Karin of the Earth

Karin had her eyes closed, intently focusing on something. She was holding a small ball of iron in her hands, trying to keep it semi-warm and keep herself warm with it. She seemed to be in a deep trance, but she was also alert.

She looked up when she heard somebody speak. She blinked, one ear up in curiosity while the other was down. Her tail flicked around as well. "Hello." She said in a very questioning, very soft voice. She pointed to the seat on the other side of the table, still holding onto her sphere. "Would you like a seat?" She asked him.

Marvic sighed a little when she asked if he wanted a seat. "If you don't mind." He grabbed a chain. Looking at the girl, he smiled slightly. "I'm sorry to bother you, but there is something...........That I have to, uh, ask. What is your name? Oh, how rude of me, my name is Marvic. I am a form-changing dragon." He flashed a smile, showing pointed teeth. "I can see you are a Neko, I like neko's they tend to be very nice." He didn't know why he was babbling, but he was. Look, you idiot, if you don't shut up, you won't find out why you had the impulse to even talk to her! He gave another smile, and stayed silent, waiting for her to respond.

But what about trying to find something that you never had?

Karin opened her hands. The ball of iron she had was warm. And not warm as in metal that's been handled for a while and it the same warmth as your skin; no, this was a dull red that could potentially burn people. "My name is Karin." She said, pronouncing it Ka-reen. Of course, part of that had to do with her accent. She smiled. "Most nekos are nice. Most of us have major problems too, because we're usually so nice that we tend to be taken advantage of. My friend Nolan, she's so messed up from what's happened to her that she cross dresses, and if you looked at her you wouldn't be able to tell she's a chick." The ball of metal warmed up to a slight orangey-red and she enjoyed it. She smiled a little bit, a genuine happy smile, like a little kid who got their dream gift on Christmas.

Marvic smiled as Karin told him her name. Then she went on explain that nekos were mostly nice. When she explained her friend, he frowned. "Who would do that to such a nice girl? It's just not right." He shook his head. When she opened her hands, he saw that she was holding a red metal ball. "Doesn't that burn?!" He grabbed it without thinking. He flinched, expecting it to burn. But it's a glowing red ball of metal! It's supposed to burn! He looked up at the girl, looked her strait in the eyes. A sound, similar to that of one losing all the air in their lungs, escaped his lips. He didn't know what was going on, but he felt a connection between himself and this girl.

But what about trying to find something that you never had?

Karin glared at him for grabbing it, the ball flashing to a blue-white color before cooling back down to orange. "It doesn't burn." She saw him flinch. "Is metal that hot supposed to burn?" She asked, genuinely curious. She didn't know that it would burn other people because other people never tried to grab metal that hot.

She sighed. "We've all had our tragedies." She felt like she would open up to this guy. About anything. It was a weird feeling, but a nice one. "I was buried alive once." She said so matter of factly, as if it didn't bother her at all.

"Many people took advantage of Nolan. It started when her real family either died or went missing, and she had to go live with her aunt and uncle. Bad things happened there, Very bad things." She had a child-like quality to herself, but not a bad one, it was more like purity or innocence.

Marvic blinked, allowing him to breath again. What is going on here?! When she glared at him, he grew a little sad. When she asked if metal that hot is supposed to burn, he tilted his head a little. "Well, um, yeah. Usually, it is. But when I grabbed it, it didn't burn, not at all....." He shook his head, and sighed. This day gets all the more weirder........ When she stated that she was buried alive, he growled a little. "I would like to see them try it now." He mumbled under his breath. When she went on to explain her friend's past, he let out another growl. "Whoever would do those things to girls as nice as you and your friend are monsters. Only a monster would do something like that." He shook his head again. What is going on here? Marvic was highly confused at why he was so protective of Karin. Looking around, he decided to get something to drink. "Excuse me a moment, Karin." He got up and walked over to Mama. "Hey Mama, could I get a bottle of white wine please?" The white wine was his favorite.

Karin sighed. "A lot of people are monsters. Without the lightbearers, the ignorant and monsters live on, not knowing purity." She looked down, "Nokaru and Meiyamei, the two most famous nekos where I come from, they probably had the roughest life out of all of us." She didn't want to get into that story. It was central to their ancestry, but the whole story is just as messed up as some of the stuff Karin read in the bible.

