Driviline blinks a few times as Satomi rushes over to Chachamaru. The idea of a magic picture box bored him a bit. It was also getting alittle late and he was becoming rather hungry. He walks over to Sosuke and whispers to him. "Hey, Sosuke-kun, I hope you know of at least one good place to eat around here, because Satomi-chan is starting to look like a main course dish." He lets out a sigh. "Man, I thought that packet of blood I had earlier would have at least held me through the day."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 02, 2008 3:11 pm
Satomi nearly jumped out of her own skin when he slammed the ax down. Not out of fear though, but just surprised that he possessed that sort of strength. It was clearly obvious at this point that this was no mere man in a costume, she could tell only after a few seconds of hearing him and get a good look at him, especially when he lowered himself to Satomi's smaller stature and looked at her eye to eye. She didn't show any signs of intimidation though, always choosing matters with brains over brawn, and seeing that his biggest weakness was her biggest strength, so she knew exactly how to get herself out of this situation with ease.

Fortunately, Chachamaru had interfered from to prevent the Orc from doing anything rash, causing Satomi to have the faintest curve of a grin as her eyes met his. It was like seeing a match between David and Goliath, only they were using words as weapons, at least for now. "Well 'Grundy'-san, I'm afraid there are a few problems with this whole matter." She began, adjusting her glasses for a moment, causing the sun to reflect off her glasses in a way that shielded her eyes completely, making her cute appearance in the kimono appear a bit more adult and confident despite how she was dressed. Only Grundy would see her this way though because of the angle the two looked at each other, anyone else would see the determined look in her eyes after she stepped aside so Chachamaru was no longer between them. She was glad her creation had aided her, but she could handle this.

"If you plan to threaten me, it's going to be nothing but words, because it would be impossible for me to do anything to help you if I was injured. Oh and trust me, I'm the only one who can help you, so watch what you say before I change my mind." Adding to her defense, she also had put the facts together, understanding that Grundy was Cassandra's servant, so she had something else to say. "Besides, I've helped your master before, and it would be a real shame for you if she found out you even so much as laid a finger on me. So I suggest you step back, calm down, and wait until I'm ready; otherwise your 'magic picture box' will be nothing more than extra weight that you'll be carrying around all day."

Sosuke nearly jumped an inch when Grundy slammed his axe into the ground, and when Grundy began to yell at Satomi, Sosuke was prepared to distract the orc if Grundy decided to slam that axe into someone. Listening to Driviline's comment about Satomi looking good as a meal, he was genuinely surprised. Didn't Driviline have better control over his hunger? And, did he have the knowledge of being prepared? All Sosuke had was his bottle of blood tablets, but they didn't work so well at times. "I have blood tablets, Hana-kun. I don't think that there are any places where we can get blood here." Sosuke whispered to Driviline.

Grundy really did not appreciate Satomi's tone of voice. He saw it as insulting his intelligence, which, whilst he knew was nothing to write home about, was still not something that he liked. Not only that, but Grundy is definitely not used to not getting what he wants from humans. Satomi's response actually reminded him of Richard. And that was a very bad thing. Placing the TV down on the ground rather heavy-handedly, he heaved his axe into his hands, and with a feral roar, raised it high above his head; more than ready to cleave the teenager in half, right down the middle.

'...Stupid girl!' From behind her mask, Cassandra's eyes had popped open to Satomi's attempt to stand up to her first general. Grundy is not the sort of person you try to reason with; let alone actually try outwit him. Throwing her staff casually to the side- not like it actually did anything at all - she broke into a run, and practically jumped into Satomi from the side, shoving her out of the way, into Xenon; and not a moment too soon. Less than half a second after she pushed the girl away, the axe cleaved into her own shoulder, but thankfully, the angle that it cut at wouldn't sever her arm. Of course, that was no conoslation to Cassandra, who shouted loudly in English.
"" She pulled the mask off with her uninjured arm, not so much glaring daggers at him as she did glare entire broadswords at him. "Grundy, you idiot! What the bloody hell are you doing?!" She yelled, holding her heavily-bleeding shoulder. It was nothing that she hadn't taken before; but that didn't stop it hurting like a b***h.

As Grundy realized exactly who he'd nearly killed (well, it'd take a lot more than that to kill Cassandra, but such a blow would easily have been fatal to a human), his eyes widened and he took a step back. "S-'Sandra! Me sorry! Me just want magic picture box to work..." He didn't look so much frightful of his mistake and the inevitable retribution as he looked embarrassed; as if it happened all the time, and wasn't really much to get worked up over. Which, for Grundy and Cassandra, it wasn't.

