Corvo Bianco Might as well get as many opinions as possible. What do you guys look for in an RPC? A good one. Also, how should a player try to better himself in the realm of RP?
One of the first things I look for in a good RPC is a well-developed bio. To me it shows that the person put a lot of thought into their characters; where they came from, how they got here and what they want. It's one of the first things I look at when approving a character. As long as someone has the 5 sentences minimum they'll get approved of course. But when I see five sentences I'm fairly certain that the rper isn't going to stick around that long in the guild.. The abilities are the second thing I look at. If they're auto-hits or auto-dodges or the way they are written doesn't make any sense I generally think that they're not going to rp with others that well because they don't seem to realize that rping with other people requires fairness and give-and-take in terms of fighting someone on your level rather than just having an OP BA character that everyone should fear and admire wherever they go.
As far as actual rping, I look for original or different personalities. They don't have to be outgoing or flamboyant, but someone whose personality is at least developed enough to have their own quirks and flaws as well as a differing range of emotions to different situations. The strong silent type is way too overplayed in my opinion and a lot of times it just comes off as a way for an rper not to have to put any thought or time into their posts. That being said, I certainly don't mind people being new or inexperienced rpers not doing any of the above as long as they're willing to learn and put thought into their posts, eventually learning how to do those things.

I feel ya. I just try to leave room for updates in the bio section. I just think sometimes a long bio can make it seem like the character doesn't have any more adventuring to do, y'know?
As for playing the characters well, I think that's my strongest aspect of my RP game. The reason I got into RP was to keep my writing skills sharp until I finally have time to write some things more seriously.

Of course! You don't want to have your character so developed that there's nothing left to develop once you rp him/her. I've found that's really hard to do though as often my characters take on a life of their own and sort of develop in ways I didn't expect them to.

Oh, totally. It's really the most Fun part of RP. The spontaneity Makes it a real adventure. If You don't wanna open yourself Up a little, there's no real point in Joining. You might as well just Write your whole story in a fanfic. Lol
What are some of the most surprising Things to happen in your time here?

The most surprising things? Probably Herald getting his own body, a human form and completely branching off into his own storyline. Another thing would be Scarlet becoming as influential with people and as irredeemable as she is; she's really messed some people up. The third thing would be Texas and Mirai teaming up. I didn't really realize how good a team they'd make until it happened and that relationship kind of took on a life of its own as well as its own storyline that they share.