Karin picked up the ball. "But if it burns people, then shouldn't it have burned you? I mean, it is pretty warm. I can feel the warmth coming off of it. Or are dragons used to heat?"

Anubis Altair

Anubis looked at Mama with a gaze of confusion "An elementalist?" he repeated slowly, the title seemed to fit and he smiled slightly, sitting down he put a hand on Ekibe's shoulder and smiled to her "Its alright if she wanted to harm me she could have done so lots of times before." he said in a quiet soothing voice.

Looking up at the man who had just entered his eyes narrowed ever so slightly, the man smelt strongly of damp, dirt and something he didn't quite trust. His gaze slid to Mama then back to the man the instinct to protect her flashing strongly in his mind, breathing deep he felt the strange energy from his mind flow through his body like the movement of blood "It feels strange, like everything is slower. I feel like I could move much quicker." he muttered in a rapt voice moving one hand in front of his face at a normal speed but in his eyes it felt like he wasn't moving it at all.

Marvic just stared at the Anubis as it glared at him. What? I only asked for a drink! With a glare as equally hostile, he bared his teethe. "Got a problem with me, Anubis?" He didn't want to be rude, but on of the few things he hated was when people made judgments on people they didn't know. I can't fight......Karin might get hurt. With that thought, he stopped baring his teeth, but kept on glaring. Looking behind him, he noticed another man was there. Maybe he meant him? Most likely, it's not like I would make him glare at me.... With that, he stopped glaring. When the Anubis said something about something feeling weird. Curiosity started to creep into him, but he pushed it down. No need to anger him. Looking at Mama, he smiled. "I'll be over at the table with the Neko in the corner."' He then turned around and walked back.

Upon hearing what Karin said, he smiled. "Well, I guess you are true on that part. Monsters will always exist.' With a sigh, he put his dead on his hand. When she asked about dragons and heat, he smiled. "Well, the funny thing is, I can be burned just as easily as everyone else in this form. But when in my dragon form, I barely notice it." He smiled at her. He liked her, she wasn't afraid to ask questions.

Mama

Mama gave Riyu a look of assurance, the knowing smile that spoke of how she had seen something. Her attention turned back to Anubis and Ekibe, but the two appeared to be moving at an unnatural pace.

Ekibe stoon and moved over to Anubis' side. "Look at the woman and man... they are moving slowly but we are not." She paused a moment and then looked hard at Anubis. "Calm down, you are frightened or angry. I think it reacts to your emotions. If you get too worked up we may be pulled into another time. Take deep breaths. We are safe here." She took Anubis' hand and smiled softly, hopefully reassuring him.

Karin of the Earth

Karin stared at the ball of metal she was playing with. She pulled another ball, this time copper, out of her pocket. Without looking at it or touching it, she twisted the ball into three flat strands and then braided it together into a bracelet around Marvic's wrist.

"A token." She said. She didn't know of what, she just knew she should have made it for him. Of course, that only scratched at the surface of what she could do. She then looked down at the table. "Marvic, what compelled you to come talk to me?" She asked him.

Alice Miyako

The rising world of waters dark and deep.

Alice had been walking for a while, her feet started to hurt but... this was her favorite cafe in town and she loved the cheesecake there. So, she had to go no matter how bad her feet hurt. Alice walked in and the bells on the door rang a little. The place was crowded today. Alice sat at her regular table and waited for someone to come and of course, take her order. She saw many different people, and her stomach rumble, these people were like her, in some weird way... She just didn't know how..

Anubis Altair

Anubis felt Ekibe's hand on him and began breathing deeply, the connection between him and the element had been bridged. However he had built up a backlog of energy that had to be released, looking to Ekibe he smiled "Stay very still we will be ok, I just need to funnel off the energy." he whispered very carefully raising a hand to point at the half sliced loaf of bread, closing his eyes as he concentrated on it his mind became full of numbers and symbols. Clearing them to the side he chose three images to help him with the replacement, a map, a stopwatch and a calendar. Reading the amount of energy that had been stored he decided to send it back in time to Ireland during the potato famine at least then it would do some good.

On the outside his hand turned from a pointing finger to a fist and the bread flickered and vanished into a minuscule red vortex, opening his eyes again Anubis let out a deep breath as everything started moving at a regular speed "Sorry about that, still all new to me." he mumbled going a little red from embarrassment.
