That sounds like an issue with the game cartridge, not the gameboy. Unless Nintendo changed something since I last played one, they save to cartridges not databanks on the player the way PSP does.
But I'm curious, though I probably won't play them.
I'll admit that back in the day when Red and Blue came out I thought it was pretty cool. Trade with my brother, get each of us a squirtle and charmander, go conquer the world. Played Silver for a little and thought it was cool too, though I didn't completionist the ******** out of it like I did Red. Complete lack of any interest in the ones to follow though. Adding to the 150 once, yeah, I could dig it, but then I just felt like it got stupid.
Also, am I the only one who thought it was more awesome when the entire screen was one color on your GBC, before they started applying the correct colors to everything?
