I'm sure if you dig deep enough somewhere you'll find it Kat. =P

And Pride and Prejudice was a horrible, boring, book for the most part.

BOOKS, ******** by Matthew Stover. I haven't read his Star Wars books, though, because I don't care about Star Wars.

Read Shatterpoint. It's about Mace Windu and this big ******** that uses double shields as weapons and s**t.

Best SW book ever. Never read any of Stover's non SW stuff, but Shatterpoint is awesome.

Also, read Conan stories you ********. Conan is awesome.

Clash: Draw inspiration from everywhere that interests you. Everyone is somewhat different. I end up drawing from everywhere, but other people channel animu, or 40k, or SCIENCE, or.. whatever.

It's Japanimation, Vizzle, not animu.

The No-God is like one of the pinnacles for serious villains. Making every child stillborn for eleven years, just by showing up?

God damn.

That and non-men in general. Even though Bakker seemed to forget the were involved in the series somewhere in the first or second book.

This is what I was telling Fish. So far how they've been portrayed, the Consult are like the perfect epitome of pure evil, and Bakker pulls it off perfectly. s**t is nuts and disturbing. Only Berserk has come as close with the Godhand. As much as I love Lovecraftian and Warhammer stuff, they don't necessarily fit into that kind of category.

But man. Can't wait to get more into it. GOOD BOOKS ARE GOOD.

Try music, Clash.

You'll be surprised what you can get out of different genres/groups/styles- classical, modern and what have you.

Read Shatterpoint.

Read Heroes Die. And then Blade of Tyshalle.

It's about a bad dude that kills everyone. Pretty close.

Spoilers: Caine is paralyzed from the waist down in the second book and still wrestles fantasy creatures to death.

And Pride and Prejudice was a horrible, boring, book for the most part.

I found it horribly boring to read, but I actually enjoyed the TV mini-series version of it.

Kat: Didn't you get the inspiration of Ryke from that one anime lagoon or wtfever?

Favorite Star Wars character, ever.

EDIT:: Everyone knows I get almost all my inspiration from heavy metal.

Which is why I'm probably going to go deaf, then develop cancer of the everything.

Damn it, Josh. One of the main characters MOCKS the first person he comes across after calling it the No-God, and then learns his lesson later.

I'd say you should read it, but then I remembered you don't read.

The one problem with the series is that it suffers from serious fantasy name syndrome.

It routinely discusses like 10 or so different cultures, each of which has a name that's atleast fifteen characters long with umlauts and apostrophes. Not to mention personal names, and surnames.

Like Cnaiur urs Skiotha, Chieftain of the Utemot tribe of the Scylvendi.

And he has a short name.

If I remember the title I'll see about buying a copy of it when I have money to spend.

After not reading for so many years, I expect the first book I pick up to have impossibly high standards.
