To be quite honest, the only bit of advice I have about commissioning.. is to make sure you make clear what you're willing to draw, and have many separate categories.. and few slots. I overloaded before.. and it wasn't pretty. T3T

I always smile through grit teeth and accept it, but secretly there's a whole scenario going on in my brain where I'm slamming their face into my sketchbook repeatedly. I'm not violent in real life (and I am a counsellor to violent offenders...lmao), but my thoughts are a whole different ball of wax over which I have no control. If they should ever take over one day. twisted

I don't mind critiques at all; honest. I'm glad to hear there is honest help available. There's one creative friend of mine who really gets under my skin though. This guy has a self-published comic book series designed around a dot with arms and legs and he can't draw hands, so he won't. When he grabs my book and starts going at it, that's when I take offense. I just want to scream, "Listen, Captain Dimensionless... Learn to draw and then come back to see me!" Actually, I think he's the only one on this planet who's ever pissed me off with a critique. I feel magically purged now and can go about my day without incident. Oh wait... There's also this other guy on Gaia who can't draw at all and does the same thing. ...sigh...

I agree with you about the whole critique thing 3nodding There's a time for them, and there's a time for a praise/flame X) But that guy you mention, he reminds me of a b***h named 'Chan'. She could barely even draw, seriously, her talent only comes up to below-par eyeballed pictures D: And she had the GUTS to say that "You're character's bottom lips are too big". No, they're fine. "You're character's look so real." That was my intention.

THEN she went on saying "Of course you aren't popular like AJ*! You don't draw in anime-style!" I was so tempted to flip her off and yell about how there's no right or wrong in art~ To add salt to the injury, a friend of her's eyeballed a D.N.Angel cover and was so proud of it. Conversation went as follows:

Friend: Of course I did >:0