Xenon watched the events unfolding with confusion. She was strong enough to maintain standing when Satomi was pushed into her, and simply caught her before she could fall. She could see that Cassandra definitely appeared to be bleeding; but she didn't quite know what to believe in this place. Fortunately, she was used to making a fool of herself by asking obvious questions about mundane things, and whispered to Satomi, as if she was a little ashamed or afraid of asking. "Satomi-san... Is this part of one of the acts?"

Sosuke let out a gasp as he saw Grundy preparing to chop Satomi in two pieces. With one foot forward, Sosuke started to move toward the orc, but Cassandra beat him there. Sosuke hadn't learned much English, but from watching Western films with Gilly, he certainly recognized the swear word that came from Cassandra's mouth. Looking around, Sosuke saw stares from other people, watching the heroic act from Cassandra. Of course, they were also watching the bleeding coming from Cassandra's wound, and they must have been amazed and panicked that the orc was carrying around a real axe, and didn't hesitate to slice someone in half. Cassandra would certainly be okay, but Sosuke didn't help but wonder how she was going to repair that quickly...

(( sorry for late response shadow ))

Kaede looked around as the crowd seemed to engulf Mana's group and cause them to vanish, Zazie had come to a stop as Kaede looked at her. She seemed a bit saddened by the turn of events as she tapped her chin "if you want we can~de gozaru" he said as it was something to do. She started to walk with Zazie as she made her way through the crowds of people that were on the streets, finding Mana should be to hard since she does stand out from a normal group of people.

It was a good thing too that Cassandra had come. Normally, Satomi's reflexes were sharp, and she would have been able to get out of the way herself. But in the kimono, a lot of her normal movements were quite restricted, and at best she could have hoped for a small side stop that would just have simply not been enough. Everything had suddenly happened so quickly, that the next thing she knew, she was lying chest first in Xenon's arms, staring down at the ground as he glasses had fallen off, and everything had become a slight blur. "N-No, it's not!" She said in distress as she coughed from the dust and dirt that had risen from the ax hitting the earth so hard.

Taking a moment to gather herself, Satomi pushed herself out of Xenon's arms, reminding herself to thank the android later before she grabbed her glasses, hastefully putting them on while she looked over towards Cassandra and Grundy, still in shock from what happened. The blood didn't bother her honestly, but the fact that it could have been her was a steep realization for her as she tried to get over what just happened. "F-Forget it! I'm out! I-I don't work with Neanderthals." She said in a shaky voice, taking a slow step back, looking like she was on the verge of running away from a steadily rising fear. Even with Chachamaru and Sosuke by her side, she still didn't feel safe now.

"He's an orc." Cassandra muttered through gritted teeth. Sure, he might just have inflicted upon her what could have been to a human a lethal injury, but she really hated it when people called Grundy things like 'monster'; although in fairness, she had't heard him called a 'Neanderthal' in a while. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out her needle, stitching up the wound. In all honesty, it wasn't really that bad; in fact she could probably have gone about the rest of her day reasonably well; but she'd rather not go around bleeding everywhere. Within seconds the wound was patched up, and it might as well have never existed - and after a few stitches actually used for stitching cloth for a change, the damage to her robe was repaired - although that damage was left obvious, with the stitches still visible - it was only on flesh that it could work it's magic and leave seamless work.

Grundy simply remained silent, still looking embarrassed and ashamed as Cassandra stood upright again, giving her shoulder another rub, just to make sure she hadn't missed anything. Seemed like the job was a good 'un. She looked towards a few of the tourists, who seemed worried for the little doctor, but she simply waved to them. "It's alright, people; he skipped ahead in our script a little by mistake; I wasn't ready for that part." She said with a reassuring smile; deciding that it would be a better idea to put some kind of bluff on, rather than just say 'Oh, yeah, I just had my shoulder cut open by an orc with an axe.'

Now Xenon was officially confused. She trusted Satomi above all others; but she also knew Cassandra to be a teacher, making her an autohrity figure. The fact that the tiny doctor appeared to sew up what would appear to be a deadly wound with what appeared to be a normal needle and thread, combined with the very matter of where they were, made her question what to believe. She had no idea, of course, of the unspeakably evil acts that Cassandra had done; and the very concept of magic, as far as she was concerned, was just something that existed in games.

