanity I coordinated and ran, after a good friend and fellow artist got into a car crash and dropped into a coma. After he woke up, his sister was able to surprise him by printing every art piece and posting them all around his hospital bed... and it really brightened both he and his family up to see that there were so many people supporting him, even in an online community setting.
In the real world, I've volunteered with the disabled population for five years offering my services as a snowboard instructor, peer support group, intern at several occupational therapy groups (the most notable being the Special Olympics and Outdoors For All here in Seattle), etc. etc. Leadership experience includes a four-year membership in my high school's FFA, including one year as president, an Outstanding Leadership award as a camp counselor for the YMCA, and a Charitable Teen award from my high school.
As you can see, I've done way more in real life than I have here on Gaia, but I definitely want to make a difference and help make this the best year yet!

Wow. Looks like we've got a talented artist with a big heart on our team! biggrin those drawings sure are adorable! <3 (especially the chibi ones!) Trust me, you'll get the overwhelming satisfaction of making a difference you seek for when the Ball comes. Perhaps even more. ^w^ From personal experience, the Ball shall not fail you! So far it hasn't on anybody. XD
Alright, let me run a few things for you I forgot to mention earlier. The 1st page of the thread is like the Holy Book of Information. It contains every important information for all in the room. Currently, our fundraiser is Neon Bananas, a charity that runs by selling signature badges in return of Gaia Gold and certain items. You can find the link to the thread on the front page of this thread. All the money gained shall be stored out the room mule, Chloris Floral. The room mule serves as a sort of piggy bank. Whoever donates to the room send trades to her, including ourselves (in fact, most of the money gained now come from our pockets :/). Again, you can find her name on the front page of this thread.
Right now, we are still in the very beginning stages of the planning (and also one of the tedious stages): Fundraising. As for your question: No. We don't have an art fundraiser yet, as none of us here are artists (maybe except Dusky). That's why we'll need all the help we can get, especially from you. =) What do you draw best? And from your experiences, do you think holding an art auction or art shop is the best way to roll in some Gold? We'll work our way from here. =D
