I had heard about it ... but didnt know the details ... John Howard always seems to be annoying someone in the world ... hehe I didnt know the ACT had legalised gay marriages ... ok...time for a mini lesson on US government.
here is how the US Government works:
there are 3 branches, as you can see. there are also 2 main parties in the USA (many others, but only 2 ever get elected...): the Republicans and the Democrats. Republicans = conservative = bush. Democrats = liberal = me. XD ...the legislative branch, as you can see, is made up of the house of representatives and the senate. in november, elections were held to elect the people of congress, and the democrats came out with a majority of seats. congress is what passes laws, makes legislation, etc... =P |
