Do you bleach your hair first before getting color dyed in, or do you just go for the sheen? Cuz I'd thought about getting a blue streak (probably electric) in mine since forever, but couldn't imagine it not looking rather ghey. But that might be because I haaate how bleached asian hair looks.

I wanted to dye my hair green for a while. I'd probably have to bleach it first, and even then, my job wouldn't allow it. So what I'm really saying is, my hair is going to be deep brown / black for my entire life.

the first time, i just put it in, and it made my hair jet black. the more recent time, i had bleached streaks in there, so it showed in those streaks. i still have the spray from last year i never used... but i just haven't been arsed to get another cap with holes and spray those sections. also, if i don't let the dye sit long enough, it'll just look green.

see, i went though the dress code after the fact, and read that one shouldn't have a hair color that disturbs things. and my streaks weren't disturbing, and they still weren't when i got them colored. but after ac, messing with my hair made the entire thing green... but nobody ever told me anything along the way of "cut your hair or you're out of here." district managers even came once in a while, looked, and i never heard anything about it. it was like that for about a month.

but a week later, when someone else got a bit of color in his head, he was told that he had to take it back out. admittedly, his color was rather random and ugly, but... my whole head was green for a month. other than being called the hulk and other people that don't cut my checks asking "that stuff's not out yet?", nobody really bothered me about it.

I dunno. I work in "high-end retail" in a "high-end shopping centre" (gotta spell it with the "e" instead of the "r" at the end like that, makes it classy), so I'm not sure I could get away with walking in one day with green hair.

Solution: Work from home.

Actually, speaking of high and mighty people, I spoke with the program director for my department, our district manager came in, and the vice president of stores visited, who couldn't remember who I was from the last time he visited.

All in all a good day, if you consider at least one of those people only spoke to me because of some whacked out crap that happened Tuesday.
