Vincent of the Fire

Vincent indeed stepped back and looked at the other, wiping the tears from his face, showing that no more fell. "That was my show of thanks, master. I owe you my life, though I don't see what good that would do. A nothing's life is nothing." He looked to the ground, his hand shaking nervously, though he hid it behind him, letting the blood run down his back and butt, and drip to the floor.

::The wolf ignored the explanation at least outwardly. It wasnt relevant to the task at hand.::

Your learning...

::Cerebus folded his arms across his chest.::

A nothing should know its place, and its worth. But no posession of mine will be without worth. Patch yourself and come with me.

::That was all, his voice hinted at nothing, his posture hinted at nothing. And he simple turned and walked away back towards ths stadium. Even through the forest the stone walls peeked out over the horizon. To Cerebus, Vincent was nothing, he was without worth, so how would he give him worth? Only time would tell. For now Vincent needed to not be making a bloody trail for more predators to follow.

The wolf would walk, and continue to walk the path back to the stadium, at which time he would enter the side exit and step beside the rim of the main arena, up above the pit as he waited for Vincent.::

Kupo wandered outside the Stadium and into a forest. he felt a dark presence within. 'It's been a long time since I've been in a forest and felt creeped out.' Kupo said, refering to the first time he had been taken by Malticus. He entered the forest cautiously, as dangerous fighters where in this forest, and Kupo was only in the academy.

The bough bent downwards lightly, as the figure poised atop leapt forward suddenly, springing through the air. Arms sprear outwards as if he were going to flap them and take flight any minute. His hip twisted, soon followed by the rest of his body in turn, his body slowly rotating mid-air.

It was a fluid motion, an artform of gracefulness only seen on an olympic level.

One full revolution complete, the arms suddenly stretched forward, and like a circus acrobatm, hands found purchase upon a new bough. Pulling, the figure's body upturned and heaved, swinging along the branch it held, to come up and land gently atop the bough, sitrring several leaves free to drift downwards to the ground.

Yellowed eyes narrowed, as the figure remained crouched upon the enw bough, observing for a few moments. He was garbed differently today, whereing a distinct red fishnet netting atop his upper body, both forearms heavily bandaged. A forehead protector plate was tied loosely against his, well forehead, the dark red cloth holding the what appeared to be silver plating in. Locks of bloodred hair framed a young face, the right side of which was bandaged here and there. A distinctive scar ran along, horizontally, against the bridge of his nose.

Atop the fishnet, a somewhat short, black flak vest, with collar upturned and covering just enough, up to above where his belly button would be. His black flagged pants billowed slightly, straps sticking out from the sides of the legs. He wore a simple pair of black boots upon his feet.

His head turned to the side..

From a tree, a few more leaves fall, and if you looked hard enough, you could see a leg hanging from it. A leg with black denim pants, and adorned with old combat boots. If you looked harder, you could see into the tree, and see the form of a man who had been through a lot. His chest was bare, and adorned with scars ranging from a couple of inches, to the length of his torso. On his back, on his left side, was a wing nub.

The face lifted, a hand pushing red hair out of the way of sunglasses, and words escaping his mouth. "Why are you here?"

"I could ask the same of you.." The voice carried no heavy weight in it, no gruff tones, maybe even no emotion in it. But his face as usual carried plenty of emotion.

A furrowed brow, this time more so from thought, deadpan eyes as a nuetral mouth greeted all who saw him.

"This is home," he said simply, looking own to the ground, sighing softly. "Then again, you already knew where I was, and you're here to talk to me, aren't you?" His own voice seemed to carry the tone of lost, unrequited love. How unfortunate.

".. ..." His eyes only glanced towards him for a moment, before looking back down to the forest floor.

"I'm putting a team together.. for an archeological dig. It's a very important assignment for the Stadium.. handed down from some very important people in Durem. Many other cities and nations have expressed interest.. It's not going to be exactly safe if you know what I mean."

"And you want me to help?" He jumped from the tree, landing on his feet and dipping down. He flicked his wrist a bit, and the symbols on his hand began to glow. He dipped his hand into the ground, much as if it were water, and when he hand was brought out, it seemed to hold molten rock. He began to shape it.

Undaunted Vahn merely swung his weight forward, hands still gripping the branch and hooking his legs, he now hung upside down, clinging lightly to the branch. He stared downwards.

"Well, it would be nice to have official escort.. You are with the police, aren't you?"

"Yes, but something tells me you don't want me there because I'm a police officer." He continued to shape and dip into the ground a few times. When he was done, he had made a shield, about two feet by two feet. He held it up vaguely. "A police officer follows the rules, and you want a rule breaker."

".. ..." Yellowed eyes narrowed, their gaze intesfying.

"Does it really matter? Do you really have to think about accepting or declining? Your blood won't give you that kind of comfort.. No matter what.. in the end your still just a monster. We all are born to do something.. Some to teach.. some to grow.. others to kill, to fight.. or to simply die. What were you born to do?"

"I wasn't born, I was made." He looked thoughtfully at the shield he had made, tilting his head. "I'll help, if you tell me why you chose me." He stood, and tossed the shield at the other. It wouldn't hit him, just land at his feet, so to speak.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 27, 2005 4:48 pm
His eyes shut closed as he grinned, that cat like look on his face eerily very creepy to see on him.

"Being made.. is the same as being born. I was made in the blood of a thousand men. That's when I was 'born'."

The freshly wrought shield clattered next to him.

"You have the same eyes as him.. Eyes that say you will never give up." Was all he said in response to answering why he was chosen.

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a flier, tossing it to the other. "I'll go." It was the same flier for the same dig he was asking him about. Cerebus had given it to him. "I'll go. If only because Master Cerebus told me to."
