I have more ore than I know what to do with now. I found a Dragon Longsword +1 in the maze on 2-2.

Do I ever get different armor or what?

I think only weapons are upgradeable. Armor you just have to find or buy.

I've found rags. Which I don't even have the option to wear. Just gets kind of old having the same basic equipment. I want light armor that will let me dodge or heavy armor that keeps me from dying because someone hit me twice. The middleground just isn't cutting it.

You can find some Fluted Armor, Black Leather, and Wizard's Clothes in various sections 3-1. Otherwise you can buy it off of various vendors.

I think there's a vendor at the end of 3-1 that looks like all the other zombies or whatever, but I ended up killing him because I didn't realize it until after.

Yeah, I'm using the black leather set from 3-1. Its a good place for soul loot too.

I've only found the same stuff I'm wearing from the merchant in the first area. Merchant in the second area has nothing of value. Atleast my shield is (sometimes) decent.

After being able to sneak up on, stab, and then finish off those mind flayer things time and time again, apparently they now know my every movement and I forgot to take the safety off my sword, which refuses to move from any setting other than "miss."

How do you sneak?

Soul form, theif's ring, walk.

I'm not entirely sure walking has anything to do with sneaking, since I've sprinted up to enemies and hit R1 right as I brush up against them and they never see me coming. It's the mind flayers that turn randomly and attack, regardless of if I'm walking or running. I could be ENTIRELY wrong, but it seems like the Black Leather and Thief's ring pretty much do what I need them to.

On the plus side, since I apparently had White Tenancy, In 3-2 I got a key to let that spirit dude out of his cell and got a ring that increases my defense if my health is below 30%.

The mind flayers seem to never be able to notice, since I charge them as soon as they turn their back and are slow to notice and turn around, but human enemies like soldiers and knight you have to walk, since they'll somehow know you're coming, even though you dont make any sound in soul form.

Well, I found the giant lava pit in 2-2.

Then melted.
