Lang - There was a recipe for macaroni salad on Something Awful...? That's sort of reaching.

I love the chubby, alien-like Twilight hands! They suit the prose better!

Shiro - Heyyo, how've you been? Good to hear the powers that be deigned to grant you another vacation.

My 4th of July involved overeating and being bitten by mosquitoes. And hoping that the hillbillies next door didn't shoot a bottle rocket through my bedroom widow. Yay!

So, I think I'll never EVER take painkillers again. I dun care what no doctor says. It got to the point where yellow shirts upset me. D: Now I can finally play PS2 and watch Royal Pains over and over again. :'> And participate on Gaia, of course.

My 4th of July, I got brave and crutched (Can this be a verb? Please?) across a field because I just had to see the fireworks. And after all that effort, a hill in the distance blocked about 40% of the actual show. Luckily the ones I did see were shaped like pokeballs, so I didn't complain. Then I went home and someone threw a poppywhatever at me while I was resting in the back of the truck. To save myself from burning I barrel rolled off a 4 ft drop and landed on my week-old operated knee. But the hell if I didn't enjoy it. C:

AD :: been good I guess. Powers that be did allow such a miracle to occur after all (plus me not dying in the process, which is another miracle, considering they apparently also put a spell on me too) so it feels good to be on vacation at this moment.

My 4th involved overeating, lots of beer, and lots of neighbors' partygoers, therefore lots of music and noise. Sadly, there was no fireworks. Shame too. 8(

Still, my BBQ steaks were impressive; anyone who are from it kept complimenting how they tasted just -right- ... which worried me because I even got compliments from the neighbors, which I gave them none.
gonk

Koji - Yellow shirts...?

"Crutched" may be a verb. I hereby give you permission. And kudos on your death-defying leap.

Shiro - Fireworks are overrated. In my mind, they serve only to remove appendages from idiots and scare my friend's dog under the bed.

You gave your neighbors no compliments, or no steaks? Because the latter would be strange.

Shiro - My country celebrated July 1st. Does that count? I sort of just sat there.
Congrats on moar vacation though. :O Good to see you again.

AD - Yeah... it was linked to me. It was like... taking pasta, carrots and a pound of butter, then making 'cereal' with it. No thanks.

I will agree to that about Twilight hands. I saw a girl wearing an "I <3 boys that sparkle" t-shirt. Ugh.

Koji - Yellow shirts what? D: Good to hear you survived such an exciting night.

AD :: I'd agree with you completely were it not for the dazzling myriad of colors fireworks can have depending on what concoction of powders you use.

and it was the latter. it turns out one or two of the steaks were not devoured by me, and my mom actually went and gave the neighbors some.

I blame the booze in my system at that time for not noticing such a travesty happening (i.e. having steaks being given to someone else)

Lang :: Yes it does. jenna's birthday was on the 2nd :'D so that's freakin' awesome :'D

yes. moar vacation timez!!! FFFFFFFFFF YEAH! and It's good to see you too. :'D

(I might have to contact you thru msn soon though) >__>

and now, to sleep I go :'D

I need to stop logging in, hitting reply, and staring at a blank screen before closing the tab. It's not particularly productive or healthy.

Er.

I have a new job. It's interesting but I'm still working out the kinks. That is all.

My friend's trying to drag me to see Harry Potter. On opening night. At midnight. I, not being a fan of Harry Potter (although I WILL grant that the movies, bypassing a good deal of Harry's Inner Monologue, are guaranteed to be better than the books), utterly refuse. The only HP movie I've seen in theaters was the one with Gary Oldman being a hobo.

This is the Cowon S9. I own one. AMOLED screens are fantastic. I highly recommend it for geeks and highly advise against it for normal types.

I'm still trying to beat Persona3, jenna. STILL. I'm 75 hours into it (some of those may have been spent sleeping while the PS2 whirred away nearby) and have just now reached the boss. And then I lost a 2-hour-long boss battle right at the end. You know what sucks? Having a party of four people, and if YOUR nameless moron gets knocked out, it's game over. What IS that? There are plenty of revival beads to go around, people.

In unrelated news, I nearly had a coronary at my desk today when some CNN.com writer used hyphens incorrectly. "When he was only two-years-old..." What? WHAT? Children are going without punctuation in impoverished countries, you b*****d interns.

Lang~ I was so nauseous anything from flailing limbs, bright colors, or even bad postures would make me wanna hurl. I tried watching reality TV shows and I thought I was going to die. D:
But yes, survival none the less. :] Glad to see you're still living as well. :9

AD~ Did your friend accomplish the dragging? :0
That is one swanky mp3 player. o_o Does it behave? It looks like it'd come with scary interface issues.

Persona 3 was pretty amazing. :u I didn't play much, but I did catch the story and the whole 2 hours of endgame boss fight. (And the 2 hours of after boss running around. @n@) It was all pretty ridiculous. Do you plan on doing the Answer, too?

In Which AyDee Does Not Shut Up

Koji – No, she did not. She found another poor soul to drag along. In spite of myself, I called her the next day to see how it was, and she said, to quote, “Awesome.” She still plans on dragging me, this time to hear my opinion. (I told her I could give her my opinion without seeing the movie, but apparently that doesn’t count.)

