[RP] The 'Verse (Accepting profiles)

"Not what I was suggesting." Jaden grunted before disappearing back out the door again.

When Aria finally stopped shifting around, Jas opened her eyes to find out why Aria had stopped moving. She was untangled, but Aria was still wrapped around her like a metaphorical octopus. For a moment she contemplated doing something about it, but then decided that Aria needed it for now. After all, the companion had come rather close to dying.

The moment that all of the crates were in, the beacons were set, and their line reeled in, Jaden closed the cargo bay door. Once the doors were shut and sealed, up in the bridge Jin-Li hit a button and air came wooshing back into the cargo bay. Jaden waited for the sound of rushing air to stop before taking off hir helmet and just as Jin-Li was racing out the doors to the cargo bay from the crew quarters, Jas started the process of taking off hers.

Aria fumbled with her helmet and got it off. As soon as both her and Jas were helmet free, the companion grabbed her by the collar of her suit and pulled her into a firm, passionate kiss.

"That's for being enough of an idiot to throw yourself off a ship for me."

She then started trying to unwrap herself where she'd sort of frozen in place around Jas. Maybe that would have been a good plan before they had gravity again. Eventually she sort of gracelessly rolled off the captain and onto her back in the middle of the cargo bay. Now that she was warmed up, the shoulder where the crate had struck her was starting to ache. The effort that normally went into getting out of her suit just seemed like a lot of work.

"Hey doc, you might wanna come down to the cargo bay, you might got another patient." Jaden mused over the ship's intercom. "Possibly two. I think Aria just killed cap's brain."

Jas, on the other hand, had sunk to sitting on a crate while trying to process the fact that Aria had kissed her. Again. With perhaps enough passion to get a dead man to sit up and pay attention.

While Jas was contemplating that, Jin-Li came charging the rest of the way into the cargo bay and tackle-hugged Aria's prone form. The mechanic was babbling something about losing the companion and the dangers of space and statistics on vacuum at a speed far too fast to understand completely.

Fayra was already in the infirmary, she'd gotten up seconds after Jin-li had. She responded quickly enough though. "I'm just warming up some fluids to give Aria. What'd she do to the captain?"

Aria wrapped her arms around Jin-li, giving only the tiniest flinch when the mechanic piled onto her. She didn't really mind, it was nice to hold onto people right now. "I'm sorry, mei-mei I didn't mean to scare you." Like Jas' nickname, she so rarely used anything other than a person's name that it really seemed to emphasize the difference between how Aria normally was and how shaken she was now. It was rare to see the companion allow herself to appear vulnerable in any way.

"Kissed her." Jaden shrugged before tugging hir gloves off.

The gloves were tossed onto a strapped down crate before Jaden undid the top half of the suit and loosely tied the arms around hir waist to keep them out of the way. Once the suit was mostly dealt with, ze clomped over to the nearest crate and began tugging it into a suitable spot for storage.

"Gorramit, cap, what's in these damn things? They're heavy as ********." Jaden grumbled with a grunt before waddling across the deck with the crate.

Aria pet Jin-li's hair while she waited for Fayra to arrive. No point trying to do much else until then.

When Fayra arrived she had a tray of stuff in her hands, and she paused on the threshold and had a mental debate about telling Jaden not to lift anything that big with hir ribs in the condition they were in. Didn't seem much point. She'd just make her drink some herbal tea later. Or at least attempt to.

"Excuse me, Jin-li. Can I have Aria for a moment? I just need to give her an IV that should help her warm up." Fayra knelt beside the companion's form, setting her tray down in front of herself. "Here, you can put these under the captain's nose. It should help with the shock."

Fayra placed a small vial of smelling salts into Jin-li's hand. For a brief moment their hands touched, Fayra's warm and soft as she placed the salts there.

"I'm fine." Jas insisted absently, waving Jin-Li off

Almost mechanically, she pulled her suit's gloves off then undid the fasteners and stepped out of it. Jas stepped over to where Jaden was and grabbed one end of the crate so Jaden could carry the other and the pair began shuffling the crates out of the way.

Jin-li, on the other hand looked from the vial to Jas then back at the vial then at Fayra. She was very clearly contemplating something just as deeply as Jas was up until she scrambled after the tall blonde, leapt up onto a crate and shoved the vial under Jas' nose just to be sure. Automatically, Jas recoiled and bobbled the crate. At the crate's sudden shift, Jaden bit out a curse, dropped the crate and suddenly went still and silent with a hand to hir ribs. A moment later that curse was expanded into a full stream of cursing.

Fayra helped Aria sit up after giving the salts to Jin-li. She didn't know much about the suits but between her and Aria they got her gloves off and started to work getting the upper part of the suit down off her shoulder.

"It it your shoulder?" Fayra peeled back the cotton shirt Aria had on beneath the suit to look at said part of her.

Aria just nodded.

