ZombieApocalypseSurvivor

As she came closer to the first of the three small buildings she would stop getting close to the wall so to listen for the telling sign of zombies. She had to force her breathing down and listen closely but there was no sound at first that is then came a faint banging noise from inside the building. Bang, bang, bang, the same sound which sounded a lot like something metal striking against the wall. As there was no other sound then that she pulled back from the wall and took another look around. Nothing just as before there was a couple of cars in the parking lot most of which had already been stripped down to almost nothing. Which made it unlikely anything would be hiding behind them so she rounded the corner now to return to searching.

Stepping round the corner Ashley found that the first building was a small locker room with a door leading into the ladies side and the guys side. Checking the ladies side first the door would not move more then an inch as something was holding it tightly in place as for the mans it opened with no problem. With the door open and the small windows on the side not completely covered with dirt she could just make out the first row of small lockers but nothing past that point and this is where the flashlight came in handy..

(It's fine, I won't probably post every day either, but I'll do my best)

Andy was banging a metal pipe on his fridge to make it work when he heard an engine outside. He kept banging, thinking it was his imagination when it stopped. Then he saw little red lights flashing on and off indicating someone had crossed his little sensors around the perimeter ot the house and the other two buildings. He stopped the banging and grabbed his shotgun, making sure it was fully loaded.

"Damned loners, always messin with my stuff. Why can't those zombies just leave me alone!" he said angrily as he opened the front door of the house, shotgun ready when he saw a woman peeking into the locker rooms about thirty feet away from him.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Andy said as he approached her, talking to her like a human to see if she would respond. If not, then he'd shoot her, assuming that she was a zombie.

Lowering the shotgun Ashley rested the barrel against the wall next to the door and was in the middle of taking the back pack off when she heard a man demanding to know what she was doing. Just the fact that he had came out of no where on her caused jump a bit after all with this new world of zombies and bandits it made her a bit jumpy at times.

“I….I’m sorry I didn’t know anyone was living here.” Looking towards the shotgun the man held in his hands clearly ready to punch a hole in her if she did anything stupid least that is what her mind told her so she stood still and stopped trying to get the back off more so she worked it back into place. “If I’m trespassing I’ll leave and not bother you again sir.”

(At this moment Andy would see the following. Ashley is wearing a full body suit like those worn by motorcycle riders, a leather jacket that fits her just right and a motorcycle helmet with the visor open and a pair of black leather gloves. Then there is the backpack with a handgun on her right hip and a machete on the left.)

(Thanks for the description =D)

Andy looked at the woman as she apologized. He looked her over, taking an external inventory of what she was carrying. After realizing that she would only pose a threat if she reached for ehr pistol or machete, Andy knew he would be able to shoot her before she could shoot him. Knowing this, he elt off the toigh guy act a moment.

"Well, I'll be damned, you ARE human!" He shouted in excitement, "What are you doing in these parts, how'd you get here?" he said, but then looked at the horizon, "Tell me when we get inside. It's almost sundown, you don't want to get caught here after sundown. Thats when THEY come out," Andy said, motioning Ashley tothe house behind him.

ZombieApocalypseSurvivor
Richie walked through the first floor of the house, admiring its antiquity.

"Hey, I found the basement!" he shouted as he opened a trap door underneath the dining room table. He pulled out a flashlight from his bag and climbed down. The basement was surprisingly large, but looked more like an old fruit cellar. He explored the dark fruit cellar, his visibility limited to the narow beam of light generated from his flashlight. He saw a door on the far side of the cellar and walked towards it. He opened the door without a care in the world. Suddenly, a dead body fell out on top of him, knocking him to the ground.

"Holy God! Help! Maryse!" He shouted as he tried to get the limp body off of him in a panic.

Maryse paid little attention to Richie as she explored the house's second floor.

Traditionally, Victorian bedrooms included a bed, armoire, washstand, and dressing table, and dark woods such as mahogany, rosewood, and walnut were favored. Floors were covered with small rugs that often featured floral motifs, in color combinations such as blue and pink or red, green, and gold. Wallpaper was also a common feature. This house was no different. The beds were elaborately designed and dressed with canopies and drapes, lots of pillows, flounces, ribbons, and other trims, and the furniture was embellished with carvings and pediments. The problem was, everything was old and timeworn. The fabrics were faded and moth-eaten. Even the wallpaper, once a perilously deep green with gold filigree, was dulled with age.

Suddenly, Maryse heard Richie screaming for her from elsewhere in the house. She spun on her heel and ran down the staircase. She searched the ground floor, calling his name, but she couldn't find him. Finally, she found the trapdoor that led down into the basement. That must be where he went, she decided. She descended into the darkness without hesitation.

