(( XD Since Blah hasn't been able to come on yet, I'll just say that Yuki and Bana are back at the old mans house now?))
Yuki looked up as Irene and Niko came out of the trees. She had expected them to destroy the necklace, but what surprised her was that Irene was able to get back on her own. She didn't seem to be affected by the loss of her necklace. Yuki smiled slightly, then looked down again, remembering the old man. "Irene, I'm sorry..."
Niko looked up at Yuki, then saw the look on her face, and glanced around for the old man. He was lying next to the house, but was deadly still. Yuki had already gotten rid of the blood, not wanting an appearance from Shadow on top of everything else. But even without the blood, it was easy for Niko to see what had befallen the old man. |

Niko held her against him, one hand on the back of her head. "There was nothing you could have done, Irene," He whispered. "As much as we want to, we can't control everyones destinies, or change their fates. We're not gods. I'm sure Merlin knew that." He tried his best to confort her, knowing what it felt like to lose someone close to you.
Yuki looked down at Bana, then knelt beside her, placing her hand on the childs shoulder. "Something bad just happened to the old man, and Irene's sad," She told the child gently. "She'll be alright in a while, she just needs some time, okay? We'll try and cheer her up when she's had time to mourn what happened." |

Irene sighed. She pointed her finger at the lock and she looked like she was concentrating very hard. A small bolt of lightning went right into the key hole, and the lock snapped open. Irene took a quick exhale, almost in truiumph, and opened the drawer. In it was a necklace that looked exactly the same and a note. Irene put o the necklace, but something wasn't right. "This necklace has no power in it." Irene picked up the dusty note and oppened it.
'My child Irene,
I regret to tell you that I am the one who cursed you and Mariah with your powers. When I realised that that would only cause more harm than good, it was too late. I regret filling your life with woe, princess.
I have forseen my death at the hands of your best friend Mariah. I cannot deny it will one day happen. But I also forsaw you with wonderful friends. People you will cherish for the rest of your life. If you are reading this note, these things have already happened. The last thing I foresaw is your final control of your powers, and the discover of light. For like Mariah has darkness, light my child will lead your way.
Have you ever wondered the shape of your pendant? Not only was this particular shape the same one your mother wore as queen given to her the day she birthed you, but this heart symbolizes what makes your light shine so brightly. "The last word is smeared... I can't make it out." Irene said through tears. She was crying out of happiness now, but was disappointed the last word couldn't be read. Irene felt that feeling now stronger than ever, and her powers were completely under control. "Why do I feel this mysterious emotion, what does it mean?! Why do I feel it when I'm near Niko. Why do I feel it around those I care about? and why can't I get it out of my mind?" Irene was filled with so many feelings. Anger, frustration, sadness, happiness, confusion... But the strongest still was that one emotion she didn't know the name of. She turned to the others, holding tightly but not wrinkling the old note. Her mother's necklace glistened in the dim light. "If only I knew the name of this feeling... I wouldn't lose it because I would know it's real."