Once the chest portion of the suit was off, Fayra put an IV into Aria's with swift efficiency. About then Jin-li decided to follow doctor's orders (hey, at least someone on the ship did) and applied the smelling salts to Jas.

"Really? How do any of you survive on your own? Is it always like this? You, sit down, stop lifting gos se you know perfectly well is too heavy and is just going to injure your ribs further," this was directed at Jaden with a glare and a finger point at a crate that was just about chair height. The outburst was a lot from Fayra and she swept Jas and Jin-li alike into her glare.

Behind the glaring doctor, Aria managed not to laugh, pressing her lips together and meeting Jas' eyes with her own sparkling ones.

With an aggravated sigh, Fayra returned to Aria and checked the warm IV bag she's just hooked up to her.

"That's what I keep asking myself, doctor." Jas replied with a wry smile.

She let the crate fall the rest of the way to land with a heavy thump on the deck before nudging Jaden into the indicated spot. The muscle, on the other hand, seemed to be unsure whether ze was in more pain or if ze wanted to glare at the doctor more. Jin-Li, on the other hand looked sheepish for a moment before disappearing to hide behind Jaden and hir crate.

"I suppose it's a good thing you joined our merry crew of accident prone misfits." the tall blonde continued as she sat on the crate she and Jaden had just been carrying.

Fayra didn't appear in the least bit perturbed by Jaden's glare, returning it full measure when she turned to see if her instructions were being followed.

"I don't think I will ever be bored again," she responded to the captain.

Meanwhile, Fayra returned to Aria again and helped her to get her shirt up and over her head. Beneath she was wearing a sports bra so all anyone got to see was her stomach. That and the rather spectacular bruising that was already coming to surface of her shoulder. Fayra picked up a blanket from the tray and wrapped it around the companion for warmth and privacy.

Carefully, the doctor and companion worked together to determine if her shoulder was just bruised or if there was more to where the crate had struck her or not. Fayra was very aware of the sounds of movement around her. Now that her flash of anger had passed she was aware of just how she'd spoken to Jaden and unsure of how ze would respond.

"I think we'd all rather that you were, doctor." Jas replied before standing. "Well, I suppose this means that my cargo bay is going to be a mess for a while. I should get back to the bridge since there's not much left to do. Meimei, if you could take a look at Aria's suit to find out what went wrong?"

Something that sounded like an affirmative came from somewhere behind Jaden. The tall blonde took that as an agreement, nodded politely to Fayra and Aria, and headed up the stairs back toward the bridge.

"Can I go too, doc? Or are you gunna make me sit here until my ribs heal?" Jaden asked with a faint hint of a smile.

"The thought had crossed my mind," Fayra answered. Jaden couldn't see her expression but there was amusement in her voice now rather than agitation. "But I would like you to come with us back to the infirmary so I can do a quick scan and make sure you didn't puncture anything important. You can keep your shirt on."

Fayra took a breath and pushed some of her hair back from her face and stood up, holding the IV bag attached to Aria. "Come on, lets get you to your feet." Fayra moved around to Aria's good arm and helped the companion get to her feet.

"Do I pass inspection?" Aria asked.

"No, you're coming with me too. I think the cold numbed it, but your collarbone is fractured. Or, was. Hanging off the captain might have caused the fracture to become a proper break. I'm going to have to scan your shoulder and then figure out how best to bandage it."

At this point Fayra just sounded resigned and waved a hand at Jaden to let hir know it was okay to get up.

As Fayra spoke to Aria, Jin-Li scampered across the deck. One moment Aria's suit was spread out on the deck and the next it had been replaced by the vial of smelling salts. The blur of movement that was the ship's mechanic darted across the deck then up the stairs toward the cockpit.

Jaden scowled at the fact that Fayra deemed it necessary to scan hir ribs. The muscle took a slow breath in to test the pain and hir scowl deepened.

"No holes in me. Nothing's broke more. I've got things to do, doc." Jaden grumbled.

"Oh!" Fayra sounded genuinely surprised for a half second. "I'm sorry, did I make that sound like an option? I'm scanning your ribs or I'm wrapping them myself, take your pick."

Aria made a mental note to point out to Jas she liked the medic.

For a minute Jaden glared as ze weighed hir options. Then, growling something angry in Chinese, ze followed the doctor and companion toward the infirmary. Scanning hir ribs was a better option than letting Fayra wrap them. At least ze got to keep hir shirt on that way. And there was less touching involved.


Jin-Li skittered her way onto the bridge where Jas had just settled down to calculate their next vector. The tall blonde looked up at the patter of bare feet on the deck and smiled faintly. Then she frowned in thought as something occurred to her.

"She kissed me." Jas said suddenly, drawing Jin-Li's attention from the suit she had with her to the blonde. There was a brief pause as she contemplated the statement then another fact. "She wasn't drunk." Jin-Li nodded silently in agreement, wondering where this was going. "I'm not drunk." Again, Jin-Li nodded slowly. "And she kissed me! What'd she go and do that for?"
