Actually, the art style is starting to grow on me... and now I've seen episodes one through twelve of season one. And I'm hooked!

I mean if it isn't your thing then it isn't your thing. I love it, personally, but my best friend doesn't care for it. She loves animated more XD no hate on any of the series. I'm just super hooked on this show.

The Orion Pax thing didn't last long enough for it to be really utilised and then there were a heap of meh episodes in a row until the final five which were actually any cop.

I can't believe they panned Animated for it ...

... I beg to differ on that one.

Roughnecks did it.
The core team was Razak, Brutto, Goss, Doc, Dizzy, Rico, Carl and Higgins, that's only 8 characters (Lets not forget, character wise Prime also has Jack, Miko and Raff even if the first two are rubbish ...) and by arc three they're down one (Carl) who is then replaced by T'Phai, for a third of arc four they're one down (Rico) and he's not replaced. Arc five (Klendathu) sees Brutto taken out and he's out out. he's not replaced until arc six by his own son however Carl is returned. Arc six also sees the death of Razak who is replaced by Rico and the absent sergeant slot is filled by Zim. By the end of the series (Which sadly ended prematurely *sob sob!*) the squad is a nine man band (Rico, Zim, Goss, Doc, Dizzy, Carl, Higgins, Brutto jr and T'Phai) though Carl is only a rental.
My point is that with a good writing team you can actually write a decent plotted story arc with just two or three characters if you have the talent; they could have left Optimus out of commission for half the series easily if they'd had the skill, the fact that S2 was basically a MacGuffin hunt suggests the writers aren't capable of it.

They missed some gold opportunities because they rushed Optimus' restoration, that whole T-Cog thing would have been so much better had Optimus not been around (Because it would have placed the importance on Ratchet and made his offer more poignant).

Roughnecks the Starship Trooper Chronicles, one of the first shows ever to use full CGI.

They're also responsible for a lot of the Insecticon noises in Prime ...

Yeah, I found that out... I do like the art style now. And Starscream's just awesome! Do you roleplay, any chance? Would you care to? To give it a try, if you don't already?
