If I were stuck on a desert island, I'd be a treehouse architect. Not the person who actually cuts down the trees and builds the house, just the one who sits back and watches, while correcting mistakes here and there. whee Man, I love treehouses...
Deuxia - I had three turtles once - our neighborhood has a pond in it and one year there seemed like there was a population explosion of painted turtles. My mom found one of the turtles because it was in the middle of the road and was about to be run over by our car! o_o; We kept them for a few weeks in a large tub out on the porch and fed them goldfish, and then let them go in the local pond. They ran away from us really fast when we let them go, so I doubt they developed any attachment to the people who kept them in a plastic prison for a while. sweatdrop
When I disappeared from Gaia for about two months, I left a few people waiting for commissions. Once I came back, I PMed those people and told them that they would get their pictures eventually, but they would be free since I took so long. Good side: Absolutely none of them complained, and they were extremely nice about it. A lot of them tipped me afterward even though I told them it would be free, too. 3nodding Bad side: I did and still do owe some art to people, so for now I'm a little bit of an art slave until I can work off my debt. I also risked subconciously wanting to half-a** the pictures, because I wouldn't get any reward for completing them and I just wanted to get them finished and out of the way.
AD - xd You caught Pocky! Oh, how I wish that was possible...
Shiro - That's an excellent list of skills you have there. xp I can only make a processor out of cheetos.
Memai - Love your new picture! I love the way you draw your eyes. x_x

All> AAHH!! I think I am now solving the commissioner thing. I just sent a PM to the bidder/commissioner.
Deuxia Devonair Dear DarkenAngel, Yesterday I finally inked your picture, but after getting some feedback from other fellow artists, here's my new proposition to you: I AM taking too much time, and I know it. I already gave you my apologies, but I still think I am in debt with you, and here's what I will do. I am giving you this picture for free, since I already had you waiting for a long time and I don't want you to be holding to a promise I don't know if I can keep. I'll cancel the trade right now.So, you receive your art anyways, and I am fulfulling my duty and honor as an artist (Let's call it that way because of lack of proper words, English is not my native language. sweatdrop ). Does this look ok to you? I hope it is, it is my wish that you are happy and satisfied, honestly. I want you to know that I understand what you feel and I am willing to make it up to you. Sincerely, Deuxia heart P.S: I have a reference here printed as a draft of both avatars, and the colors don't show too well. Would it be too much of a bother if I ask you to kindly re-send the reference? Thanks for your politeness so far, I appreciate it. I hope to hear from you soon.
From your point of view, what would be your opinion from this PM? I DID start inking the picture yesterday (I went to bed at 2:00 @_@! Seriously.) and I am so eager to keep him in a good mood! heart crying
Iyou> Turtles are just too cute to let go. We almost hit one of them with the car, too (that's how we found the third! xd ) We have one that completely seals itself. eek
Ryuu> You have forgotten meee.... crying heart
AD> I chuckle everytime I see your sig. xd whee
Nyome> Turtles DO run!!! And they scream, yawn, fart and have food preferences, too!!! eek gonk heart domokun xd
The big ones like to have fresh out-of-the-oven kentucky Fried Chicken. xd blaugh

UPDATE!!!
I got a reply!!
Quote: DarkenAngel Deuxia, I thank you for your kind consideration. But you're what.. a few months younger than I am? So I can understand what you're going through. I appreciate that you want to do the piece for free, but just as you have an artist's honour.. I have personal honour. Therefore, I propose a compromise.. of your compromise. I will give you a portion, a significant one.. of the cost of the picture at auction. I can't take an artist's hard work, without giving them *something* in return. Oh, and also, your English is just fine. So, there's what I propose, I'll dig for the info again and pass it along later this evening. Oh! So.. Should I cancel this trade? redface I really, really appreciate all of your patience, it's very rare to find commissioners/bidders that are as polite as you. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You! I was really driving myself crazy. ^_^ I'll wait for your response. Deuxia heart
*ish happy* heart
