"Then I suppose, if I am 'going nuts', then that means that you are as well?" Kiku teasingly questioned.

Kiku was one to rarely tease and the American seemed like the correct person to do so. After all, it was Alfred who caused Kiku to laugh for the first time since before WW1, so it was a good thing to be able to after so long. Pulling the phone away from his face, Kiku let out a string of heavy, chest paining coughs for about a minute before returning the phone to his ear once again.

"Gomen nasai, Alfred-kun," Kiku apologized, not wanting the American to hear him cough like that again, "It appears that my coughs have gotten less frequent. That is a good thing."

What Kiku wasn't telling Alfred was that as the coughs got less frequent, they became heavier, lasted long and could force up more blood than if he coughed frequently. Not sharing that information, Kiku kept his silence afterwards, waiting for the other nation to reply. A nagging voice in his head was telling him to tell Alfred of his true condition, but Kiku shut the voice up. He wasn't about to spill everything to Alfred and let the nation feel even more guilty about what he had done. Maybe someday, Kiku would tell Alfred the entire truth, but today just wasn't that day.

'Aw, you know it's not nice to mention someone's age, aru.' Yao whined a line, pouting only very briefly before smiling, even chuckling a little. It was difficult to try and be falsely moody... Especially seeming as he was now quite happy. He gave a soft noise of surprise himself when Ivan shifted, resettling himself after a few moments.

'I'm sorry for being so fat, Ivan.' Yao murmured with a soft frown, though there was a great deal of amusement in his eyes to take away the seriousness of his expression. 'I'll have to lose weight so that I don't make you suffer, aru.'

It seemed that the Russian was alright with this, so far. Yao remembered before that his actions had made Ivan quite uncomfortable, so it was probably best to avoid those... For now, anyways. And besides, being sat like this was probably only going to start rumours about them both being more than just friends.

Then again, Yao was slightly suspicious that such rumours had already spread. And also, he was worried that Ivan perhaps was not so fine with this... Though he caught the direction in which the Russian had glanced, and figured out why.

He then felt a little fearful. Although he was large enough as a country to overpower Belarus through sheer force alone... Because of her relation to Russia, Yao doubted that he could bring himself to strike back if she tried to hurt him.

After all, it'd be just like the situation between Russia and Japan.

'I'm glad...' He murmured, eyes flicking back to Ivan's face. 'Because there's something... I want to show you, aru.' He took one of Ivan's hands, again removing his glove. 'Because I trust you... Not to tell anyone else.'

He leant into the Russian, wrapping one arm around his neck before guiding the man's hand up the back of his shirt, wincing slightly at the chill.

No one else had seen it, and he wasn't exactly going to let Ivan see it right now, either. He stopped guiding when he felt the man's fingers brush against his scar, swallowing. 'There... That's it, aru.'

----------

'I'll quit it soon, miss. it's fun to tease you, even if only a little.' he purred, forgetting himself for the upteenth time that day. After all, he was meant to be proper, well-brought up, and-

'A-ah... My...!' Roderich had been unprepared for having his glasses suddenly taken. It hadn't affected his eyesight at all, but rather, bruised a little of his dignity... seeming as now, Gilbert would have figured that the glasses did nothing. 'I wasn't aware that you'd be so keen to play with me.' He muttered, grinning a little at the challenge. 'We'll see, we'll see, hm? Just because I'm charged with you... Does not mean you can get away with just anything.'

Kicking off his shoes, the Austrian began to crawl towards the ex-nation on the bed, with a little spark of fun in his eyes.
'Come on, Gilbert... Let's play.'

Ivan was somewhat cautious with the way Yao was comfortable sitting on his lap. It...nobody else was comfortable even being near him (aside from Natalia), let alone sitting on him. Plus, while Yao was quite light, despite their current teasing, it did restrict his movements a very slight bit. He wasn't used to that at all, especially with as many nations as there were in the room. And especially when he was as ill as he was now.

"Da.. definite suffering," he murmured, still in a soft teasing.

He blinked when Yao grabbed his hand again, pulling off the glove once more. He resisted a slight shiver when the leather was removed, since it was one of his last barriers.

He gave an extremely light blush when the Asian wrapped an arm around his neck, and then guided his ungloved hand over the Asian's back, under his shirt. He blinked, peering at the Chinese with a small amount of concern in his violet eyes. "Chto? What is it?" he mumbled, voice very soft so nobody could overhear them.