Does the MP3 player behave… Well, yes…and no. Being a Cowon, it’s prone to completely unnatural UI. I treat it like a big puzzle, but few people are willing to put up with that sort of nonsense from their gadgets. The S9 doesn’t crash or anything, though. The sound and video are top-notch, and the battery life is a reputed 55 hours for music and 11 for video. I can’t vouch for either yet, since I use a mix of both. But what makes the S9 so great is its hands-in-the-air resignation to users’ whims. The UI is totally customizable – meaning if you can code it, you can install it. Cowon is also really good about responding to consumer demands and releasing new firmware versions frequently. File transfer is still drag and drop, but you can now browse music by folders or ID3 tag. (It no longer has the “play this folder” option that I so loved on the X5, but I’m getting over it.)

One of the S9’s features that comes outta left field is its song speed function. For whatever reason, you can listen to songs a 50-150% of their regular speed. I don’t get it, but I did enjoy hearing Andrea Bocelli sing like a Chipmunk. There’s also a pitch correction option, which brings voices back to human range but maintains the speed. Again, I don’t quite understand the purpose, unless you’ve always had a burning desire to make a workout routine to Debussy.

I beat Persona 3 last night and, really, I was disappointed (and a little horrified). ~*Friends*~ are the answer! We can fight back mankind’s doom if we ~*believe*~ in each other! And on, and on. The stomach turns. The gameplay was fun, but as a story, it epically failed.

Re: The Answer – I started this last night, just to see what could possibly happen after the end of The Journey, and (spoilers hereafter) I’m DEAD? That ending scene from The Journey…was me passing the ******** out and then later GIVING UP ON LIFE? I didn’t accumulate 80 hours of gameplay just to die in an android’s lap. No. I REFUSE. And why is everyone back at level 30-ish? It’s taking all of my willpower not to hand the damn thing back to GameStop.

AD :: I happen to do that. more times than I care to admit. 8(

Hope the new Job comes with some free time without idiots around... even though they tend to follow you like the plague. 8(

as for the Cowon... this is my face.

IT IS A FACE OF JEALOUSY AND RAGE.

...............................

ALSO I AM AT OTAKON ATM IN THE BALTIMORE AREA.

GUESS WHO FROM GASOC DID I MEET THERE? :'D

PostPosted: Sat Jul 18, 2009 12:26 pm
AD~ Lol, well I think GASOC is the perfect place for your opinion. Please, share. I don't bother asking anyone who went, since most of the people I know saw it while in heat. :u

The Cowon sounds pretty amazing. :0 I don't think I'd complain, especially with a battery life that long. :9 Anything that lets me drag and drop and isn't Apple I can get along with.
Have you made a workout routine to Debussy? xD

Gosh AD, didn't you know? Friends are ALWAYS the answer, unless there are less than 4 characters. Then LOVE is the answer. :'D
Well, the Answer does give a bit of closure, but I don't think the ending will make you any happier... or the fact that you stay stuck in the same area for a good chunk of the game. But you do get to kick the crap out of your friends. That's worth it, right? D: Just letting you know, the boss is equally as bitchy. If not more, since you fight it at a lower level.

Shiro~ Holy geez, you met someone from GASOC and the world didn't stop turning?? :U I wanna know who~
Btw, bared gums scare me. ;_;

Shiro - The new job has fewer idiots than usual, although I have no doubt they’ll find me eventually. I’m sure my Idiot Beacon is running strong as usual.

My Cowon S9 says hi.

Who’d you meet? Did you fanboy them to death?

Koji - Most of my opinions are really searing remarks about Radcliffe’s inability to a) act or b) fit into his shirts.

Harry Potter Heat is the most dangerous kind, with the possible exception of Twilight Heat. Enngh.

No workout routines to Debussy yet. I’m considering it.

f(x) = heart , 0 < x < 4

I think if Persona3 had started with The Answer, I’d have liked it better. I mean, dude, there was a time abyss under the table in the lobby the entire time! Come on!
PostPosted: Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:59 pm
AD~ Ewww. I concur. After the 3rd movie he started looking like some kind of cave-dwelling mini hulk. Maybe they thought putting him in tiny clothes would inhibit his growth? D:

Oh boy Twilight Heat. But I think HP Heat is the more volatile. Twilight's only purpose was to pump people full of "it hurts so gewd" emotional torment. HP on the other hand, was supposed to be about kids learning magic. The arousal is all self-induced and comes from darker places. :u

Can I borrow that equation? I think it'll come in handy in my life someday. xD

I agree with ya there. Who cares about an interdimentional high school when your coffee table is hiding the real ultimate evil! Didja beat it yet? I have no idea how long the Answer takes. Btw, which persona was your favorite? :0

So I think the Wii finally has a game worth pawing after. I found Fragile floating around and I think it looks AMAZING. Like some beautiful mix of Persona art style, Fatal Frame creepiness, and Kingdom Heart's adorable storyline.

Koji - Exactly! The one movie I did see in the theater was Prisoner of Azkaban, and I just remember Radcliffe coming down the stairs and practically muscling his way out of his shirt. "Hi, Aunt Petunia HURRRR what's for dinner RWAAARRR have you seen my owl NGGGHHHH!"

The equation is free for the taking.

The Answer is a lot harder than the Journey. Harder to level up, harder to earn money, etc. This may take a while. My favorite Persona was King Frost. He's like the King of Town from Strong Bad.

Fragile looks...somber. Is it a Wander Around and Befriend the Sad Japanese Girl game?
