Vintrict Tenkai, the reason I don't see myself as an American is not to be a hippy or something. It's because I don't confine myself to a single nationality in terms of interests and the like. I am a man who wants to explore the world, so to me, I'm simply an Earthling who enjoys the many different cultures that exist. I feel no love as an American, anyway, nor any pride, to be honest. Not because I grew up without the privilege of wealth (which, believe me, struggling makes you stronger), but merely because I wasn't in the era of revolution. I'm simply a guy born into this world who wants to see more of the world. And since I have no emotional connection to America, I am not American. By the books, I am, but to myself, I am not.
Well, even I can understand that. I mean, I'm the resident weaboo, anyway. :/
To be honest, I feel less love as an Italian or an Irishman than I do as an American. Though I can't even say I feel as much connection to being an American either aside from general patriotism. (and inb4 any other jokes...no...I don't think of myself as Japanese :/).
But to feel nothing at all? I dunno. People can't help how they feel, of course. I guess I just feel something isn't right there. But that's just me. ._.
