Jakob didn't know how to feel anymore. He was upset from their fighting but also comforted by Kieran's sweet words. He wanted to believe that he was telling the truth and really did want to be with him. However by the tone of his words and his actions, he just didn't know. Sitting at the table, he continued to nibble on his food before sending back his reply. Pushing away his tray, he then laid down his head. He didn't know what else he could say at this point. He was tired of texting, it wasn't working.
As he sat there, he felt a mix of emotions stirring inside him. Part of him wanted to cry, another wanted a hug, and another just wanted to sleep the rest of the day away. Turning his head, he stared out the window and listened to the music playing overhead. Another few minutes passed before he received a text message from Kieran. Sitting up, he turned over his phone to read the message. His cheeks warmed as he read his sweet, but also demanding message. Sighing, he pulled the device towards him. "Fine, I'm asking...Will you come get me?" he sent back.
Jakob didn't know what Kieran had been doing in all this time but he hoped he was of enough sound mind to drive. He too wanted to see him. If Kieran didn't want to go back home, they could meet somewhere, anywhere. So long as it was face to face, that was all that mattered to him. He really couldn't stand any more of the waiting around. He wanted them to be able to just hash this out and move on.

Jakob didn't mind giving in to the others demand. However it was easier to ask Kieran if he'd come to get him. After all, between the two of them he was the only one with a car. After sending the the text, he brought his tray back towards himself. Even though he wasn't entirely hungry after their conversation, he didn't feel like wasting his food either. He picked at his remaining fries, dipping them in the ketchup as he waited. It wasn't long before his phone buzzed again. Jakob's eyes widened at the man's reply. Here? He was coming here? Oh s**t, he thought.
Looking around the lobby, Jakob saw nothing to indicate an address. It was just a bunch of trendy lighting and faux Ikea-style furniture. Closing out the messages, he instead pulled up Google Maps and allowed the locator to find him. Before sending, he looked out the window to make sure the street view matched. He didn't want to send Kieran somewhere he wasn't. When he was sure, he took a screen shot of his location and sent it to the man. He hoped it was enough information for Kieran to find him. Even more, he hoped that he would be here soon.

Sending off the text, Jakob had nothing but time to himself. He watched as the notification indication that Kieran had read his text appeared, but he was not given a reply. Jakob waited and waited only to be given nothing. He pouted slightly and continued to eat what was left. Still, he was hungry. Dumping his trash and returning the tray, Jakob then went back to the counter to order again. This he only ordered a large fry. He figured it would be enough to keep him occupied.
After paying for the fries, he waited by the counter. A few minutes passed before he was handed another tray with the fries. Taking his morsels, he went back to his corner. Jakob nibbled on the crispy treats, but he was starting to get bored. What happened to Kieran? He thought about texting him, but didn't want to come off as needy. Sitting back in his chair, he crossed his legs and stared out the window. It was times like this he really wish he knew how to drive. Back in Brazil and Germany, he never bothered. The towns he lived in were pretty popular and had a lot of cheap options for getting around. America was not so cheap. The buses were okay, same for the train. Though he quickly learned that only a few cities had actual subways. And the cabs were highway robbery. He often thought about getting a bike or scooter. But who would take him seriously if he showed up to all his jobs riding that?
As Jakob continued to daydream, time had passed and still there was no word from Kieran. He was about ready to accept his silence as a resounding no. Hearing the entry door, Jakob looked over to see how had come in. To his surprise it was none other than the person he'd been waiting to hear from. His heart started beating rapidly as he suddenly felt nervous. Standing from his seat, he gave a small wave as Kieran came closer. Swallowing, he waited until the man was right in front of him before speaking. "Hey." he said softly, looking up the male.

How badly he wished Kieran would reach out to him. But he could see his hesitance, just like his own. As the man questioned him, he soon answered. Jakob didn't want to come off as desperate or needy. Even though that was exactly what he was at this moment. As Kieran spoke again, Jakob nodded and watched his retreating back. Once he was far enough, he practically collapsed back into his chair. Pocketing his phone, he then crossed his legs and waited while Kieran ordered. The minutes passing felt like hours. But he tried not to let his impatience show. In an attempt to calm himself, Jakob picked up one of his half forgotten french fries. He stared down at the red box, lost in his own head. A couple of minutes later Kieran returned to him. Looking up at him, he brushed one of his curls back as he waited for him to sit down. "So before we start....uh, I just wanna say thanks for meeting me here...I know it's kind of out of the way." he started awkwardly. It wasn't his best opener, but he was trying. "Where did you go this afternoon?" he asked.
