Owan paused the movie for a moment as he went into the kitchen retrieving the pizza and cutting it while it was still hot bringing it out to where he and his companion were watching the movie, setting the plate down so she could reach it as could he, as he spoke quickly. "Give it a little bit before you try and eat it cause it's still quite hot, and I don't want it burning your mouth.." he said with a smile grabbing the remote again and hitting play letting the movie resume

Ariadne watched Owan walk away and she dipped under the water again and came up in time to see him return with food. It steamed with heat and the smell made her mouth water and she breathed it in greedily, her stomach ached for some food. She nodded and lingered around the edge and looked up at Owan. "Okay." she said and looked longingly at the food and glanced to the screen when he played the movie again. The movie as a whole was cute. And a few minutes later Ariadne all but attacked the pizza and ate it. It took her a few tries before she figured out how to eat it but once she did she thought she was in heaven. The food was delicious and she ate it quickly.

It wasn't to long before the movie was done, and it was certainly happier than she expected it too be. Turning she looked to Owan, breathed in and then spoke. "It was cute... but there were many things were wrong." she said softly.

"Like what?" he asked leaning against the wall eyes half lidded full like her form the food. "I mean besides the obvious, your ruler probably isn't Poseidon god of the Seas, or that you don't understand humans at all, cause you seem to understand quite a bit, and aren't overly amazed by every little thing." Owan added so it wouldn't sound like such a vague question. He closed his eyes fully realising he was growing tired from all the excitement of the day, but he fought sleep so he could listen to her, and what she had to say.

Ariadne moved out so she could float about freely but stayed close enough so they could still talk. She nodded slowly at his assumptions. "You are right, the gods no longer rule us, just as they no longer rule you. Now it is the elders that guide us. There is no "king" for mermaids." she said and noticed how tired Owan looked, but he wanted her answers but she wondered if he was up to hearing everything right now.

"We have to know some things about you humans, or else you may have found us sooner." she said softly and then glanced around. On the far side of the tank she saw a ledge where she could sleep on and that would suit her fine. "I think this should wait... we are both tired." she said and looked to him.

Owan opened his eyes and looked at her. "Yes, I suppose so, but before I nod off, is there anything I can get you, to make you more comfortable in there, while your sleeping?" he asked forcing himself to focus. Even as he did he thought over her words, about the gods no longer ruling them, one more odd thing to consider he thought as he waved his thoughts away. Letting out a big yawn he stood stretching to keep himself from falling asleep just yet.

Ariadne glanced around then back at him before she slowly shook her head. "I will be fine this night, but thank you." she said a little surprised that he was offering to provide her with some comfort for her sleep, but she had slept in harder places that this before. Normally a mermaid would retreat to an underwater or coastal cave where they could hide and sleep free from any dangers. But she knew that there were no sharks to prey upon her in this tank so the ledge would be fine.

"Sleep well Owan." she said softly before she slipped under water and swam to the far side of the tank, she took her time however and swam about the bottom of her temporary home familiarizing herself before she surfaced and pulled herself from the water and onto the ledge. She positioned herself so her most of her tail hung off the edge and was submerged into the water to keep herself partly wet, She settled herself down and cradled her head with her folded arms and waited for sleep to take her.

Owan smiled as he watched her swim, and turned on his cd player a beautiful opera like song playing filling the room, but at a level just loud enough to hear, but not enough to disturb. Owan himself grabbed a pillow, and blanket and laid on the floor near the tank. "If you need me, just get my attention." he called to her over the music before closing his eyes and drifting easily to sleep.

Ariadne didn't reply to him her mind gently already falling to sleep, but the music soothed her, and she started to sway her tale in time with the music, the movie had been right about one thing. Mermaids were very musical creatures, it was in their blood and apart of them every day. And too the beautiful human music she fell asleep her tail still responded and swayed to the music even after she slept.

