A Reluctant Killer

Yuki smiled at Bana, petting her mares neck to keep her calm. "There are lots of people and buildings close together, and lots of different colors and sounds. You get all sorts of things, and anything can happen. There might be a festival going on now, I'm not sure. Cities have their ups and downs, but Heathenrow's great as far as cities are concerned."

Half-listening to Yuki try to explain cities to Bana, Niko watched Irene grow flowers around the old mans grave. He stayed back for a moment, to allow her space, then slowly walked up and gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "There isn't much else we can do for him, but his wish was for you to be happy. That much at least, we can do." He said, trying to find a way to cheer her up.

"Coolies! My mommy took me to a festival once. But we couldnt stay long" Bana said cheerfully as smiled down at Yuki. "Big festivals are great cause no one pays attention to whos around them"

Listu came apon a woman passed out in the middle of the forest. She unhooked her scythe from her back and held it at her side as walked toward her. "Hmmm, an't this an interesting surprise" Listu mummbled as looked around the area. "Quite a bit a fight'n here, guess that means theres no employers ether." Listu walked over and poked Mariah with her foot. "Hey, you alive?"

Listu looked at the woman and gave a chuckle. 'Looks like someone got beat to death, I wonder if all this mess is her or her opponent, probably the other sense she was the one out cold' "Listu for the time being. And who would you be?" Listu said calmly as held the scythe at her side not expecting the woman to be fighting anytime soon but still easy to swing upwards incase of human stupidity taking course.

"Hmmm, interesting. Well a large title like that makes a mercenary like me seem quite small.” Listu stretched a bit and gave a yawn making sure to seem as none caring as possible but still keeping an eye on Mariah at all times. “So Mariah I’ll be on my way before your freinds come to outnumber me. Could you point me in the direction of a person with large amounts of money to waste and people to kill?”

"If theres money for me in your ultimate plans you got an ally. And you dont have to worry about me being picky about my killings. I dont grow attached to living things and my loyalties fly to the one with the most money. You can take that as a warning or a pledge if you wish." Listu said as rested the scythe across her shoulder blades happy that she seems to have a current job. 'Wandering always gets so boring, its easier to go places when theres something to do in the direction' Listu thought. "So do we have a deal?" Listu said as held out a hand to shake.

Niko smiled faintly. "Why shouldn't we stay and help you? You're a nice person, Irene, I'm glad that you're happy." Without really thinking he hugged her around the shoulders, then took a step back and looked at Yuki. "We should get going."

Yuki nodded, grinning. "Who knows how long Mariah will be unconcious. Besides, I can't wait to show Bana the city." She started leading the mare by the reigns out of the village. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Niko gently take Irenes hand and lead her along. She smiled to herself, glad that her little brother finally seemed to be getting over his shyness.

"I can't wait ether! Can you tell me what it looks like Miss Yuki?" Bana asked egerly.




Listu smiled at Mariah. "I'm not the worst in the world. Just give me their discriptions and the direction they went. I'm guessing I'm not supposed to harm them until your there with backup?" Listu said smiling evily while hooking the scythe to her back.

Listu nodded "Very well I'll keep those two in my sights at all times then." Listu turned and started following the tracks leaving the area assuming that there the ones of the people she was supposed to follow. Listu paused when saw what looked like slashes in the ground left by some kind of weapon then ignored them and smiled evily. "Let the hunt begin" Listu said to herself before taking off at a high speed following the tracks.

Listu ran in a way that hardly gave any noise and when herd voices ahead of her, jumped into a tree and paused squinting her eyes to try to spot the group. Listu smiled as spotted a guy, two girls, and a child on a horse through the trees. Listu paused and smiled as looked at the child. 'Well at least now I have an excuse if they catch me' Listu leaned back in the tree a bit and sighed. 'That child was always so stupid its only natural that she would end up on the wrong side of things'

Listu took to following them from a ways away just barley keeping them in sight to make it harder for them to notice her.
