Word to your mother... or father... or guardian...
My name is Brittany. I'm 19 years old and I attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Please. No Michael Jackson jokes. Gary is still far away.
My major is English Education, and if it is wasn't because I don't have enough time and money... My minor WOULD be Creative Writing.
I've been writing poetry ever since I was 12 years old. It pretty much sucked until I took English 205 - Introduction to Creative Writing and found out that rhymes severely limited what was on my mind... or on the mind of someone else I imagine. wink
About my writing style- I really have no idea what to call it... It's very free verse-y and more or less confusing half of the time... Probably because that's my life story. Haha. Anyway, I typically use a lot of natural metaphors- stars, moon, wind, etc. You get the point. I tend to write about whatever is on my mind- sometimes my poems are depressing, jubilant, angry, or some other type of emotional state. You'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
I've had two traumatic experiences in my life, and I typically call upon those to write some of my depressing poetry, so if it's very emo or something- excuse me.
I love music dearly. Green Day and AFI are my two favorite bands.
Salinger is my hero. Shakespeare sucks. Save for Sonnet 130. Swift is pretty awesome.
Okay, I'll stop name dropping.
All in all...
Hello everyone. It's a pleasure to be here.

Hello, my name is Vanyalli, but you can call me Vany. Or by my real name, Jess. I am 15 and live in Michigan. And I absolutely hate it here.
I have been writing poetry for about 3 years now. Some of my poetry is dark, depressing, angry, or sad. I'm not an angry person! I write what I feel. I usually bottle up my emotions and won't write until I feel that it is too much to handle.
Besides writing, I enjoy reading, music, and watching movies.
WhenI am not doing the above stuff, I spend my time going to school, sleeping, or skating. I am a figure skater. Let me re-fraise that. I am a figure skater that will kick your a** if yo call me a twirl girl. So watch it. I have made it to Nationals, which will be held in Colorado Springs.
I'm so excited to read others' poetry, and for them to comment on mine. I'm also really glad to be apart of this guild. Along with my other writing guilds....
~Vany
