This Is NOT A Thriller Night!!12 | 13 | 14 | 15 Party Leader: Milady Emerald Registration: xXxXxTry #: 1 Your Team: Druid: Magical | Warlock: Magical | Ranger: Ethereal | Monk: Physical Your Base Rolls: 2, 2, 11, 2 Bonuses: ((Taking DM inspiration try 3)) Final Rolls: 2, 2, 11, 2 Knocked out: None Em lead her team to the mat, smiling at each of her mercs as they filed past. They had done so very well last time, she was quite pleased. She'd actually started keeping a separate pouch of coin to tip them with! She was relaxed waiting to find out what her team challenged this week. Seeing it was the Undead, Em relaxed more. Her mercs could handle it. First was the Druid against a simple Skeleton. Clearly feeling confident, they stepped up boldly. The skeleton threw a punch and appeared to be aiming for the opposite side of the druids head. Shifting slightly to dodge, the punch landed square on their cheek, and down they went. Em's eyes went wide but she recovered quickly. Bad luck, could happen to anyone. Next was her Warlock- who was indeed hit an miss. But it was against the undead, so should be easy. It was not. The Warlock tried using his staff to knock a leg out from under the Dino skelle.....and instead tripped himself and got stepped on by the massive skeleton. Emerald swallowed, hard. The Ranger had paid attention to his party members, and approached the Greater Zombie with caution. They fought, and the Ranger held his own, for a few minutes. They just couldn't best the zombie, and down they went. Covering her face with her hands Em took a very deep breath, counting to ten before watching the Monk take his turn. She wished she hadn't watched. Of course she had to watch, but even so. The Monk stood frozen in place, the Banshee wailed, and in a grotesque echo of Em covering her face the Monk covered his ears before he was knocked out. The look on Em's face made one think there had been a ghost roaming.....perhaps it was a personal ghost. Em had been cocky again. And again it cost her.

To keep them from seeing she sat and clasped them demurely in her lap. Giving them all a smile that was watery at best. Her druid squared off against the Skeleton, who drew back to strike. The druid flinched, but the wrong way- right into the path of the hit.....Luckily they'd closed their eyes and didn't see it coming. Small mercy, but Em hoped it helped. Seeing their team mate go down like a sack of potatoes the Warlock's jaw dropped and made a perfect "o" of surprise. Stunned it took a moment before they stepped up to the mat. This time, they didn't try anything fancy. The bout started, and they grasped their staff as thought it was a bat, dropped low and ran at the Dinosaur skeleton. Bone cracked as a leg gave, and the mat shook as it fell. One down. Facing the Greater Zombie again the Ranger had some idea of its moves. Thankfully zombies, even greater ones, aren't known for their thinking skills. The Ranger was able to take it down, thought it took some time...and a few body parts. The Monk was pale as their turn came. The moment the gong sounded they leapt forward and a blade like hand slashed at the throat of the Banshee, cutting off it's ability to wail. Em hadn't even seen the Monk move for the follow up strike that knocked the creature senseless.

Feeling torn, Em kinda wished she had fewer morals. It would be nice to be one of "those people" who sent Mercs to fight on their behalf and didn't care that mercs were people too. Knowing her eyes were too wide, staring, and not blinking enough she felt as though she was trying to breathe past her stomach which was clogging her throat. All on their own the Druid stepped up. The gong rang, the Skeleton pulled back to strike- and the body of the merc ran like water as they shifted shape, into a massive wolf. Almost before the transformation was complete the wolf lept for the skeleton and tackled it to the ground. Using their powerful jaws they broke the neck in two. Then proceeded to take the forearm of the now downed skeleton, wrench it free, and laid down beside the creature to gnaw on its trophy. Em stared....it really was like watching a train wreck, she couldn't look away. The sound signaling the bouts end sounded....and she was out of her chair running flat out for the bathroom.
