Okay, for a bit I was just lurking. But I swear I have reasons for not posting for most of it! My compy got randomly virus filled and I went to take care of it and procrastinated and it crashed. D= So now I have another compy, and might slave the old harddrive. ninja

And I finally got to see a Drag Show. YAY! whee

Is anyone else following the anime Nodame Cantabile? I need someone to bounce "OMFG and did you see the..!"s off of.

Speaking of that...where the hell is Koji?

Shiro - We US-folk have no imagination, and therefore require visual aids for just about everything.

QA - Ewww... That's no good. I'm surprised you just went out and bought a new computer, though. Sounds like you filled your old one with viruses on purpose. ninja

Drag show?

axel - Not even ridiculously cheap housing can drag me to Detroit. o.O
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2007 11:23 pm
Axel - I wouldn't call it resolved, per se...

Yeah, dealing with technology means either things crash or become obsolete. Or crash because they're obsolete.

Yume - Well, I was intending to buy some pretty laptop eventually, so I was trying to hold out with the poor thing until then. But, no, my parents got a new one (with convenient timing), so I took their older one and plan to cannibalize my sicky.

I would fill things with viruses on purpose, just to have fun digging them out. No, wait, I have...

Drag Show. Men in dresses dancing and lip syncing. Typically prefer to refer to themselves with feminin pronouns. Drag Queens.

Someone needs to stop the US from remaking films. As an example, watch Kairo (original Japanese version), then watch Pulse (American version)....and weep at the horror of Americanization. Kairo, while confusing, still has a point, and a bit of logic. Pulse is all about teenagers running around and screaming, "OMFGROFLCOPTER ghostz R comeing out ov my CELL PH0NE!!1!"

Ugh.

QA - Ohhh, I see. Cannibalizing technology is always fun. I've indulged in quite a bit of tech cannibalization myself.

Yes, yes. Drag show, got it. I guess my question was: Why?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 23, 2007 10:48 pm
Yume - Extra RAM and harddrive space, how can I resist?

Why not? xd It's no different from seeing any other kind of show. Someone up there dancing, lip syncing, fun. *shrug*

Besides, if gay men always absolutely adore me, I figured Drag Queens would too. What can I say? I love attention. My gay friend was a little shocked when the Drag Queens were more focused on me than him, for once. xd And it's harmless, a kiss on the cheek, a little dance.

Not only that, I'd heard about the bar for years and years. Everyone would always mention going, then last minute decide not to. Or something would come up and I couldn't go. I knew it was a gay bar, but predominantly male, so I didn't have to worry too much about giving any girls the wrong idea about me. But all the hype was making it sound like THE place to go. Plus I've always wanted to see a Drag Show, why not?

Sunday, my friend had promised he'd take me. At first, he forgot and I got annoyed. sweatdrop A place I'd wanted to go for years, a show I'd wanted to see, etc. and he forgets. But he suddenly remembered, felt bad, and pestered until I agreed to go after all. Which is just as well, had he not, I would've taken a taxi there by myself if I had to this next Sunday. I wouldn't have had anywhere near as much fun, but I could say I went.

It was tons of fun, in the end. The girls put on good shows. There was a long intermission, well over an hour, I spent the entire time dancing with my friend. I've never danced in public before, and it was a blast. He was a dance instructor before and we were doing little competitions, and I was doing surprisingly well. xd There were even a few times we were center of the floor.

A few people did try to get one of us to dance with them instead, but we ignored them. whee

Plus I openly admit I'm a yaoi fangirl. Some guys like girl/girl, and then there's girls like me who like guy/guy. Being on a dance floor full of only men, them being jealous of who I was with and of my dancing, and then getting glares because Drag Queens are giving ME dances and kisses, as well as my friend doing the same? I was in Heaven. surprised So I'm a little weird? heart

Bah. I am completely geeking over the iRiver Clix. Here's hoping a great deal comes along and I can snatch one up. <3

That, and I'm obsessing over Iron Chef. Even though I'm one of the few people who doesn't have a TV in their dorm, I don't mind, since I still have the lovely Internet. <3

And, I stumbled across this thing awhile ago. I'm still not sure if it's stupid or hilarious. Maybe both.

@AD-- I'm glad you liked the d***o Diaries. XD I showed it to my friends, and we can't get over the "Mouth-to-a**s-with-chickens" line.

Nyome - That review was edited by the man who froze to death in Oregon a couple of months ago... I have no idea why that makes me as sad as it does.