There, in the beam of his flashlight, Maryse saw Richie struggling beneath a partially decayed corpse.

Maryse rushed to Richie's aid, grabbing the corpse and throwing it off of him with all her might. It didn't attempt to attack her, to her surprise. Instead, it fell to the floor, motionless. So, she thought, it's not zombie. Just a corpse. An ordinary corpse. Somehow, that knowledge didn't make her feel any better. She picked up Richie's flashlight and shined it at the corpse. It was, or had been, a woman. From the looks of her, she'd been dead for a while. A long while. Beneath dainty auburn bangs, her face hung slack, bloated and discolored, the skin loosening. Her blackened tongue dangled from her gaping mouth. Her eyes, dry and sunken and filmed over beneath swollen lids, stared directly at her, at Maryse. It was unsettling.

Maryse turned back to Richie and helped him up. "Are you alright?" she asked him.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," Richie said, standing up and brushing the dirt off his front, "It came out of the closet, I thought it was a zombie. Good to know it is only a corpse though...a dead corpse." Richie looked at the eyes of the woman and shuddered as chills ran cold down his spine. Then he noticed something peculiar. He bent down and looked at the body, moving pieces of clothes around as he investigated the corpse.

"Hey, Maryse, there's something weird about this corpse," He said, trying to touch as little of the body as possible as he investigated it.

Maryse squatted down beside Richie and shined the flashlight over the corpse. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to be looking for, so she pointed out the first peculiar thing she noticed. "There are no signs of injury or trauma," she said, "neither internal nor external." That meant that the woman hadn't been killed. More importantly, it meant that the woman hadn't been infected. It meant that she wouldn't be coming back to life any time soon. That was a relief, at least.

Ashley started to answer the questions but was quickly cut off by the man that motioned towards the house behind him telling her that they came out at night she didn’t want to stick around to find out if the ones he spoke of where zombies. “Alright just let me get my shotgun.” Reaching down she took hold of the barrel of the shotgun and swung the pistol grip into her open left hand.

“I hope the truck will be ok those things have never attacked vehicles before but nothing would really surprise me with them.” Looking back towards the armored swat vehicle for a minute then back to Andy she wasn't really so sure about going into the house with someone she had never met but he was right at night the zombies did show higher rates of movement as they would travel towards any sound of light they spotted.

Then there was the fact she was kind of happy to run into another survivor the last time she had meet one was at least three months ago by her count and he was infected. So she pushed caution to the wind and followed Andy towards the house.

"You're truck should be fine. We just need to get inside," He said, running to the house. He opened the door and walked into the kitchen, pulling down heavy metal shutters. He went to the back door and made sure that the thick and heavy metal door was deadbolted, chained and knob-locked before he continued to cover the rest of the windows with shutters.

(Richie)

"If there is no sign of trauma, then why was she trapped in here? Did she hide there from zombies before the military came?" Richie said as he stood up, nudging the corpse with his foot. Suddenly, he covered his nose, "Ugh! I just realized how foul the stench is! I can taste it!"

Maryse stood up and stepped away from the body. "What should we do?" she asked Richie. They couldn't just put the corpse back into the closet and pretend that they'd never found it. The stench was foul, and it would only get worse. It would fill the house. Maryse really wanted to know what had happened to the woman. Although decomposition lent her face an increasingly inscrutable expression, she looked, Maryse thought, like she had died in terror.

Richie suddenly got another chill down his spine.

"I have a bad feeling about this place," he said, looking at Maryse in mild terror, and then noticed the corpses face, "I think we need to leave. Or at least report this to someone. But if we report this to someone, we might end up like her, you never know. She might have stumbled across another body somewhere that looked like this and told someone. But hey, I'm a conspiracy theorist, so I think crazy sometimes. This does strike me as surprisingly odd, though. all these buildings had to have been swept for zombies and rebels before being cleared for civilians. They wouldn't have missed a room. Maybe in their initial search, but they've been here for quite some time."

Maryse thought a moment. She didn't want the woman's corpse in her house—she felt weird, already thinking of it as her house—any longer that it needed to be, but they couldn't carry it outside, not with Richie's injured leg. They'd need help. "Call Jean-Mark," she said at last, "and tell him what we found."

"Do you have a phone or number? I seemed to have left a cell phone off my survival list when I ran from the base before I met you," he said, then realized he sounded harsher than he meant to, "Just...do you have a card with his number on it that I may use? And did you see a phone in this place while you were looking around?"

Maryse glared at him, her icy green eyes locking onto his, entirely unforgiving. "Here," she said coldly, retrieving a crumpled up piece of paper from her back pocket and pressing it into his hand, "This is the number. The phone is in the kitchen." With that, she ascended the ladder and returned to the first floor.