Chachamaru watched the events unfold and felt concern for her creator. Also about to act, Chachamaru became aware of Cassandra and stopped allowing her to interefre which was unexpected. Chachamaru stood impassive at the wound suffered by Cassandra, know her true nature. She had done her part of the mission and that was to bring Grundy to Kyoto. There was never a guarantee of help, so logically Grundy would still have to honor his promise. Moving alongside Hakase, Chachamaru chose to remain by her side. Apparently her help would be needed. "Satomi Hakase-san, Do you require any medical attention? Or any assistance at all? I will remain here by your side until ordered otherwise."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:35 pm
Slowly shaking her head, Satomi had finally been able to catch her breath after the whole situation and relaxed a bit, finishing with a long sigh as she managed to look at Cassandra first. "I don't care what he is, the fact that you have such a pitiful tame on him something you need to work on." She said with a bit of disgust, looking towards Chachamaru next, as if the two of them were setting an example. She could always rely on her best creation, and unlike Cassandra, Satomi had a much better control over her partners.

She didn't feel like antagonizing Cassandra or Grundy any more though, her words were not there to be insults, but advice, and even if Cassandra was centuries old or not, that still didn't mean she knew everything or couldn't take some advice now and then.

"Chachamaru-san? The rest of us are going to get something to eat." She began, looking at Sosuke, and than reluctantly towards Driviline as she waited to see if they agreed. "We'll find a place with the proper outlet to get you charged up, and than later I can wind you up a bit when we get to the hotel." She said with a firm nod, her smile returning as she showed concern for her friends and even her creation. Unfortunately, with Chachamaru's presence, Satomi was failing to realize how she was neglecting Xenon just a bit...

Zazie came to a sudden halt at Kaede's request, like her words became a barrier, making her stop dead in he tracks. The expression on her face remained unchanged though, and she suddenly began to fish for something in her pocket that was sewn into the black cloak she was wearing before she pulled out what looked like an American silver dollar. Without hesitation, she flicked it in the air, watching it flip rapidly in the air before she caught it in a tight fist. With a dramatic pause, she slapped it on the wrist of her other hand only to reveal that it landed on...

Heads~

"No... I remain." She said bluntly, pocketing the exotic coin -or at least, exotic in Japan- before she looked ahead, noticing a rather strange scene. She recognized a few of the students actually, most of whom it had taken her a moment due to the costumes, but sure enough, she still knew who it was. Perhaps they could join them? She had a feeling with people like that large man and Chachamaru, they would attract a crowd. And when there was a crowd, there was the opportunity for a show.

Chachamaru listened to Satomi and bowed, "Thank you for your assistance Satomi Hakase-san. I apologize for bringing Grundy-san to you. It was never intended for him to hurt you" Checking her systems she had enough energy to last until they returned to the hotel for a winding. Well barring any unforseen events that could prevent it. Chachamaru remembered being told to have fun, in Kyoto by her master. She thought over those words, wondering how she would have fun. Things appeared to be a powder keg, just waiting to explode, now that Grundy was here and it was her fault for bringing him.

Driviline sighs. "Alright, I guess it will do. I haven't had to controll my blood thirst for such a long time that I have yet to get use to it." He didn't even flinch when Grundy was starting to attack Satomi. He was a bit shocked when Cassandra ended up taking the hit for Satomi. But he somehow knew that she would have no problem with an injury like that. He took a harsh glar at Satomi when she said the word 'Neanderthals.' He let out a sigh. He put on a smile as he turns to look at Sosuke. "Don't worry about it too much, after awhile I will be back to my OLD self." He couldn't help but chuckly slightly evilly at the thought of being his OLD self. Humans running away as he set fire to their homes, and the sweet sounds of famillies crying out for mercy. Ah, how he loved the sounds of a torchered soal, especially when he is the one causing it.

Kaede watched the coin flip in the air as she saw its sides changing in mid air. As she caught it and said heads she also said that she was going to stay. Kaede was a bit confused as she looked to where Zazie was looking, she saw a few people and one was someone from their class. Chachamaru was with a group of strange people as she tried to look at them closer while she stood near Zazie.

