Silly Memai *cuddleloves back*, Your so sweet, I still can't believe you were intimidated by me. That's just crazy. whee

AD - I watched a bit of Claymore but stopped because I found the manga better. I tend to prefer manga over anime much more now, it's gotten bad because I keep reading webcomic right to left, and then wonder why it doesn't make sense. Darker than Black is on my summer anime watch list I just haven't got to it yet.

Lang - That is our liquor place (NSLC = Nova Scotia Liquor Commission), it a little on the badly stocked side. Lots of rum, beer and cheap wine. But if you're lucky the get something good but only around xmas, and then it cost to much anyway.

Akahoshi - The original is almost always better than the remake. I don't doubt that's the case with Claymore, but there's nowhere to borrow the manga and I'm sure as hell not buying it. I'll stick with pirating anime, thanks.

Oh! I remembered what bothers me about Claymore: no bones. Limbs get hacked off practically every episode, yet there are never any bones. Apparently human (and monster) limbs are filled with some kind of red gelatin. Either that, or everyone has awesome Bone Liquefying Swords. Which, by the way, I totally want.

AD - I download all of my manga because living in a small town the most that find here are crappy Clamp and TokyoPop titles. I'm not getting official stuff but I prefer scanlations anyway.

Yeah even the manga has a lack of bones, the one time I saw some actually bone was when someone remade an arm. Maybe I'll scan through the manga again and count bone shots. Although the Bone Liquefying Sword is a really good theory, and I want one too.

I just starting renaming all of the files in my manga collection, I'm planning to turn a gmail account into a make shift ftp thing.

It seems everyone's tried these Jones Soda things but me. D: It's like manufacturers went out of their way to avoid putting their products in regions where I might visit.

@AD----Nah, I don't mind that I don't drink. I just get sick of being told to look after drunk buddies, so I distance myself from those kind of people now. I figure real friends would care more about my feelings than to get me involved with something I don't like. I just occasionally get left out of alcohol-related talks, but I'll take that sacrifice. XD

Yes, MOO-ING. Lots of it! And and..blizzards! and I hear there's an AD in there somewhere. ninja

(( actually, compared to a lot of the Midwest, I think I'd rather visit Ohio. I can't imagine what I'd do in say, Minnesota. o_o )

My parents and I have driven to LA a couple of times, which is about a 13 hour straight car ride. But I'd rather go through another 20 hours of driving than pass through Arizona all those times. During one such trip, we passed through a ghost town, a sandstorm, passed by a tornado, and went through hail and a rainstorm so heavy everything was white. In ONE state! neutral Not to mention the heat is terrible ( and we live in an area that has terrible thunderstorms and heat/humidity )

Oh! and I did get into Claymore because you recommended it, and I really like it. whee It surprised me, because I normally don't like all that stuff - gore, ugly monsters, etc.

I like the manga too, just because it's way ahead of the anime and I doubt the anime could get all of that info in. If you'd like, I can show you where I read all of it online, since you're not against these types of illegal goods and whatnot. XD;

@Langwifey---- I could just imagine your avatar with a bike. If only Gaia had taken that route, instead of cars.

@Hoshi---- I guess I don't. XD But that's okay in my school at least. I'm surrounded by art colleges, so they out-freak us most of the time. Except we have a strong theater school, so I think they're in the contest for who does the craziest things..

Lang~ Yours too! Twinsies. x) I'm going for the electric-edible look.

Claymores the one with that one lady, right? o.o; I think I read it on one of my Barnes&Noble raids. Think I'll youtube it with ya'll, I don't want to fall behind on anime anymore. ): *Just now watching Tsukihime.*

Akahoshi - Ah, yes. I'd forgotten about scanlations. It's been a long time, I guess.

I swear, even the arm-reforming scene in the anime didn't involve bones. Every time I see something like that, I can hear my biologist friend screaming about it, a lot like the time she heard about "instant ebola" in Tomb Raider.

Nyome - If it makes you feel any better, I just had to Google Jones Soda.

Ahhh, I see. Yeah, the babysitting thing gets real old real fast. Eventually you'll bump into people who know how to drink and not make other feel lousy about it. It happens around your senior year in college, I think.

Blizzards, cows and AD. Yep, that's Ohio in a nutshell.

I don't care how bad you think Arizona is; Oklahoma is worse by far. Period.

Claymore is remarkably gory and sadistic -- more sadistic than any other anime I've seen to date -- but I still really like it. That makes me worry.

Ooooh, illegalz? I'm all over that.

Shiro - Well, fine! Feel free to miss out on all of our Claymore-related discussions!

If anyone here is getting a Bone-Liquefying sword, it's me! (On a side note, I can now spell "liquefying" without Firefox correcting me. Yay internet.)

Koji - Ehhhhxcellent. Claymore won't be as gossip-worthy as Higurashi, but it's not bad.

*smacks you for good measure* Get your mind outta the gutter; that's my territory.

Hoshi-kins >> Well, yeah, I was XD I always thought of you as this girl who you shouldn't mess with or shouldn't act all cutesy around xd Everytime I saw you post I was like, "Oh damn! Did I say something to make her mad ? gonk *hovers mouse over new posts button with shaking hands*"

AyDee >> If anyone's being left behind in anime, it's me XD Did you know I just now realised Bleach was mainstream? And that Naruto is well into a new season (and new outfit). And I didn't know what 'Ouran' meant until someone pointed it out.