When she woke she was not sure if it was morning, because she could not see the sun but she woke slowly and once she was roused pushed herself off and into the water, quietly plunging into the depths of the tank. She swam for a long time, she hadn't checked if Owan was awake or not but the song from the previous night had stuck with her. And underwater she sang, if there were microphones placed under the water Owan may hear the song but above water it would not be heard. Ariadne swam in graceful and full circles, diving, rising, twisting and circling in beautiful patterns. A few times she would pause for a brief second before continuing. And after a little while she would start to periodically surface to almost check on Owan.

Owan rolled over rubbing his head not fully awake yet, forgetting where he was falling into the tank himself with a big splash as he woke up panicking due to an inability to swim. His mind surging with panic as he tried to force himself up to grab the edge of the tank only serving however to sink himself more his head well under and his fingers just barely above the water as he tried to swim, but could not.

Ariadne felt the first disturbance in the water the moment that Owan had fallen in. She turned quickly and swam to his side of the tank and saw the human man fully submerged in the water, flailing his arms as he tried to claw his way to the surface. She didn't need to think she flicked her powerful tail and was at his side within seconds. Her hands grabbed him and pulled her close to him and without thought she pulled him to the surface, though he was bigger than her in stature, in the water he was weightless.

She angled him so his head could stay above water and pulled him to the side of the tank so he could grab on and then slipped under the water again and pushed him up from underneath and onto the floor on the side of the tank. She then came back up again to make sure than he was breathing alright, he had only been under for a very brief and panic filled seconds but she had to be sure.

Owan coughed and panted laying on the ground, alive, but shaken. "Thank you..." he said lowly eyes closed as he got up and turned away ashamed at himself. What kinda marine biologist can't swim, Owan is the only one he's ever heard of, and it's one of his biggest handicaps when trying to do his job. He cant go in the water with the subject it has to be brought to him, and if it hadn't been for her he would have died. "I guess I need to let you go now..." he said lowly he didn't want to, but she'd just saved him, and he re-payed debts no matter who they were to. "Mind giving me a little time to change my clothes so I don't look like such an absolute mess?" he asked turning to look at her some tears in his eyes, obviously very upset after falling in the water.

Ariadne saw him turn from her and she became worried, even though she could hear him gasping in breaths. She leaned against the tank and then pulled herself out of the tank and move to sit near him just in as he said that he would let her go. And she was shocked, just like that? He would just let her go.

Ariadne put her hand on his arm and leaned over him gently and checked on him. Freedom was so within her grasp Ariadne knew she should be grabbing at it but her worry for him seemed to cloud that. "You need to learn to swim..." she said gently. Yes, she had saved in this time, but what if he let her go? And he fell in the pool again? "I will teach you." she said gently and then lifted her hand and brushed some of his dark wet hair away from his eyes.

Owan felt her touch and held still save for shivers from being cold with a bit of air going over him. "It's fine, just need to be more careful, a person who cant swim shouldn't sleep next to water with nothing to make sure they don't roll in..." he said his words sounding rehearsed like this had happened before, and he'd had to tell people the same thing. "Besides... I can't think when I'm in the water my mind, it just shuts down..." he added after a moment his hand gently touching her hand. His eyes a swirl of things, despair, fear, self loathing, curiosity, and something else.

Ariadne looked down at him and brushed her hair back away from her face and breathed in deeply. "When I first changed... and took humans legs... I couldn't walk. I had to flop around trying to use two limbs instead of one. I gave up many times... but others pushed me, helped me learn to walk." she said gently as she recalled that first time, her sister and brother had been there to help her every step of the way, literally. "I will teach you to swim, you can learn, you just can't give up." she said as she stared into his eyes, she wanted him to enjoy the water, which his life revolved around, to be able to do what he wanted and not fear it.

Owan was silent for a moment before speaking. "Alright, but I warn you I've tried before, but I just cant, focus once I'm in the water..." he said still looking unsure, but willing to with her help. "Just don't be surprised if I cant do it..." he said trying to smile some as he turned fully to her water still dripping off of him. He truly had the look of a drowned rat, but on closer inspection past the wet clothes, his form was more visible due to the clothing sticking to him showing him to be fairly fit for a scientist.
