As much as he wanted to, he couldn't ask Abel to stay. He knew that he had things to do and people to see. Whereas Jakob had tables, and dishes,...and aggressive sports fans. Not that he hated his life, but it was nothing compared to what Abel had going on in Chicago. Jakob sometimes wondered what it would have been like if the tables were turned and he was the one showing up on Abel's doorstep. Of course, in this world of make believe, Kieran would still be off god-knows-where, doing who-knows-what. They wouldn't have had to worry about any of the unpleasantness like they did today. But of course, like a lot of things, it was just a dream. One he was better keeping to himself.
After wetting his skin and hair, Jakob moved aside as Abel entered the shower with him. He took his time lightly scrubbing at his scalp. It had been a long day and an even longer night, so he saw no issue with giving himself a full scrub. Suds formed beneath his fingers, some unceremoniously plopping down to his shoulders and the tiled floor beneath his feet. He looked towards Abel to see if he was done with the water. There was no rush, of course, but he'd like to rinse before the got into his eyes.

Standing off to the side, he paid Abel little attention as the man rinsed off. Taking his time, he scrubbed away the days dirt and grime while bits of shampoo fell to his feet. By the time he was done, he caught Abel staring. A part of him wanted to poke fun at him, but he let it be. He was too tired to come up with something clever. Instead, Jakob smiled his thanks as Abel stepped aside and allowed him to rinse. Taking his place, he ducked beneath the water and closed his eyes as the suds melted away. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times, making sure it was all out. His hair hung heavy and limp from the weight of the water rushing down on him.
Stepping out from it once more, he proceeded to pick up his wash cloth as well as his body wash. Pouring some on to the cloth, he replaced the bottle to the shelf, and began to scrub. Like his hair, Jakob took his time cleaning himself, making sure to wash away all traces of dirt, sweat, and semen. Just like before, he kept his attention to himself, giving Abel some privacy. In the moment of silence, he wondered what he might be thinking about, if anything.

Slipping past Abel, Jakob moved towards the counter to pick up their towels. He handed one to the man before turning to dry off. He appreciated the space that was given to him and did the same for Abel. Once he was dry enough, Jakob wrapped the towel around his waist and followed Abel back into his bedroom, hitting the lights as he went. Jakob padded towards the wardrobe in the corner, opening the oak door and rifling through his clothes. It was getting pretty late...or was it early now? Either way, he was tired and needed a nap. He imagined Abel could use a little more than that. From the wardrobe he plucked out a pair of plain black boxers, a pair of sweats, and a shirt he'd stolen from Abel's very own closet. Jakob slipped the items on slowly, his lower back already aching as he bent over to pull up his pants. He tried not to let the pain show and simply finished dressing.
Closing the closet doors, he went back to the bathroom for some pain relievers. He started to lean over the counter when his mess from earlier greeted him, still waiting to be cleaned up. He grabbed a wad of toilet paper and wiped it from the counter. Tossing it in the trash, he followed up with a Lysol wipe from a tube he kept under the sink. Jakob again wiped the counter as well as the rest of the area for good measure before throwing that away as well. With his mess cleared, he continued with his original task. Opening up the medicine cabinet, he pulled out a bottle of naproxen and took it back to his bedroom. "Don't suppose you might need any, do you?" he asked, showing Abel the bottle.

Jakob was surprised that Abel said nothing about the shirt. Then again, it wasn't uncommon for him to simply commandeer his lovers shirts. Despite his absence, he still had a couple of Kieran's shirts as well. Jakob had tried but giving rid of them was hard. He always told himself that if Kieran ever came back, he'd return them to him. Until today, he'd never gotten the opportunity and now he wasn't so sure he ever would again. Heading into the bathroom, Jakob tried not to think on it too much. It was annoying how Kieran kept popping back into his head even when he didn't want to think about him. He made quick work of cleaning up after himself and retrieved some medication before exiting the bathroom.
Coming back to his bedroom, Jakob found Abel dressed and making himself comfortable on his bed. He smiled back at the male as he declined his offer. Nodding, he excused himself to the kitchen to fetch a glass of water. Opening the bottle, he shook two pills out into his cupped palm. Jakob then sipped from the glass and tossed the pills into his mouth, swallowing them whole. He took another few sips and left both the bottle and the now empty glass on the counter. Padding back to his bedroom, he came to stand before the man, stepping between his legs. "Is there anything else I can get you before bed? Maybe some tea or water, another pillow?" he asked, wanting to be a good host. Looking the male over he could understand if he just wanted to go to bed. He imagined he was tired and had no idea how long he might have been up at this point. Anything else they wanted to do like eat or shop, it could wait until later in the day.

He was grateful that Abel respected him enough to respect his need for privacy. Tonight, however, it wasn't necessary. He thought he had made it obvious in the ways he was also clinging to him. They'd already shared so much tonight, what harm could sharing a bed bring. As Abel pulled him close, he obliged. They stayed there a minute, simply holding on to one another. It wasn't exactly an embrace, but still comforting nonetheless. When he was released, Jakob did the same. He slipped away from Abel and moved towards the only window in his bedroom, tugging at the curtains to make sure no light would seep in whilst they slept. Once that was done, he moved towards the switch on the wall. "Good night." he said as he turned off the light. Instantly they were shrouded in darkness with only the softest of light coming from the adjacent living room. Jakob knew his room well enough that he wasn't bothered by the level darkness. He walked back to his bed and pulled back the covers, slipping beneath them, and making himself comfortable.