That USB dog is freakin' sweet... It'd get on my nerves after a while, though. Just because of the noise.

axel - I think she's pressing along the edges of the screen. I don't see any separate buttons.

EDIT:

QA - I totally didn't reply to you... sweatdrop

Well, I'm certainly glad you had fun. xd I have this unending jealousy/annoyance thing with drag queens due to the fact that many of them are bleedin' gorgeous and so much more graceful than I am. xd

Well, everyone up and died at once. Frightening.

I feel obligated to say...anything.

A Week in AD's Life:
  • scolded a car salesman for using Limewire
  • argued with another car salesman over "auxiliary input" vs. "iPod ready"
  • bought a copy of Eats, Shoots & Leaves
  • made an MP3 player carrying case from scratch
  • rented a violin
  • decided that the violin is a touch more difficult than the flute
  • dyed hair much too dark and now look like a ghost by comparison
  • have decided that Death Note is one of the greatest anime series ever

Go on, kiddies. Bullet-point your week spent MIA, lest I feel lonely.

Abandoned Dreams

have decided that Death Note is one of the greatest anime series ever

YES. heart heart heart

hmm my week.
  • bought a new sketchbook.
  • watched a lot of Death Note and Ouran High School Host Club.
  • rediscovered the magic that is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
  • found out my mom passed out in the parking lot at her place of employment and hung out there for awhile. LOWE'S = MASSIVE FAIL. (she's doing ok though.)
  • put my sister on a plane to japan.

and i'm currently watching my poor outdated iPod die.
does anybody have any recommendations for a good MP3 player that has about 2-4 gigs, not ridiculously expensive, and A REPLACEABLE BATTERY? gonk
i figured here would be the best place to ask. ninja

axel - I didn't like Death Note too much in the beginning, but episode 24 was just so chock-full of awesomeness that I can deny my fangirling no longer. Evil Light is friggin' sweet. I even like Misa, heaven help me. She's one conniving little airhead.

Also, the opening theme sounds like...Japanese Slipknot.

I hope your mother's okay! Did they find out why she collapsed?

As far as MP3 players go... The fact that you want a small player opens up all sorts of floodgates. My recommendation is to do some research at Newegg.com. You can even narrow your choices by "Removable Rechargeable Battery" within the 1-4gig range. My coworker recently bought this and she really likes it. There's no software or drivers, from what I understand. Just good ol' drag and drop.

And technically, you CAN replace the battery in your iPod. It'll void the warranty, though. Check around tech sites - or even eBay - and find a match for what's in your iPod now. I don't know how much of a techie you are or if you're comfortable opening up your player; that's up to you.

And, as always, my general dislike for iPods overshadows any brand suggestions I might make. stare Creative is an excellent brand, as is SanDisk. I really do recommend you check Newegg, though.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 2007 9:39 pm
i actually hadn't thought of replacing the battery myself. ahurrr .__.;; it is cheaper than i thought it would be. thank you for mentioning that. xD
i've been impressed with Creative's stuff. i forgot how fun newegg is heart
thank you for the recommendations heart heart

mom's all right, now- she has high blood pressure on top of all kinds of other medical oddities and she didn't have a chance to take some meds that day, so her body overheated as some kind of lametastical wake up call mechanism. ;/

yus, death note is like some kind of trap. you think you know what's going on, and bam- they throw another twist at you. surprised

Poit! I mean...

  • Still been too lazy to cannibalize comps.
  • Sorry Yume, I ordered a new iPod. 8 GB (Product)Red iPod Nano
  • Spiderman toys came out and I snagged a cardboard cutout of Spiderman in his red and blues.
  • Got several of my group to try Romulan Ale.
  • My friend I refer to as "my puppy" or twin often practices for his drum core in the parking lot during lunches and/or breaks. He's got a couple swords (dull and taped up), plastic "rifles", and a flag. I went out to watch for a while, and shortly after I go in the store, the police showed. Someone had called and said he was throwing knives. xd
  • And he's trying to get me to join his practices.
  • Three times the nurse people were supposed to stop at the house and pick-up equipment that was left. And each time they forget. Which annoys me because I stay home to give them stuff when I need to shop for my trip next week! stressed

Considering buying a razor phone (or any phone that takes good photos), and switching sim cards with my old tracfone. But will it work the same way? o_o Or is it weird to carry around a digital camera?