Blinking when the Austrian crawled onto the bed, Gilbert gave an amused smirk. "Huh. Looks like these glasses are the reason you have the stick up your a**. Take them away, and you can live a little," he commented, shifting back on the bed a bit until he felt something hard against his back. He glanced over his shoulder, fretting silently when he realized he had backed right into the headboard where he was trapped.

He glanced back over at the Austrian moving toward him, not sure what to do. This was rather poorly thought out, he decided, most likely because he was ill. If he had been healthy, he probably would have left the room to find a better defending spot. As a tactical genius, this really stung his pride, even if it was only a game.

"Heh." He bit back a soft curse word and kept his smirk on his lips. He was pinned, but that didn't mean he was defenseless.

That was a difficult question to answer. Not because Yao didn't know it -after all, he hadn't been able to mentally block the memory out- but because it was hard to admit his own foolishness. However, he'd gone this far already... He'd have to bare all to his friend.

'That's... What happened when Japan attacked me, aru.' He explained after a few moments, finding it difficult to force the words. 'After... Well. I don't know why he did... I think... He wanted respect. I suppose... I'm guilty of looking down on him as he was smaller than I... And then he grew. And I didn't see him... For the nation he was until he... Did something to radically change my view, aru.' He loved his brother dearly, there was no mistaking that. And, due to such, he'd not ever told anyone that Kiku's attack on him was when he was unarmed and unprepared... After all, that was shameful.

But the best way to make an impact, probably.

'He grew up too fast... I suppose I was a poor role model. And still am, aru...' He trailed off, closing his eyes with a soft purr. It was a little wrong of him to take comfort from such an intimate touch as this (after all, he was certain that Ivan was probably feeling uncomfortable like this) but he couldn't help it. His back was warm, of course, and the cool touch -although he had flinched at first- was actually quite soothing.

'I've not ever shown anyone else.' He mumbled as he leant into his friend, tucking his head under the Russian's chin. 'And if I'm too warm... I'm sorry.' He turned his face to one side in order to rest his cheek on Ivan's scarf, feeling a sudden want to be lethargic overwhelm him.

----------

'I'll make you eat those words, Gilbert. I have not, and never have had a 'stick up my a**', as you put it. You've just not ever played with me.' Roderich replied with a slight smirk of his own, watching the ex-nation intently as he advanced. 'Now... What're you going to do, if not give back my glasses...?' He purred, eyeing Gilbert like prey. It was a rare opportunity, to have the upper hand for once...

Of course, he neglected to remind himself that the albino was sick. That would just damage the feeling of satisfaction.

'Come on, Gilbert... Now what? Entertain me.' He murmured as he neared, deciding to breach the personal space gap once more by getting rather close to the man in front of him. 'Going to submit and give my glasses back...?'

This was a good situation, and it made Roderich shiver a little in anticipation. Although it was just a game... It meant something to have Gilbert pinned like this. It'd always been the other way around, after all.

Ivan was silent for a moment as he listened to Yao explain a difficult moment in his life. He had already placed things together from bits and pieces from when he took the Asian out drinking when he seemed upset, but to have it all laid out for him like this... It was something different.

"Not poor role-model. Children not take after mentor often. Look at Svitlana, look at me. Very different. Not Svitlana's fault," he murmured, his blush still evident when Yao ducked his head under Ivan's chin.

It felt weird that he was allowing someone to touch his scarf, since it was a prized possession. But...he wasn't bothered by Yao doing so. The Asian was quite warm, but it was comfortable against his own frigid temperature. He really hated the cold. It felt...nice, perhaps. "Is fine. Like warm," he mumbled.

Gilbert raised a brow, his back against the back board as he pondered his situation. "Sure you will," he retorted, a smirk crossing his lips as he figured out what to do. It was risky, but he believed he would be able to pull it off. "What am I going to do? Hm, I wonder..." he drawled, shifting so he was on his knees.

'Closer...closer,' he thought, not giving an indication of what he was planning.

"My, aren't you arrogant. What if I don't want to entertain you, hm?" he murmured, smirk still on his lips as the Austrian got even closer.

"Give you glasses back, huh? Now, why would I go and do something stupid like that?" the albino stated, moving forward swiftly and knocking the Aristocrat onto his back. With a quick movement, he straddled the Austrian's thighs so he couldn't move his legs and grabbed his wrists, pinning them over his head against the bed. He grinned slightly, shifting a bit to overcome the difference of the Austrian's slight nation strength and his own human strength. In this position, he was even able to keep Ludwig pinned.

