Fayra hid her smile by turning around, and walking alongside Aria toward the infirmary. She kept her hand up so the IV was elevated, putting it on a rolling holder once they actually reached the infirmary.

"Have a seat, Aria." Fayra gave her a glass of water some and a pair of painkillers to tide her over before getting the scanner.

The medic fetched her scanner and started water to heating at the same time. Fayra stepped close to Jaden, flicking the readout on and starting a scan of the muscle's ribs. She was thorough, double checking the part she knew was hir injured side.

"Alright, you look good," Faya announced. She set the scanner down and put some herbs into a cup, pouring the same tea she had made Jaden drink the first day ze had wrapped hir ribs. "You can take this with you. It's good for the bones."

"It ain't gunna make me sleep, is it?" Jaden asked, eyeing the cup with a level of suspicion. "And I told you. No holes in me. I know when I got holes in me. This is just a bit of a dent."

Fayra actually smiled up at Jaden, shaking her head. "No, it's just good things that will help you to mend a little faster. No added nap." She continued to hold the cup out for Jaden until ze took it from her.

Jaden as taken care of as Jaden could be, Fayra returned her attention to Aria.

Reluctantly, Jaden took the mug. Just as ze was turning to step out of the infirmary, Jas came rushing down the stairs. The blonde almost bounced off of a wall then Jaden when she turned to run into the infirmary. Jaden blinked down at Jas once, frowned then moved out of her way moments before she poked her head into the infirmary.

"You kissed me." Jas said before pausing for a moment. "And you're not drunk." Another pause. "And I'm not drunk." Another pause, and this time a glance down at Aria's chest followed by a faint blush. "Annnd...I should come back later."

Aria looked up from her shoulder to Jas as she came rocketing into the room. Oh, really nice they could talk about this with everyone present.

Fayra wisely tucked her head down and didn't look at either of the participants of this conversation. Though she listened fiercely. For all appearances the medic had gone temporarily deaf as she continued to get ready the materials for setting and wrapping Aria's shoulder.

"Very observant of you, Jaswinder. And you saved me," Aria responded calmly. She shifted her good shoulder and pulled the blanket more snugly around herself. Her enigmatic grey eyes lifted to meet Jas' blue ones, keeping her in the room before she ever said anything else. "Might as well have this conversation now as any other time. Yes, I kissed you. If you like I'll do it again. If you think that the things I told you in my room only applied while we both had been drinking you're incorrect."

Jaden chose that moment as an opportunity to disappear into the depths of the ship. Unlike Fayra, ze could escape the incoming discussion that perhaps involved too much information about their crew mates' private lives. Jas, on the other hand, blushed a darker shade of pink at Aria's tone, opened and closed her mouth twice and then gestured to Aria.

"Don't dope her up too much, doctor. Not unless you're good at vector calculations. And...er...I think I'll wait until later to continue this conversation." She said. The order came out as steadily and calmly authoritarian as ever, but the hedge had the hint of a smile and Jas excusing herself more than a hint of embarassment.

With that, Jas was gone again. This time at a far more sedately calm pace than she had arrived.

Aria smiled at Jas' retreat though she wasn't sure how had won that discussion. Without questions what had just happened Fayra returned to what she had been doing.

Sometime later, Aria arrived on the bridge. She had her arm in a sling when she walked through the door. Her clothing hadn't really changed much, she had her long-sleeve cotton shirt on she'd been wearing in her suit. Her arm was in a sling, close against her body and a brace on her shoulder that Fayra has constructed to keep her shoulder in place. That bruising which had been on her shoulder when she had been in the cargo bay was visible just at the neckline of her shirt.

"So where are we going?" Aria flumped into her chair, glad that it was her off hand that was stuck in a sling. "Jaswinder?"

"Hera. I think. But I can't get these to resolve themselves..." The blonde replied absently as she absently scratched at her temple with a stylus then stuck the back end in her mouth to chew lightly on. "I may have made a sign error somewhere. Or maybe I converted something wrong. Because even if they did resolve, I'm currently getting a travel time of three months and that can't be right."

"Blehhh." Jin-Li chimed in from the tumble of crates tucked in the nose of the bridge for storage.

Eventually, Jaden poked hir head into the infirmary with the now empty mug in hand. Ze had been attempting to be quiet, but hir version of quiet on the ship tended to be less clomp-clomp-stomp and more of a tapping noise as the soles of hir boots hit the deck.

