But her team of mercs seemed oddly out of sorts. They all, to a being, paid more attention to her than their own fights. For the first time, not a single adventurer won their round. Looking down Em appeared saddened. She called her team away from the ring, and spoke to them in low tones. The party appeared unhappy, but they all nodded. Emerald stood, gave them all a half smile, and left the arena.

The first battle with the Druid went significantly better this time as they bested the cube! Then came the Ranger and the beast, however they were still too distracted, and suffered a rather embarrassing loss that could not be blamed on equipment malfunction. The Monk took on the Displacer beast in a rather impressively matched fight but ultimately won. The pressure was too much for the Warlock, they failed to dodge the Dragon's fire, somehow tripping on the hem of their own robe.

Taking the floor against the owlbear, the Merc missed their mark wildly, and weren't able to draw their weapon before the beast closed, and they lost. The Warlock, now starting to regret their insistence on facing the Dragon faced the foe once more. Clearly their mind wasn't in the game, for though they lasted longer than before, they lost all too easily.