Claymore sounds scary *rushes under couch* Actually, I've been wondering about that bone issue as well XD I keep seeing all these shows where the guy slashes off the baddies arm like... like... BUTTER D: Melty, icky butter that you put on toast Xp They should at least curse when they snag on a bone, "LYKE DAMNIT! CUT THROUGH ALREADY scream "

Koji-goron >> xd To colour the Memai way is to drink coffee at 12 midnight sharp. You'll go crazy with anything you can get your hands on. Should you survive the ordeal and wake up the next morning, you look at your new artwork and curse yourself for not being 'sober' at the time to truly appreciate it XDDDD

After reading Shiros' and Memias' first impressions about me I can't help wondering if I was a b***h.

AD - Scanlations are one of my drugs I need daily doses.

Ok after look for the picture of the arm, I made a little picture so everone can understand.
User Image
(Yes it's bad spelling but it was 2:30am and brain functions are at a minimum)

But there is my take on it. And you can have the sword just don't poke me with it.

Memai - I loved your cutesy ways, you made me giggle and still do. And your even more special because your the only friend on my list thing (profile)

I should change it and add others but I'm lazy and it's not like I care about my profile. And people should know they're my friends anyway.

Ok it's 15 minutes till 3am, so sleep time because tomorrow is Hoshi gets her drink on day. So an early Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians here. (Which I think is like 3 or 4, with myself included)

Well fine! I'll hang out with Koji on Youtube then! >:C

meh, I'm actually watching and enjoying Devil May Cry... it's drawn by Madhouse...which means same people who animated Death Note. whee

OK then, you get that. I'll go get body shattering bullets. twisted (also note, I didn't need to use firefox to help me spell 'liquefying' correctly on the first go. yay me! [/smartass] )

Hoshi :: no no no. xd never a b***h. A bit cold and calculating, but fierce and hands-on at the same time. I remember clearly telling myself one night: "Yeah... cross her just once, and she'll rip you a new one."
Then again, I've learned through the years never to "judge a book by it's cover", and I sure didn't with you. :3

and I don't have Hoshi's new account on my f-list because I remember clearly reading how you did not want any friends requests. AT ALL. so I never did because you told me. sad

You weren't a b***h, Hoshi!! xd I guess it had to do with being new to Gaia and all, I felt like I was this new kid from a completely different town and had no idea what on Earth to expect from you lot. I kinda had the impression that you were this no-nonsense kinda person, then I discovered how laid back you could be XD!

Funny thing, first impressions heart
PostPosted: Sun Jul 01, 2007 3:19 pm
Ahh... first impressions. I still remember I was intimidated by most of you guys. xd Now, this place is my Gaian home. whee

Memai> Truly impressive picture! *_* You can do wonders with your markers! I love how joyful Ean looks. X3 The lollipop is the ideal finishing touch.

These past days I've been completing my commissions and receiving new art, art-whoring is now my addiction. xd I even went to a store yesterday to buy inks and new brushes and now you are making me want a set of markers! gonk heart

AD and Hoshi> Your whole talk about bones and severed limbs has really freaked me out. neutral It adds to the shock I had after watching this "Rubber Johnny" video. Bones are overrated. xd

Tsk. GASOCians should not be intimidated by each other; the world should be intimidated by us.

Memai - You didn't know about Ouran? Holy s**t, girl. Greatest. Thing. Ever.

Exactly!! Bones require a lot of force to break, and even then, they don't slice cleanly! I've come to accept many of the physical impossibilities proposed by anime, but bonelessness really grates on my sense of reality.

Akahoshi - You are never a b***h unnecessarily. You are my bitchy inspiration. Now shut up.

TUBES! Are those supposed to be muscles? Bah! Bah on all of it! I double-checked the anime version and there's an off-whitish tube that COULD be a bone, but there's no red in sight. Anime muscles = flesh-colored tubes. I am so not going anywhere near Japanese health care if that's the general consensus, thanks.

*poke*

Shiro - Death Note wasn't badly animated, come to think of it. How's DMC's story?

I don't use "liquefying" too often, so I don't usually waste brain space with its proper spelling. However, it is now permanently stuck in there, which means I have probably forgotten someone's birthday as compensation. Damn it.

Deuxia - GASOC is my oasis in the desert of Gaia. heart

o.O YouTube isn't free; it costs IQ points.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 01, 2007 7:30 pm

Deuxi >> YOU SILLY GIRL! XD No, no... not markers XDD Colour pencils. Markers are much too expensive over here (which is odd, considering most Japanese products here cost a lot less than those in the States), the only 'makers' I use are those felt-tip ones that kids use XD

But yeah, it is a pretty awesome pic whee

AyDee >> I need to get my hands on the DVDs XD I don't fancy downloading anime because I'll probably let it sit there eating away at my HD, so yeah... DVDs. I could always sell it later ;D

Bonelessness XD; It's funny when those anime purists go on about how their favourite shows add a touch of reality to an animated series (which, I do admit, you don't see too much in your typical Saturday morning toon), yet when you point out something physically impossible, they yell back saying "BUT ITZ FANTASIIIIIEEEEE!!!!"

Gotta love them otakus, I'd run out of things to laugh at biggrin

@AD----Haha, I hope I don't have to wait that long. I do have friends at college who drink, but fully respect my boundaries and we get along just fine. It also helps to go to a college where kids aren't trapped inside a campus/boring town with nothing to do but drink. Yay for options.

Well, blizzards + cows + AD sure sound better than hurricanes + heat stroke + Nyo here. I say Ohio is worth a look. :]

We've been to Oklahoma a couple of times. Not /nearly/ as much of a death trap as Arizona is.

I think I should be worrying more. I've never considered myself really into gore at all.

Ahhh, now I have to go check out Darker than Black too. At least it'll give me something to do for now.

Read up! <3

@Shiro---- You're always working though. How does anything else get to own your soul? : <

@Hoshi---- Someone does lose a hand, but I saw no sign of bone there either. There goes that hope. : (

@Intimidation Talk---- I was scared silly of GASOCians at first. True story! : D