Aria brought the numbers over to her screen and started to work through them.

"Don't worry, Jin-li, it won't take us three months to get there. No more than a day or two once the numbers are- there it is." Her free hand flew over the screen, adjusting a few numbers here and there, the companion was able to get the equation to resolve. "There, eighteen hours."

In the infirmary, Fayra had the rest of the hot water she'd heated for Jaden's tea in a mug of her own and a blend of her own herbs. She was seated on a low stool that would normally support someone's feet when they were seated on the table. Her hands were wrapped around the mug, absorbing the warmth through the ceramic.

A beat after Jaden poked hir head into the room, Fayra looked up from her contemplation of her drink.

"Jaden? Is everything okay? You didn't poke a hole in anything did you?"

"I never did get very high marks in maths." Jas mused as she looked at the changes that Aria had made. "Now that looks more reasonable. We may have to hire more help though. Jaden and I were supposed to unload crates on the planet after. Hell, we may have to put into port for a while if we can't. I've got a job lined up on one of the little moons that's more of an active thing..."

"Nah. Just returning your cup, doc." Ze said, raising the mug then placing it on the nearest bit of empty counter space. "Takes a lot more than a crate to poke holes in my hide."

With the numbers gone from her screen, Aria leaned back in her seat with a deep breath and closed her eyes. "That's why I do the paths and you do the fancy stuff." Her voice was tired when she responded.

"Oh." This time there was no sass to Fayra's oh and the rise of her eyebrows. She set her cup on the counter when she stood up, moving to accept the mug from Jaden. "I hope it was okay. I'd have put some honey in but I didn't want you to think I was slipping you something."

"And why I was never a starpilot. Flying an ambulance made me happier anyway." Jas nodded before glancing over at Aria. "You should go get some rest. Can you get into your room on your own okay?"

She had been asking with the intent of having Jaden help Aria into her room while she set their course, but it wasn't until after she was inputting it that she realized that the question could be taken as an offer. It was too late to take back that implicit offer after she had uttered the words. If she did, that would be discourteous and even she would contemplate challenging herself over it. Or, at least, she would have when she was younger. These days, it didn't seem like it was worth the effort very often anymore.

"Doc? Have you ever had mudder's milk?" Jaden asked dryly. "Your tea's not that bad compared to that. Or some of the higher proof moonshine."

"No, I'm fine. I'm just going to sit here for a few and then head that way. Fayra gave me something, now that the math is done I can take it." Aria smiled a little with her eyes still closed in Jas' direction. "She says I broke my shoulder when the crate hit me." Actually she'd officially broken it when she'd been with Jas. Or caught by her line. But that was better than the alternative and she didn't want Jas to feel it was her fault.

"No, I haven't. But it really is good with honey. If you'd like I'll make some tomorrow. Just tea and honey." Fayra walked to the sink she had in her infirmary and placed the cup in it.

In the short time she'd been on the ship, the infirmary already felt like a place where people actually could get healed. It was clean, though it had never been dirty, but she had her tea-herbs displayed and labelled clearly. They didn't say what they were for, but each plant had a carefully written card with it's name. A white coat was sitting on the back of her chair and it wouldn't be surprising if she had a stash of white blouses in the room as well.

"I see..." Jas said neutrally as she started setting the ship on the vector that Aria had worked out.

The ship's captain was clearly lost in thought and worried about something. Being at least vaguely worried about something was Jas' usual state, however. If she wasn't worrying about the crew she was worrying about their next job or the ship or their job after that. For the moment, she was trying to figure out what to do now that half of her crew was injured in some way or another. And then there was the whole issue of her and Aria. And then there was her AND Aria.

"The next time we're past Canton, I'll pick up some extra and you can have some." Jaden grinned wickedly before looking around briefly. In the short time that Fayra had been on their ship she had made the small infirmary into more than just a place where the crew stored things and got patched up. "Made a home for yourself here, didn't you?"

After a minute passed, Aria got to her feet. Her grey eyes looked at the back of Jas' head for a second before she walked around to the front of the captain's chair. Moving slowly and using only the one arm, the companion sat down and leaned her head against Jas' leg.

"You said you wanted to talk?" It was her uninjured shoulder that was against the calf of Jas' leg.

The medic looked around at Jaden's comment, her eyes lingering on those things which she had brought or changed when she arrived on the ship. "I spend almost as much time in here as I do in my quarters so I might as well. It doesn't seem Jas is going to run out of work for me to do anytime soon."