"Now what?" he purred.

'Mm... I suppose the world suffers enough with one of me around already.' Yao chuckled lightly, feeling quite comfortable. It wasn't stuffy or suffocating, as Ivan was cool to the touch and it made it rather pleasant to sit with him like this. Yes, it was quite an odd position to be in with his friend but he couldn't care less... It was too soothing to give up for mere shy awkwardness.

'I'm glad that you didn't turn out like Kiku did, Ivan. I know I failed with my brother... But your sister raised you well. I can admit that I did fail Japan... And I paid for it. But... Let's talk about something else, shall we, aru...? Something... less traumatic.' He murmured, nuzzling closely to the Russian.

'But thank you for hearing me out, aru... It just feels like I complain too much sometimes.' He purred in contentment. 'Tell me... What have you been up to, recently...? We've not been this close in a while, aru.'

----------

Oh dear. this situation had definitely taken a turn for the worse... The Austrian swallowed, glancing up at Gilbert from this now less-dominant position with a look of fright fleeting in his eyes, briefly. He could feel the heat rising on his face, and was unable to surpress it... After all, this was quite an awkward situation for them both to be in.

'You seem to have improved in health...' he murmured thoughtfully, chest rising and falling rapidly with his quickened breathing. How was he meant to get out of this...? His mind whirred, and he gave a little experimental wriggle, finding it fruitless.

He was stuck.

'Damnit...' Not that he'd ever admit to it. Or give in. No, not when he'd almost had him... He'd almost won.

'My, my. What a pretty little position we find ourselves in.' he purred darkly in a response, deciding to rely on the tactic he'd known to work in the past.

'So... Are you going to play with me, or not...?' he let out a slight bubble of a laugh, layering it with a lusty tone. 'Come on... Let's see what sort of man you really are, prince.'

Ivan blinked at what the Asian said. This was the first time that anyone, nation or mortal, had said he was raised well. He didn't believe he was raised well, even, so it confused him as to why Yao claimed he was. After all, he was raised by bloodbaths and tyranny. He couldn't possibly have been raised well, not with how his loved ones avoided him.

But...Yao didn't want to speak of that anymore, so Ivan would keep his disagreement to himself.

When asked about his current situation, Ivan felt a bit reluctant. But, he supposed that he could trust Yao. "So soon after... after that, boss not want me out. Not much allowed leave house, so inside most time. Boss is wanting no outside involvement, so is somewhat isolated," he mumbled, knowing that this was still a depressing topic.

Somewhat amused when the Austrian's expression changed from mischievous to submissive, Gilbert moved his hands so that he pinned the aristocrat's wrists with only one hand. That freed one arm. While Ludwig was too strong to take that risk, he knew that Roderich wasn't. He'd be fine with holding him with one hand.

When asked about his health, he shook his head. "Nah. Merely pushing it aside for the time being," he murmured, still unable to keep his mouth shut. I really hate medication, he decided for what seemed like the twentieth time since he had taken ill today.

He made sure to keep the blush from his cheeks, having expected the Austrian to revert back to the tactic that had nearly won him the little game from the conference room. Now that he was ready for it, he wasn't going to let it catch him off guard like that again. He wasn't going to mess up again.

Giving a flippant expression, he used his free hand to lightly push up the glasses that were beginning to slide down the bridge of his nose. His hand then moved to press on the spot beside the Austrian's head. He leaned down, putting his wait on his legs and free hand, so that they were face to face with not too much space between them. "I don't believe you are the one calling the shots, Ro-Der-Ich," he purred softly, breath lightly grazing the aristocrat's cheeks.

Alfred blinked and shook his head, 'Kiku sounds happy! Ha!' "Maybe. But, maybe I. All. Ready. Was."Alfred said, with a dark tone near the end.

"Did I spook ya Kiku?" Alfred asked with a chuckle. He hoped he did, but at the same time hoped he didn't.

"That's great that your getting better! That's so awesome!" Alfred said happily. Alfred hoped that Kiku would feel better soon, and wondered how long Kiku had had this kind of sickness.

'I wonder why Iggy isn't ticked about his phone...Kiku and I have been talking for a while right?' Alfred wondered.
'Who cares! It's fun talking to Japan!