"Talk about Grundy like he's an animal again, and I'll personally rip out every one of your teeth - even your wisdom teeth - with rusty pliers, sharpen them all into fangs, and systematically jam them into your eyes." Cassandra told Satomi with a stone-faced glare, and an unexpected lack of any sort of smile on her face, not even a psychotic one. She was deadly serious. Sure, she might personally have about as much respect for the big dumb Orc as she did for a small pile of pocket lint; but that doesn't mean that other people could just go around talking about him like that. After all, as far as she was concerned, her Orcs were superior, in every way that matters, to humans. However, she'd already wasted far too much time with this petty argument; she had to still find that pesky missing kid. At least having her criminally loyal orc around would give her a little extra muscle. She put her mask back on and turned away, walking off. "Come on, greenskin; I've got a job you can help with." She said bluntly, retrieving her useless staff as she headed off.

Grundy looked at Satomi, then at Cassandra, then back to Satomi, before dropping to his knee, bowing his head; although this only really made him about eye-level. He hadn't really understood exactly how much of a big deal almost cutting someone in half was; after all, it was an everyday occurance for him. He spoke quietly, hoping that Cassandra wouldn't hear him over the crowds. "Me very sorry, Hakase... Grundy have short temper and big axe... Please look after magic picture box for me..." Leaving the TV there, he stood up again, and followed after Cassandra, who had already put quite some distance between herself and the group. He knew that if he bought it with him, he was likely to just end up with it being smashed by Cassandra; probably over his own head; and he didn't want it to get broken after all the trouble he'd gone through for it. He picked up the pace just a little to catch up to Cassandra, following her as she explained to him about what was going on; and more importantly, where he was. Not that he'd have the first clue as to what he was looking for; but it at least readied him to break some things, without attacking the first man to point a sword at him.

Xenon was even more confused by the events now that she had been before. Cassandra might have been acting in character; but Satomi had said she wasn't; yet the tall man couldn't possibly be a real orc - there's no such thing, right? It was the remarks to Chachamaru that had made Xenon rethink her thoughts on the other robot. She was used to hearing about charing a robot up, but wasn't quite sure what to think about the 'winding her up' part. Was that some sort of innuendo? None of the definitions that she knew of for winding something up quite seemed to fit with the context with which she used it. She didn't want to interrupt the conversation with her stupid questions though; especially since she'd set her definitions to count Chachamaru as a human for the purposes of conversation - it was effectively a conversation between two humans, as far as she was concerned.

Well.... that could have gone better. She could plainly see that Cassandra was clearly upset, and normally, it would not have bothered her so much. But after the time spent with her last night and how the two helped one another, she felt just the slightest ping of regret for how she made Cassandra feel. She didn't apologize though, deciding it was best to just let her go and be done with this all. But before she did, it seemed the Orc had something else to say, and even Satomi didn't see it coming. He had apologized for his actions, and even asked her nicely, going so far as to say please. Blinking a few times at this, Satomi wasn't sure how to react at first, but with a long sigh and her shoulders sinking a bit, she nodded slowly, even if Grundy had already walked away and he couldn't see this.

Alright, it was time she came to a decision here.

Turning back to the others, a confident and assured look on her face, Satomi showed that she was able to shrug off the whole situation and not let it bother her, even managing to recover that soft smile of hers before she looked at the small group she was with right now.

Before Satomi could speak though, she was interrupted when someone had come and tapped her on the shoulder. Before she could turn around though, she could already see Zazie walking right past her before assembling with the group of Xenon, Sosuke, Driviline, and Chachamaru, as if she was a part of the group the entire time. Zazie didn't say a word, and she looked over towards Kaede so the others could see that she was joining as well, as if her gaze was enough to point out the ninja.

"Er... h-hello there Zazie-san." Satomi said with a confused look on her face, only to turn around and see Kaede was following as well. "A-And Nagase-san." Blinking a few times, she let out a small cough to digress the situation before deciding to take a little charge in the situation and letting everyone know what was going on. "Well then.. if you two want to come, we're going to find some place to sit down and take it easy, maybe eat, take some pictures; you know, actually enjoy ourselves for once." She said that last part like she was hinting at something, which she kind of was, seeing as how so far, she hadn't been able to have more than maybe a total of five minutes of fun here, and the rest being pretty much a nightmare to her. None the less, she went on, seeing how everyone else thought about this. "Xenon? Can one of you get that TV? I'd hate to put Grundy and Chachamaru's efforts of coming here be a waist. And Chachamaru-san? Will you be okay for another hour or so before I give you a wind up?" She waited to hear what everyone else had to say, also listening for any ideas, but she was sure to not leave anyone out, knowing that she had some responsibilities here.
