Onyx came across Topax on the ground, sobbing into Vermelho's mane.

"Topaz, what...?"

But she looked up and backed away, and Vermelho leapt in front of her.

He wouldn't speak, but his meaning was clear enough.

Stay away from her.

Topaz stood and walked back towards the elf.

"No, Vermelho. He's not worth it."

Vermelho gave one last glare to Onyx and sat next to the girl.

"Go away, Onyx. We don't want you here." She trembled.  

[theotherdartagnan]

"Topaz, darling, surely you need help. Let me..."

Vermelho raged beside Topaz, but didn't leave his spot. She looked at him, and he flew off.

"Topaz..."

"You heard me. Go away. I don't love you anymore." Topaz trembled even further, but did not unroot.

"You can't hurt me anymore, Onyx. It's through."

Walking through the woods, Emma (who goes by her middle name, Vi, amoung friends) couldn't help but noticing something about the trees around her, as if something was there, but couldnt be seen. Every time she noticed this, Vi wasn't able to focus on what may have been there for a voice would appear in her head each time she tried to look closer at these strange trees. -=I spy...=- the voice fades then fluxuates back -=ready or not...=- the voice grows distant and then comes back -=find me=-...Distracted by this voice, Vi never gets a chance to find what's beyond the trees.

"Topaz, what do you mean it's through? How did I hurt you? What are you talking about?" Onyx took a step closer to her, only for her to tremble still further.

Topaz did not move as he advanced. SHe would fight him if she had to, to get her meaning clear.

"You would make love and still not tell me what has happened. I watched you die. And you expect me to accept that, to pretend like nothing happened? You died. For all I know you could be a ghost.

"And what happened to those eyes that I could stare into for hours?"
Topaz seemed breathless now.  

[theotherdartagnan]

"Topaz, what are you talking about? I told you what hapened. Mitril revived me. and my eyes? You think I wanted to look like Demon spawn? Red eyes, black hair. No, I would have died a thousand deaths to keep my hair and eyes."  

[rubidrake2]

"But would you have died for me? I couldn't care how you look! How could you say that? Your eyes are cold now. I can't stand them. You used to look at me with such longing, such mystery. But now they are hateful, cold, and well... dark. You have now become what you truly are. Are you happy now? You're a dark elf, like you wanted."

Topaz turned and began to walk off.

"Don't you walk away from me! I would have died for you. I did die for you. Now you need to stop being so selfish, little miss. You cared how I looked, I know you did! And how could you say I wanted to look like a dark elf. They are my people, but I am not one of them, you know that. I said, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME!" Onyx began to get frustrated when she did not turn around.

"I am not yours to command." She said calmly.

"I have no need to prove myself to you, and no need to argue this matter. I have expressed my feelings and you have expressed yours. You have refused to leave, not verbally, but emotionally, and if you shall not leave, I will." Topaz kept walking, expecting, almost hoping, for something to happen.

Onyx hesitated, then silently ran forward. He leaped in front of her, weilding both rapiers. He slashed repeated at her, but never managed to touch her.

"You forget that I am a better fighter than you." She had parried each blow with her dhist bow. There was not a scratch left on it from the rapiers, whose sharp gleam had been reduded to a dull shine after smashing repeatedly on the same metal. Topaz withdrew an arrow as Onyx backed away, unseeingly.

"This arrow was not meant for you."

"What?! That's a full dhist arrow. Topaz, where did you get that? No one gets one of those unless they've been... exiled." Onyx swallowed. So this was the deep dark secrect that she could never tell. She had not left people willingly.

"Topaz...I..." He didn't know what to say.

"No! Don't come any closer." Topaz was near hysterics, and if hestayed put, Onyx would not get hurt. "This arrow was not meant for you, but if I must, I will."