Oh dear. It was a little too late to realise that this was a poor discussion choice... However, he supposed that he couldn't just avoid subjects that were pressing like this. And it seemed as if Ivan had been having a tough time recently...

'Isolation, huh?' Yao questioned quietly, drawing away from his comfortable position in order to look up at his friend properly. 'I know how that feels. Would your bosses object to me visiting you, if they're not going to let you out much, aru?' He asked in a softened tone, warmly smiling. He was trying to be some sort of comfort, at any rate... It was difficult to smile when he heard that the Russian was suffering.

'It'll be alright, Ivan. I'm sure... In time, this'll all die down. You can count on me to help you whenever you need me, alright, aru?' That was a strong promise. After all, if Ivan got attacked by Kiku (there was little to no chance of that), he'd have to stick to Ivan's side and not want to be neutral...

'Uhm... Is there anything particular that you want to do this evening, Ivan? I mean, when we go out later?'

----------

Well, this wasn't working. Then again, he supposed that it was beginning to become an overused tactic by now. 'I suppose you can't blame me for trying.' The Austrian shuddered a little at the breath, turning his head to one side. 'Ngh... S-stop that. N-not... So close!' He bleated, knowing that the redness had not left his face. There was a reason he'd turned away... And it wasn't something he'd care to admit to, either.

Though he was probably sure that Gilbert would avoid that certain 'area' if he knew of it.

However, Roderich wasn't ready to give up, not just yet. If these tactics were not working, he'd have to strengthen them a little.

'You are a fool, Gilbert.' A little grin played on his face as he glanced up at the man above him, turning his head back. 'The closer you get... The happier I am.' He purred, giving another feeble wriggling attempt. 'But perhaps it's the same for you, hm...? I have to say... Those glasses do suit you. Quite... I'm not entirely sure I could resist. And, seeming as there's no one else here... But you and I...-' He purred, eyes lighting up again with that little spark of fun again, '-Who says there's any reason why I should?'

Silent for a moment, Ivan pondered about what to say. In truth, his boss would definitely object to the Asian visiting. After all, it was too soon after the fall of the Soviet Reds. If China visited, someone might believe that Russia was turning Communist again. That would set off America and England, again, since he was supposed to remain democratic.

"Nyet," he murmured, smiling with a slight mischief in his eyes. "Boss's demands unreasonable. Is not listen to him much longer. Will leave house. Will leave country. Does not matter to me," he confided, knowing that his boss would be furious at his blatant disregard to what he said.

Ivan froze when Yao reminded him of the plans for the evening. He lost his smile, not sure what to do. "Greece and..." he broke off, shaking his head. "Had disagreement." He decided to leave it at that very vague description.

Raising a brow at the reaction he had incited from the aristocrat, Gilbert shifted slightly again so he was putting a bit more weight on his knees instead of his hand. He was somewhat amused by the behaviour the brunette was exhibiting.

The only hint of Gilbert reacting toward Roderich's once again used trick was the way his hand tightened it's grip slightly on the aristocrat's wrists. His face gave away none of his emotions, wiping even the smirk off to leave an empty look again. "I have a question, Roderich," he murmured, actually using the Austrian's name seriously. "Do you tire of trying to toy with my emotions?"

Trying to push back his symptoms when he was on the defensive was proving more difficult than he thought. A wave of dizziness passed through him and his grip on the Austrian's wrists loosened, although he didn't realize it as he tried to push passed his illness.

Kiku's eyes widened when Alfred's tone took on a dark color. Did he say something wrong that upset the American? Swallowing deeply, Kiku fidgeted with his shirt once again.

"A-Alfred-kun..." Kiku stuttered slightly, clearing his throat to stay calm.

When Alfred returned to his usual self, Kiku felt his cheeks rise in color slightly. The American had been joking around with him! Kiku felt the wave of embaressment flood over him as he realized that Alfred was joking with him. After all, Kiku had honestly thought he had done something wrong to upset the other person!

"That was not very nice, Alfred-kun," Kiku pouted, a slight frown on his face, "I honestly thought I had done something wrong..."

Sighing, Kiku knew that in the end, he couldn't stay mad at Alfred. After all, the younger nation was trying to help out with everything in Kiku's country. Since the Japanese man relied heavily on the American's military resources, Kiku decided to try and make a good relationship with Alfred.

"Hai...I am getting better," Kiku told the nation with a fake cheerful tone, "It is a good thing."
