I saw Silent Hill tonight, anyone else see it? It was very well done, I think. But...it left me feeling odd. I hate how impressionable some movies can be on me. gonk ;;

I've heard nothing but good things about Silent Hill so far, so I'm hoping it makes its way to theatres here. (I'd buy a DVD, but I can almost guarantee the quality will not be very good *or however you choose to describe the quality of something recorded from a camcorder in a theatre xd *)

QA - Ooooh! Another KH2 player! I bought it the day after it was released and hated it for five solid days. xd Pretty, yes. But tack on a less sophisticated battle system, awkward acting, lines of rather questionable eloquence and acutely painful renditions of beloved Final Fantasy characters...and the whole thing seemed like a disaster. At least the second 20 hours were better.

AD: I actually liked KHII's battle system much mroe than in the original, even if the Reaction Commands were really quite stupid half the time and made stuff too easy. Only some of the acting was awkward; I loved how Billy Joel Osmond finally hit puberty along with Sora so the voice was much better, and I really liked Roxas', even if it was Jesse McCartney. And all of Organization XIII's voice work was good too. Cid's voice make me want to throw myself off a cliff, because he was so blatently hick and I don't think Cid should be THAT bad. Aeris' was also horrible, it sounded like Mena Suvari took a reaaaallly long run before recording all her stuff so she was out of breath.

I still found it an improvement over the first KH. Because lets face it, it's aallllll about the fun you have with Drive Forms.

Laitue - Really? I just remember thinking that half the fun of KHI's battle system was just to beat the crap out of things and that the second was a real disappointment. Also, there was a huge gap between difficulty levels. Everything would be really, really easy (including bosses), and suddenly something would pop up out of the blue that was incredibly hard.

Reaction commands were cute the first time, but each subsequent use made me think of dismantling my triangle button.

Some of the things Sora said really got to me. And the acting just seemed off this time. I couldn't put my finger on it, though. I just remember the Hercules bit as being particularly painful.

The only voiceacting that I really liked was Riku's. Maybe Kairi's, though I don't remember it too well. I have to say that my biggest complaint in any game is that they cast older voiceactors for younger characters. Riku is...what?...16 in the game? But his voiceactor was 21-ish. Big confusion for my brain. Oh, and I'm horribly tired of Christopher Lee being everywhere. They really should have chosen someone less known for Ansem.

Don't get me started on the FF characters... Granted, Mandy Moore was no longer making Aeris sound like some underage porn star, but it was still annoying. Not to mention the biggest question, which is what the hell is she DOING THERE?! Not acceptable.

I have no real opinion on Drive Forms. I guess I just feel there were a poor replacement for the old battle system. I also disliked the lack of flying without Drive Forms.




...Although none of that has kept me from loving the graphics. It also doesn't hurt that Utada Hikaru did the opening theme again. I almost like it better than Simple and Clean.

But really, it is fantastic. I played SH3, and they edited the game soundtrack and made it better, and used it for the film. x)

AD~ Yah, it's decent for the time being, it should grow out wonderfully.
Of course! Why didn't I think of that before? It'd match my, um...lawn. :'D
KH2's theme is cool. I like it in japanese better, though. I don't really like the english lyrics. Land is only supposed to be ONE syllabol, not four, for a reason. D:

I'm totally just leveling up the Final form so I can get Glide for Sora in normal form.

The only thing that bothered me with the opening song was how different Passion (the Japanese version) and Sanctuary (the English one) are. I mean, it happened a little with Simple and Clean/Hikari but still, it wasn't this bad. Passion and Sanctuary are two completely different songs to the same tune. It's kinda scary.

Here's a neat fact, one that made me happy. The guy who did the voice acting for Axel is the voice actor for Reno in the FF: AC dub. And I think it's a good fit. He also did the voice of Isaaru in X and X-2. He's actually done a lot. *Didn't look this up because she's obsessed with Axel. Noooo* It's not my fault. He's a redhead. I have a redhead fetish! ; ;

I haven't finished playing KH2 yet. I just got it Thursday, and I do have to sleep, work, etc. sweatdrop I'm only to the Hercules area.

The battle system is alright, it's just the whole reaction thing. When the reactions are simple, like the Reversal, it's spiffy and helpful. But when it launches this giant combo that takes out half the baddie's HP...well, where's the fun in that? I admit to a tendancy of button mashing, but that's my enjoyment.

The first part? I was yelling at it and getting frustrated. Where's the REAL gameplay? If I wanted to play the daily life of a kid, there's cheaper games for that. Yet, when the real gameplay showed up, all the worlds are so far too easy and too short. I missed the first section. xD

Voices? Ugh, I want to mute it half the time. Sora's still fine, yay Haley Joel Osment! The voices in the first half? Loved 'em, and enjoyed recognizing many background characters. I also did not know Jesse McCartney did the voice. Awesome! *hides his CD* ninja And then to Hollow Bastion.

Aerith? Well, when I first played FFVII, I couldn't stand her. I cheered when she died. Then I played the first KH, and she didn't annoy me. In fact, she was tolerable, and not all, "LOL I'm super useless but I'll pretend I'm important!" like how I felt she was in FFVII. This time, she was just a character that was semi-interesting. Then I watched Advent Children, and started reading the KH manga. By then I was okay with her. And then I played KH2 and wanted to rip out her guts all over again. Bleh. And her new outfit sucks.

Furthermore, I am prepared to fight for Axel. I don't even normally like redheads. (I'm more for white hair on young guys. Mmm...Setzer...) I shall decide such once I finish the game.

OOohzomgIsaaru voiceactor? I have to go back and listen to that again. <3 And yes, Axel was nifty. I wasn't fond of his "got it MEMorIZED?" line, but it could be forgiven due to his awesome char design and weapons.


QA - I'd almost forgotten my biggest complaint with KH2! Thanks for reminding me! Yes, the worlds were reduced to almost nothing. There was NO way to get lost (which I was always rather good at before) or any strategic value to any of the puzzles. Or rather, WHAT puzzles? Remember Hollow Bastion and its labyrinth of elevators? I miss that. And it didn't help that every. Single. Screen. Had a cutscene.

First 20 hours = crap. Period.

Never played KH2 so I can't join in on that conversation. However, I found out today I got a 2100 on the SATs, and there is Star Wars Galaxies in my immediate future. So yay me biggrin

QA: Okay. razz We shall have to fight to the death for Axel. <3 I wish I'd gotten the special edition of the guide because it comes with stickers!

AD: He also did Iruka in the Naruto dub. >< I loved Axels design. Especially his interactions with Roxas. ; ; Though I totally hold that Axel and Roxas were diddling each other. Not because I'm a yaoi/shounen fangirl, I'm not actually. The subtext is just very very obvious in some parts.

Personally in KHII I have beaten the game but am currently level whoring because you have to be at least level 80 to even TRY taking on Sephiroth.. and he give the best keyblade in the game. Soooo WANT!

Actually, now that I think about it I have one complaint about the graphics in this game. *GASP* The Pirates of the Caribbean world. It was all very nicely done and very realistic and then there's Sora, Donald and Goofy who look as cartoony as usual. The two styles just look REALLY bad together.
