A Reluctant Killer

Bana stopped running and turned around not feeling tired at all then gripped her bracelet worriedly. “Did the mister evil bandit give up?” Bana asked herself out loud and gripped the bracelet harder causing the bracelet to glow slightly. Bana’s orange eyes scanned the foliage around her feeling uneasy.

Niko had been temporarily distracted, but he quickly went after the bandit chasing Bana. Following him through the trees, he was very quiet and quick; he wasn't completely human, after all. When the bandit stopped, Niko noticed where they were and bit his lip slightly. He would attack Bana when she came. Not if he could help it.

He slipped out of the tree, landing on the ground behind the bandit in a fighters crouch. Crackling white light gathered around his palms, and he lashed out with it, trying to use the energy as a rope to restrict the bandits movement. No matter what he couldn't cause any bloodshed.

Yuki went around the whole group, to behind the bandits. They had to be taking their orders from someone... She snuck through the bushes, looking around for anyone else.

The bandit jumped down to Berona. "You're toast, girlie." He said mockingly. His voice sounded somewhat raspy. He charged for Berona.

Mariah grabbed the necklace from up the tree. Still covered in shadows, she spoke. "Why Irene, It's been a long time. No matter, I knew you would give me the necklace sooner or later." Mariah jumped from the tree and landed facing Irene in-between her and her trapped bandit. "Can't control your powers now, can you? Dosen't matter, I'll just control your power and increase mine two fold! Is that okay with you?" Mariah laughed mockingly, tossed the necklace a bit up in the air and caught it again. "I thought so."

((O.o I feel like I missed something. Who's Berona? Do you mean Bana? If yes, then sure, let's do the part without her. Since Niko's over with her now, I'll just leave him out as well.))

Yuki watched from behind the girl Mariah, frowning slightly. "Is there a connection between them?" She murmured to herself. Hidden behind the bushes, she called her horse over silently; the mare had followed her through the bushes. Pulling her quiver off its back and slinging it over her shoulder, she strung her bow and placed an arrow to it. Turning back to face Mariah, she pulled the string taut and sighted the arrow on the bandits back, ready to fire should she try to attack Irene. Yuki didn't know much about Niko's new friends, but if they were willing to put up with Shadow then they were good people, and Yuki didn't plan to let her brothers only friends be injured here.

Mariah set the spike ablaze. "Ah, fast as ever. Let's see how fast you really are!" Mariah held up the necklace and it began to glow. "You cannot fight it Irene! I control you now!"

"Not for much longer," Murmured Yuki under her breath, changing her target to the hand holding the necklace. A small target yes, but Yuki was a trained priestess, and archery was as much her specialty as healing. Taking aim, she released the arrow with a soft and barely audible thwak.

Mariah felt the necklace fly from her hand. "No!" She turned violently to the source and noticed Yuki. A small grin suddenly formed on her mouth. "Good strategy, getting me when I least expect it. Well, you won't be so lucky a second time mark my words!" Mariah turned the whole way to her and cut away the vines over one of her bandits as if with just one swis of her hand. "Guard my frozen friend while I take care of this nusiance." Mariah then charged toward Yuki

Mariah stopped in her tracks. "Don't!" The bandit gave it a final crush, breaking it to pieces. A rainbow of colors poured out and disappeared. Mariah felt enraged. "You idiot! Do you know what you just did?!" The bandit looked at her in confusion.
