I think what's awesome is that I can basically tell how far Athan is along in his storyline by what sword he's using:

Athan started off with the Mercurial Greatsword when he was introduced. This was lost originally after fighting Chaos Viceroy.

He had the masochist blade during that time frame, too. Just prior to HoH '07 he got the Mercurial Greatsword BACK but this time infused with chaos/dead grandfather essence.

Those both broke, he lost an arm, went with a smaller sword that he could use with one hand before he got the Arm of the Dreamless Sleeper. Shortly afterwards he was given the Rook's Destroyer.

He commissioned another greatsword to carry alongside the Rook's Destroyer, but it's essentially just a less massive, less shade-y sword.

The sword I'm considering having him reforge was the one that the Tyr'Kanan high priest had claimed prior to being killed by Athan's ancestor. Alpha blew it up in front of Athan as a final "******** You" before retreating after HoH 08.

it's half a wonder that athan doesn't know that laz owns the shieldbreaker. maybe that'll make him be nicer to valerie, wanting that thing.

Well, Kael is heading to the stadium as soon as I post, and considering he won't go near the riot and has no idea what is going on with Damnatus/the stage, might as well have shades.

Since otherwise he'd just kind of be there attempting to find a way to be useful until the panic ended and he got a chance to corner Rage/Vahn/Athan and figure out what teh game plan was.

Athan's not really an artifact guy. He doesn't have a real strong grasp on history and since he's technically not from the main continent, might not even be aware of the Twelve Artifacts or...however many there are.

Yeah. But I'll probably give him until Monday then I'll just go ahead anyway. That said there is one thing I do know will happen in the desert, but it's no fun to give it away.

That makes things difficult. 'course, you probably already know how the fight with Ezra ends, minus Athan's side of the dialogue, but I was really curious about getting a talk with Athan and Thomas after they reached the escape vehicle.
