It's going fairly well now. :3 I don't have cabin fever as bad and I'm on just one crutch instead of two. I'm a lot sturdier, but now when I'm in public people think I'm some jerk who's faking it. :u Then I become some jerk wielding a blunt weapon.


Has anyone gone to see Ponyo in theaters? I went yesterday and it was a joy. And I don't even like sea creatures. xD Any thoughts?

I'm resolved to see Ponyo, even if it means going alone. Like a creepy person who goes to see children's movies without any children in tow. All creepy-like. Damn you, Miyazaki. How's the dubbing?

Exactly! D: And that same day I kept running into this adorably nerdy asian girl with TWO crutches PLUS a knee brace. So I only looked worse.

Not-children people aren't supposed to go see children's movies without a child? o_o I've been some kind of societal monster this whole time. Thank goodness I skipped out on the Hannah Montana premiere, I might've gotten put in the stocks. xD
The dubbing was an interesting one this time. I started laughing to myself after the movie was over. So Ponyo and the little boy are voiced by Miley Cyrus' little sister and the Jonas brother's youngest brother, respectively. I thought they did a pretty good job, them actually being children and all. Noah Cyrus was a very convincing goldfish. :0
BUT I was shocked that Tina Fey and Matt Damon (Raaandom. >> ) did the crappiest jobs EVER. xD It sounded like Tina Fey was shucking out the lines and trying to feed the teenyboppers at the same time. D:

OK, even I would have felt a little uncomfortable if I saw you -- or anyone not 8 years old and female -- at Hannah Montana. Not that I know why I'd be there at the same time.

Tina Fey and Matt Damon? That IS strange. I want to see the movie now, but I'm wondering if it'd be worth waiting for the subtitled DVD. (Little known fact: Howl's Moving Castle is just as good in French as it is in Japanese. It's only worth watching in English for hearing Christian Bale moan, "It's not worth living if I can't be beautiful"...which is actually pretty hilarious.)

Unfortunately I live in suburban California, and I was the only one NOT at Hannah Montana. D: My own sister still doesn't forgive me for my social atrocity.

I'd see it on the big screen just because really, how often do you get to see a Miyazaki movie in theaters? I'll just watch it again in Japanese later. :9 Lol, is it really?? I think I have to watch this. xD I wonder if it's in Spanish, too. Haha, that's probably the only line I ever remember from that movie. I was partial to red-headed Howl.

Oh man. My old PS2 (circa 2001~) has been sounding like a space heater for the past few years, so I finally marched into a Gamestop and bought a slim PS2.

It. Is. So. Cute. I mean it's ridiculously cute. Like, slightly larger than a DVD case cute.

And QUIET.

Best $100 ever.

I know Howl's Moving Castle wasn't the slickest thing, plot-wise, but I'll be damned if I didn't love it anyway.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and double-post, here.

Koji - I saw Ponyo. The voice acting wasn't as bad as I'd feared, but the movie was a pretty large step below the rest of Miyazaki's work. Then again, it was geared toward a much younger audience. Actually, there was very little squirming/complaining/bathroom trips in the theater full of kids, which was a welcome surprise.

Also, did you notice that a lot of the background art seemed to be done in colored pencil? Kids must have loved that; it almost looked like crayon.


EDIT: WHAT THE ********. I clicked preview for this post and a Gaia announcement for Tampax popped up. TAMPAX. WHAT.

I got one of the skinny PS2s a while back, and I don't regret it at all. :3 It's just big enough to fit in boy pant's pockets! (When I choose to wear those, lol.)

I agree, it wasn't the deepest most moving story, but adorable just the same. I loooved the coloring for the backgrounds too! That and squishy sealife in every direction, what wasn't to love?

Did you participate and get the Tampax DRESS too?? It's all the rage. xD The questions on that survey were just terrible, though.
