Sitting on the floor, he continued to cry like the damsel he deemed himself. His throat hurt, his chest ached, his neck was sore. ******** Kieran and whatever it was he wished to accomplish. And ******** Abel too for bringing him here in the first place. He hadn't realized it until now but he was shaking. He was actually shaking, he had been afraid of Kieran. Sniffling on the floor, he heard his phone go off. Jakob ignored it, let it ring. It was probably some scam number anyway.
He sat there a little longer, tears raining down as thought of all that could have happened. How stupid he was to have even let him get this far into the building with him. Now he knew where lived and where he worked. He didn't want Kieran coming back here. Oh god, he thought. What if he did come back and broke in? Would he hurt him even more than he just did? As his mind flooded with the possibilities of another ambush, he started to panic. His breath came in quick and shallow while his heart race a mile a minute. He couldn't breathe. He felt as though he would pass out. This was how he would die, alone and afraid.

It had been a long time since Jakob had his last panic attack. He couldn't even recall being this worried when he'd been cut open. Though that may have been due to the adrenaline along with all the blood he'd lost. Most of the time he was too stupid to be scared. But Kieran had really done it to him this time, he was good and afraid. He should have never gotten involved him. Him and Abel both, they just brought nothing but trouble. Safe, he thought he was safe. How asinine. There was no safe, nothing was safe, he would safe. Just like he would never be rid of Kieran or Abel or Cornelius or the whole ******** American mob. Nope, this was it. He would just constantly dancing around these ******** until he was dead. He was sat on the floor rocking slightly back and forth, staring blankly at the floor. In the background he heard his phone buzzing against the phone. Stupid scam calls, they never quit.
He stayed there on the floor for what felt like hours. Eventually his breathing came back to normal and his face was dry and crusted with tears. Kieran had never come back. Still he felt like s**t and he needed to pee. He slowly pushed himself up from the floor and made his way towards the bathroom. Flicking on the lights he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and the ugly bruise that had formed in the shape of Kieran's fingers. He looked away to attend to his needs first. A few minutes later he was back at the sink and washed his face. He sniffled a little but for now appeared to be all out of tears. When he was finished he went to grab his phone from the floor and was surprised by the amount of missed calls from Abel. He supposed he ought to fill him in, but he didn't have the strength. Taking his phone with him, Jakob flopped down on the bed and laid on his side. He kept his phone close in case he got another call, but for now he was tired and he wanted to sleep.

Without even realizing, Jakob had managed to fall asleep. He didn't think his actions would have such an affect on Abel. Half the time he didn't think the man cared that deeply for him. He should have called back before going to sleep, or at the very least sent him a text. Instead, he had slept deeply and soundly. His dreams were filled of Kieran and his hate filled words. He still didn't understand why he came here. Now he never would. It was over, this time for good. Frankly it was for the best, he didn't think he could stand to be in the same room with him after today.
The hours passed in a blur of visions and voices. By the time he arose it was well after midnight. He'd been asleep for almost ten hours. His head ached a little as did his neck. Glancing at his phone, he saw no messages or texts. So it seemed that Abel hadn't tried to reach him again. Abel, he thought. What time was it there? Would he still be awake after contacting him so early this morning? Crawling out of bed, Jakob kicked off the shoes he'd forgotten to remove and padded into the kitchen for some water. He had just grabbed a bottle from the fridge when there was a sudden knock at the door. He flinched at the sound, and cautiously moved towards the door. Peaking through the peep hole, he couldn't believe it.
Jakob quickly undid the locks and opened the door. Without even thinking about it, he wrapped his arms around the man and buried his face in his chest. He closed his eyes, breathing in his scent. He had missed him so much. Not only that, but after a day like today it felt like a tidal wave of relief washing over him. Jakob remained glued to him a minute or so more before pulling him inside.

It had been years since he'd last seen Abel, nearly as long since he saw Kieran. Despite his earlier thinking, he truly was happy to see him. He'd been wary knowing that Kieran was still in town. He didn't know where he'd gone or how long he'd be in town after today's spat. He liked to imagine that the trip could be getting cut short, but who knows. Standing by the counter, he felt Abel's eyes on him. He wanted to hide the marks on his neck, but should have done so before opening the door. He smiled tightly as Abel requested a coffee and moved to the cupboards. From there, he pulled out a bag of Dallymayr and a small silver scoop. Flipping up the top of the coffee maker, he replaced the filter with a new one. Jakob continued to busy himself with preparing the machine while Abel moved behind him. He didn't mind the male making himself comfortable. After such a long journey, he imagined he must be tired. Jakob finished what he was doing and put the bag of coffee grounds back where he got it. "Should be ready in a few minutes." he said, turning his attention back to the male. Moving around the counter, he came to sit beside him on the couch.
