Hey don't let it get to you, it's a good list but you should add a miscellaneous part too with stuff like crossbows and explosives. Also how about one on vehicles.

i know we are trying to be realistic here and i have also read the zombie survival guide so i know all that weight and stuff but a katana is a good (if made right) melee weapon that in weight terms isnt too bad plus using a bow i believe (also only if youve been training with it for quite awhile) is one of the best weapons because not only is it pretty much silent if you know how to make arrows you will always have ammo if there are trees (and if there aren't trees well you'd be dead anyway) you can also recover your ammo as long as you didnt break the arrow. i agree chainsaws although useful would you want to carry that bulky 5-10 pound item and gasoline another odd amount of pounds to run it? so i guess in some ways i agree with you in most but the katana and bow

the problem with a sword of any kind is that you have to get near them and would be overwhelmed or bit while swinging. The bow part is simple it is a good weapon on one or two zombies from a distant but is honesty if you get attacked by a group you effectively get killed in between loading a arrow and the bow is more focus and aiming then a gun because you have to adjust your sight pull back and fire also counting in wind. while a gun you really only have to account for the kick and slightly wind if it is too strong that it will knock it off course.

Depends on how good you are with a bow i can average about seven arrows every 30 seconds but i have frineds in the S.C.A (Society for Creative Anachronisms pre renaissance group) who can get off 9 or 10 with good accuracy from 20-40 yards. and Besides thats the point of the sword is close combat its not like someone(in their right mind given) is gonna chase after a zombie trying to hack it into bits. Katanas are strictly for Melee combat when they are already in range or when you are out of ammo cuz lets face it blades dont need to be reloaded

yes but think about if you have a bow you don't have much room for guns and it takes time then just rapidly shooting a sub automatic which means if you get trapped both the bow and katana will lower your survival rate because the sword is made for a few opponents while the bow takes time to switch targets.

If u get your self an AS50 u don't have to worry about melee u shoot em up 1000 feet away and finish em off with a GAU-3 biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

I only did the Land based vehicles for the reason of, the lack of realistic Air vehicles. Only Air vehicles I can think of are Helicopter, planes, and jets. All being unrealistic in owing, unless of course your rich and live in a rural area in which allows you to have one, along with having a pilots license. And the lack of water viechles. It includes boat. That's about it. If you own a yacht, your basically set. Seeing as if you in deep enough water, zombies cannot reach you. So any boat is unfair to the Rp and most likely unrealistic.

could have been more descriptive like the different models and not true about the boats being unfair fighting zombies on a boat or plane could be very fun.

Just in case anyone looks at this topic and see's it as us trying to suppress people's character ideas and plot ideas for role playing that isn't the case. What we wanted to clarify and try to fix was unrealistic situations in a role play topic that was based in a realistic area and format. If you wanted to create a topic that allowed people to have masterful skills in weaponry and access to advanced or military type weapons that is totally fine. All that needs to be done is to express that that is the kind of topic that is being created when you set up the background for the initial post.
This applies to joining a topic as well. If you see a topic that is underway currently that you wish to join make sure to read it through all the way or ask someone that is role playing in that topic currently what the boundaries for skill and weaponry access are.

TLDR: You can create topics with a more unrealistic approach if that is more your style. Do NOT however join a topic that is based on a more realistic style of role play with unrealistic ideas and actions.
