Clair Vault Universe Corvo Bianco Clair Vault Universe Corvo Bianco Clair Vault Universe Corvo Bianco Well, I think better actually. lol Now that I'm getting a sense for what a working ability looks like, I'm seeing the my newer creations have much more in the way of functionality. Suppose that just goes to show, though, that your first RPC is probably not going to be all that great. How long have you been RPing? Around 3 years. And not necessarily. Sure we always screw up on our first creations no one is excepted from them. But they are the greatest since the first characters are the ones that show us our flaws and how to improve when building one. Eventually you can make a reboot. Honestly, some characters are just too good. The reboot is just minimal. Right, the inevitable reboot. That's a nice way to think about it. So, I gather that accessibility is key when making a good RPC. I like to use a lot of environmental effects and CC as well. Perhaps I should start slower? Idk, I've been doing this for two years Where would you place me on your little scale? BTW I hope I didn't come off as an a**. I don't mean to be one, and I can never tell if I'm seeming like it. There isnt a written guide as to what a good RPC is since we are talking about a wide range of options and variations. What I am speaking of is a Newbie friendly character. Illo may be a good RP character but he is a complex character, not a newbie friendly. Take my character for instance and also Gray reaper's They are newbie friendly. People read what they need to read and poof! all happy. If someone is interested enough as to investigate or ask the deep roots of our characters, well we can proceed to create a special section for those trivia hunters. Apart from the main profile so that it can still be newbie friendly but also offer some juicy backstory and interesting facts to entertain the curious ones. But I had to qualify Illo as he is right now. He'll probably go to advanced. But unlike Saint Clara he's able to participate on lower divisions without screwing up his whole kit. Well, I hope he can. lol I gave him plenty of nerfs to make him even playable. So, what about CC? Thoughts? Well I'm not fond of martial arts. But they usually are about making the other loose balance. So, knock backs, airborne tosses should be good on him. You nerf it? I am not going to try to imagine what he was before the nerf.
I did. lol It was ridiculous. He has some pretty big nerfs though. He has to be a very good bluffer to do any real damage.
I'm gonna have to edit my string theory character I think.

Maybe, but his main benefit from his power increase is the effect it has on his fortification strength. I won't have him be knocked around by a character that has bigger muscles.

Well that's something I can relate to as well. Just because the first person that stands next to me says he's going to be the next asura or shinigami doesn't mean he can't take on Alenxandra as he pleases. Let alone beat her. He would have to earn that right.

Ha, yeah. I mean, you finally get on the keys, where your words are your weapon, and you're expected to just bow down to every boss level character right off? No thanks.
Yeah, there are tough characters out there, but there's no reason I or you can't play one of them.
Where is your character?

Corvo Bianco Might as well get as many opinions as possible. What do you guys look for in an RPC? A good one. Also, how should a player try to better himself in the realm of RP? For me I just like a good unique RPC. I enjoy seeing what people come up with when reading profiles. So with that, it really urks me when people make their RPC's super similar to characters that already exist in an anime or a tv show or something because then it bums me out because you could have made a character so much cooler by coming up with your own ideas instead of relying on the ideas someone else already had. As for how to improve RP, it is the same as trying to get better at something else. Just keep rping. Find a group of people you like to rp with, test out new characters that you have not played as, etc.

That's why I tell you to keep your skills simple to read. Or you run the risk to run into every smartypants that says they can counter everything. No matter how smart they want to play they can't keep up with something if the creativity involved in the skill keeps improving.

im currently awaiting a review on my character.
as for guilds, i believe every guild can become amazing, creativity is a muscle when used it grows i to used it will snap, (: i believe people will try when asked what type of character in what type of world would they like to live in.
when questioned on there powers and abilities people will have ideas but often wont put effort into every idea but the ones they do they will learn from grow familiar with and soon will be able to adapt that character into almost any rp situation. all it takes is patience and a desire to try something new.

Yeah, I agree with that. The only character I really stole from was the Death Machines, and I never intended for them to be a serious thing anyway. I honestly just wanted to get in an arc, and there ya go.
Anymore I'm starting to like the old slice o' life style. I can be poetic if I feel like it, a little, and I don't have to worry about the fights.
How do you feel about Slice of Life?
