AD >> I've seen 'WTF' around on the net, but never bothered to ask anyone what it meant. xd I knew what the rest of them were, but that one wasn't one I saw often enough to ask.

Memai >> I honestly do love a good critique. I honestly dislike uneducated critiques. I'm not the least bit worried about being critiqued here. LOL! Why are we so defensive of our work anyway? I think it's the hours of work we put into some of them. Of course, if it does suck, it doesn't matter how long it took you...It's still going to suck. *...sigh...all those dead trees in my trash can...*

I hope she didn't sign it as her own. eek And popular? I bet you could be popular too if you eyeballed everyone else's work. xd Your popularity can't be defined by one small corner of the internet either. Yay!

Thankfully, the two I mentioned previously are the only ones I get PO'd at. I'm extremely easy to get along with...maybe too easy. ninja My apologies, but at 7:30 am, I just had an irrisistible compulsion to rant about it. "Good morning! Hear me b***h!" LOL! Sorry about that. redface

EDITZORZ: For those of you who have already heard this story, please skip it. It's really for Muse and QA's benefit.

Not that I'm denying I have Alzheimer's. This simply isn't an example of my amazing superpower of repeating myself indefinitely.

*quickrantpost*

While we're on the subject of eyeballing and taking credit...

My friend and I were watching some stupid show on the MTV where some guy goes into girls' rooms and decides who he wants to date based on what they own. One girl had a bunch of art stashed under her bed which was "accidentally" found. One piece was an exact (albeit less talented) replica of a piece by Amanda Francis (www.luvluv.net) of a girl in a straightjacket. And this girl claimed it as her own. Someone else said to her, "Wow, you're really good" and she had the nerve to say, "Thanks."

Now, before the possibility presents itself, this girl wasn't Amanda Francis. I did the research, and there's no way.

AD - OMG, you had that exact rant the last time you say that episode. I remember it so clearly. But I'm not sure if it was in the old guild or this one. Either way it me laugh and then pissed me off again.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:58 am
Akahoshi - Yeah, I had to rant about it again for Muse's benefit.

Ugh. I STILL hate whoever that b***h was.

Koji > The word 'appeal' does not register in my head. biggrin

Ashram > Wow... China? Jeez. Jumping right into things, huh? That's good to hear.

AD > Yes, I do agree with that. Technology + Lang = Implosion.

Chibi Koji
AD~ Then in my defense
I spelled Goggle instead of Google in my resolution post.
B)

Unless you meant that you intended to search the internet for images with a pair of GOGGLES... which I doubt...
Besides, your INTENT was to spell 'google'. And in hell, intent counts for everything. (How do you think all the would-be ***** got here?)

Mystical_Muse > Welcome, welcome. To follow up what many others have already said: No, you are not eligible for Noob Status. Sorry. Although, that's a good thing. biggrin

Memai > -_- Sometimes people just sadden me. I hope 'Some guy' has his nipples fall off some day. biggrin

Hoshi > Rofl, wait, wait... this guy was TOLD that he smells? Ahahaha, the mental image of that is priceless. "Hey, you. Yeah... You smell."

QAtheTenkou > Hi there. biggrin

DarkishStar > Homigawd, I like blueberry pie. Or pumpkin pie. gaah so deceptively fruity. gonk

AD again > Wao! I remember that rant. It seems more condensed this time.
But honestly, wtf. Maybe she got sued for that stunt.

Aaaaaaand that has to be my longest post ever.

Lang - Only you could somehow work "*****" into an otherwise innocent post.

I have to be concise. I'm at work...and posting at Gaia can be dangerous...

Actually, I have work to do and I don't want overtime.

Having said that... ninja

I'll admit to "eyeballing" pictures, but as mentioned, it was practice. I'd let people drool over them as much as they wanted, I just wouldn't bother to say anything. If you told them you had a "base", they'd still go on about how talented you are. So I let them believe whatever they wanted.

My biggest problem was kinda the reverse. My senior year, I had this art teacher that expected everyone to be perfect, and would often try and compare my stuff (where I'd been drawing/coloring/painting for years) to theirs. This would piss me off, and start a fight. (And no, I don't think I'm a perfect artist.)

For instance, we were given a project to draw a face using pre-printed base lines and circles on a sheet of paper. One girl used some purple crayon. It was just a project to learn how to use those base lines and circles, why did the color matter? The teacher began harassing this girl that people aren't purple.

A biiiiig argument broke out between her and I. I made the comment about the color not mattering, I complained that if it did matter so much, why leave out a box of crayons for us to use? Et cetera. Finally she got mad and said if I could do her job so much better, why didn't I teach the class?

To her annoyance, I said I would and everyone cheered. She never gave me the opportunity xd But learned to back off a bit. She was the kind of teacher that would tell you you could do whatever you wanted for a project ("Pick something that represents who you are!") and then take it away from you saying you weren't doing it right. O_o; She would ACTUALLY take it away, and change it to suit what she thought it should be. Psycho.

And I still use bases. *Shrug* I just prefer live people instead, now. If I'm bored, and don't know what to draw, I'll look up random photos. It's also how my little photography adventures got started. I began wandering and taking random photos of stuff I wanted to draw. Slowly, it turned into stuff I just wanted to photograph. O_o; I'm not very good at photos with people in them, anyway. *nature junkie*

And I did notice people's obsession with the anime style, in school. I drew in many cartoon styles, but always with the anime. I still enjoy sketching like Craig Bartlett (creator of "Hey Arnold!"), a little like the early 90s Batman 'toon, and comic books. But everyone asked for anime. o_o;

Memai - Push brooms. Imagine Darth Maul.

Plus, in the main lot where characters roam about? Sometimes the comp controlled ones will start fighting. xD Obi Wan vs. Dooku...with brooms! And troopers firing from tea cups on the side! eek

rofl

Darkish - *hugs* I am certainly glad I am no longer in school. =D *enjoys the day off*

Favorite kind of pie? Pumpkin! That, or lemon meringue, without the fluffy crap on top. I scrape that off. xD It's why I like buying those $1 fruit pies. Mmm...lemon.

Piccie? Ooo~ It IS awesome...but I dunno. I constantly change my avvie's hairstyle because I'm so displeased with the choices. sweatdrop I'm starting to think they'll never have my hair! xd

Wendy - I'm not even sure if I type with my pinky. *stares at hand* I haven't paid attention since I stopped hen-pecking years ago. xd

FFX wasn't all that great anyway. Kinda short, too. *throws a rock at Tidus* Go get Lego Star Wars instead. *peddles*

Time, the fickle fellow.

Yume - They'll change. I'll decide then if it's better, or maybe I've just been looking at everything from the wrong angle. =P

And get back to work, slacker. xd
PostPosted: Tue Jan 10, 2006 11:34 am
QA >> LOL! No...I don't henpeck either. The Q and A are where we need to use our pinky finger (on QWERTY keyboards...is there another kind?). I use all of my fingers to type without looking (years of term papers... gonk ). So when I type 'QA', I have to... Oh never mind... LOL! You get the gist. xd

I totally forgot the pie question.

Hoshis' favorite type of pie: All of them.... Well not all of them, there are pies that have things in them that just don't need to be there.(Like mince meat pie) But all together I don't discriminate against pie, I love them all.

Ok, off to the food shop place so I can eat for the week. sweatdrop

Can I ask a general question here? I was just wondering how many draw with a mouse, draw with pen and scan or use a graphics tablet. I'm not looking for exact numbers, but just what the general consensus was on it. I draw with a mouse at the moment and when I'm really lazy, I'll draw with a pen and scan it. The mouse can be painful after awhile. I don't know how to do vectoring yet. redface Thanks!

Edit: YAY! I got some new books on CGing in the mail this afternoon. heart

O___O;

it's been only a day... bleh -____-;

Memai :: Yes i know! DX ... remember the cameras I planted in your house? >D

Muse :: she calls me man-skank because I changed my name to "Shiro Nishida" recently crying ... and because she heard it out of Lang's Mouth too gonk in this guild, Men are oppressed and persecuted.... not that I mind ... ninja

Darkish :: I enjoy Debussy as well, along with Joaquin Rodrigo's very famous, but not widely known Concierto de Aranjuez. As for pies... well... you got me there xd I like so many of them, choosing one would be too hard for me. sweatdrop

QA - whee for rants, man. whee for rants.

Blargh, though! FFX is all kinds of freaking sweet! Back off! Even though Tidus is a woman...

Muse - Tch. Did you NOT see the "No General Questions That Do Not Pertain To Pie" rule? Noob!

Uh...I'm old-school. Pencil, ink -> scan -> CG with a tablet. I never use my mouse anymore.

EDIT: OMFG I want!!

Shiro >> Hurray for male oppression and persecution! j/k whee

AD >>
I've been Noobified! eek rofl

Hurray for tradigital! I thought I was cheating doing it that way. I'm so glad people are still mixing it up. I hope to get my graphics tablet in the Spring provided my car doesn't fall apart...again... sweatdrop

Working with a mouse gives me carpal tunnel (not really) because I'm too stubborn (or stupid...be your own judge xd ) to stop in the middle of a project just because I can no longer feel the ends of my fingers and they have become permanently frozen in a claw. Hey! It's great for back scratching and Halloween costumes! xd

WTF??? I have to know what those are. I clicked on the link, but didn't see it and since I don't know what it's called... ninja LOL! I like the bleeding dude. 3nodding

QA>> If you ever catch me saying Home On the Range (which is the Disney movie you're thinking of) was good ... use this mind-altering thingy to fry what little of my brain I'd have left. Open Range stars Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall. 3nodding

READ DE COMIX!!!11 whee

Lang>> Everything just fell into place. I'm rather stunned by the speed myself. @_@

AD>> WHAT THE HECK ARE THOSE!?!?!?! *cowers in fear*

Those are USB flash drives, overly cute but a tad expensive, for 512MBs.
